MINNETONKA, Minn. – The Winona State tennis team swept through St. Cloud State, recording a 5-0 victory, to set up a matchup against Augustana this afternoon in the championship match of the NSIC Tournament. Results

The championship match between WSU and Augustana, the two top seeds in the tournament, will begin at noon today.

The Warriors once again won all three of their doubles matches to stake the team to a strong early lead. Erin Kappers and Hannah Potter posted an 8-2 victory while Laura Lindstrand and Brittney Freund claimed an 8-4 win. The duo of Jessica Urban and Brianna Havelka added a 9-8 (8-6) victory to help WSU go up 3-0 early.

Needing two singles wins to close out the victory, Kappers and Lindstrand earned wins in their matches to move WSU on to the championship match.
