NSIC Offensive Player  of the Week
#21 Kiana Nickel

Nickel produced nine points last weekend and key part to a Mavericks offense that scored 12 goals with wins over Wayne State (7-0) and No. 22 Augustana (5-1).  She scored two goals in the win over Wayne State including the game winner.  She followed that up with two goals and an assist against the Vikings.  Nickel is tied for the team lead with 24 total points for the number one ranked Mavericks..

Barr led BSU to a 2-0 weekend as the Beavers shutout Northern State 4-0 and MSU Moorhead 3-0.  Barr posted 11 saves in 180 minutes of play and a perfect 1.000 save percentage and a 0.00 goals against average.  Barr posted three saves for her fourth shutout of the season Sunday as she ranks second on BSU’s all-time shutouts list with 15.  Barr’s fourth shutout ties her for eighth on BSU’s single-season shutouts list and matches a career-high set in 2012.  Barr finished the weekend riding a shutout streak of 289:07, surpassing a streak of over 281 minutes in 2012 to establish a new career-long. This marks the second week in a row Barr has earned NSIC Goalkeeper of the Week honors.

Dickhaus lead the Peacocks defense to a pair of shutouts over SMSU (2-0) and Sioux Falls (4-0). Dickhaus played all 180 minutes over the weekend as the Peacocks allowed only nine shots on goal all weekend.  She also got into the offensive attack as she assisted on the second goal in the win over Sioux Falls.  The Peacocks have now won nine straight games, outscoring opponents 26-3 in that span.

2013 Record: 10-8-1, 8-6-1 NSIC (7th)

#17 Stephanie Stevens (M, 5-2, Jr., Ankeny, Iowa. / Ankeny HS)
- Recorded a two goals and had an assist as the Vikings went 1-1 this past weekend.
- Picked up a goal and an assist in a 2-1 double overtime victory against Concordia-St. Paul.
- Had Augustana’s lone goal in a loss to No. 1 Minnesota State on Sunday in Mankato, Minn.
#19 Emily Hanneman (D, 5-10, Sr., Sioux Falls, S.D./O’Gorman HS)
- Played 180 minutes in two matches for the Vikings this weekend.
- Limited the Golden Bears to five shots on goal in a win on Saturday.
- Played the whole game in a 5-1 loss to the Mavericks.
#1 Ashley Limmer (G, 5-11, Sr., Brandon, S.D./Brandon Valley HS)
- Had four saves in the victory against CU.
- Set a school record for most wins in a season with 11 in the victory against the Golden Bears.
- Recorded an .692 save percentage for the weekend, making nine saves.

Sarah Stram (F, So., Elk Grove Village, Ill.)
- Stram finished a 2-0-0 weekend leading the Beavers with four goals, which included the game-winner Saturday.
- She leads the team with 10 goals and five assists for 25 points.
- Stram netted her team-leading ninth and tenth goals of 2014 Saturday. It was her third multi-goal match of the season and second of the weekend.
- Stram has five goals and two assists in BSU’s last three matches.
- Stram’s 10th goal established a new career-high for the sophomore, who led the team with seven a year ago.
- Stram moves into a tie with Lindsey Natwick (2002) and Mary O’Brien (2012) for eighth on BSU’s single-season goal scoring list.
- Stram’s 17 career goals placer her in sole possession of eighth place on BSU’s career goal scoring list.
- Bemidji State is a perfect 7-0-0 this season when Stram nets a goal.

- Sonja Barr led BSU to a 2-0-0 weekend of play posting 11 saves in 180 minutes of play. She posted a perfect 1.000 save percentage and a 0.00 goals against average.
- Barr posted three saves for her fourth shutout of the season Sunday and her second of the weekend. She ranks second on BSU’s all-time shutouts list with 15.

-Concordia fell to #22 Augustana and Wayne State at home
-Augie scored the game-winner in the 2nd OT with just over a minute to play
-Wayne State saw a 2-0 lead disappear before scoring the game-winner with just over a minute left in regulation
-CU out-shot their opponents 30-28 on the weekend
-Sarah Pieper, Alahna Anderson and Sam McBain all scored goals for the Golden Bears
-Taryn MacMillan attempted a team-high seven shots
-Emma Gartner made 12 saves in the two matches combined

- Scored both U-Mary goals in the win
- Both goals scored on penalty kicks
- The pair of counters were her first of the year
- Also has two assists this season
- First time in NCAA era the Marauders have converted two penalty kicks in one game

- Marauders are in the middle of a five-game road trip
- Next play at Wayne State College and Augustana on Oct. 25-26

Miranda Mosher (Fr., MF, Watertown, Minn.)
- Notched two goals on the weekend including the game-winner in a 1-0 win over Northern State University. Also had a goal in the loss to MSU Moorhead. Came into the weekend with two goals and an assist. Tallied three shots on goal on the weekend, going 2-for-3 for a .667 shooting percentage
Rachelle Alcini (Sr., D, Ann Arbor, Mich.)
- Had two assists on the weekend on Mosher’s goals, playing a ball from the back perfectly on the game-winning goal from Mosher in the 1-0 victory over Northern State. Alcini contributed to a 1-0 shutout against Northern State, limiting the Wolves to just two shots on goal on the game. In addition, Alcini and the defense limited MSU Moorhead to just three shots on goal Saturday.

#19 Maureen Stormont (F, 5-9, Sr., Stillwater, Minn./Stillwater H.S.)
- Scored three goals as the Bulldogs went 1-1 over the weekend and moved within one score of tying the UMD program record, while also sitting just three back of the program record for points
- Netted a pair of scores on three shots on goal against U-Mary on Sunday afternoon, leading the Bulldog offense with 13 shots on the week
#9 Kelli Klun (D, 5-5, Sr., Duluth, Minn/Duluth East H.S.)
- Part of a Bulldog defense that shut out U-Mary on Sunday afternoon while allowing just a pair of shots on goal
- Added two assists against U-Mary, her first of the season
#1 Marissa Rosa (GK, 5-7, Sr., Champlin, Minn./Champlin Park H.S.
- Collected her fourth shutout of the season on Sunday afternoon against U-Mary, making a pair of saves
- Made five saves on Friday night despite taking the defeat in goal against Minot State.

- Produced nine points last weekend and key part to a Mavericks offense that scored 12 goals
- Had two goals and an assist in a 5-1 win over #22 Augustana
- Also tallied two goals in the in 7-0 shutout over Wayne State
- Tied for the team lead with 24 total points
#7 Emily Erickson, Defense, Junior, Woodbury, Minn./Woodbury
- Totaled 169 minute last week and helped the Mavericks to a shutout over Wayne State
- Key part of a defense that allowed just one goal off a penalty shot in a 5-1 victory over #22 Augustana
- Produced on assist and one shot in the win against WSC
- Part of a defense that allowed just 12 shots last weekend
#33 Molly McGough, Goalkeeper, Senior, Centennial, Colo./Araphoe
- Improved her record to a perfect 12-0-0 last weekend after defeating #22 Augustana and Wayne State
- Gave up just one goal last off a penalty kick producing three saves against Augustana
- Leads the league with a .37 goals against average and  ranks second with six shutouts

The Mavericks continue their historic run to start the season and stand 13-0-0 after defeating Wayne state 7-0 and #22 Augustana 5-1 last weekend at The Pitch in Mankato. MSU will hit the road this weekend to face Minnesota Duluth and St. Cloud State.

--scored game-winning goal on a free kick in game
--led Dragons with two goals and four points on the week.
--also had six shots, including two on goal, in two games.

--played all 180 minutes on the week.
--helped MSUM to 2-1 win over Minnesota Crookston on Saturday.

#21 Emilie Rebelo (D, 5-8, Jr., Sacramento, Calif./Natomas)
- Led a back four that conceded just two goals, as the Beavers captured two wins this weekend.
- Recorded two goals off free kicks in the match against Minnesota-Duluth (10/17), including the game-winning goal.
- Recorded an assist on the first goal of the game against St. Cloud State (10/19).
- Helped hold the Huskies to just five shots on frame Sunday afternoon.
#17 Jamie MacFarlane (F, 5-8, Sr., Saskatoon, Saskatchewan/Centennial Collegiate)
- Recorded a goal in each of the Beavers’ games this weekend, including the game winning goal in overtime against St. Cloud State. Scored the third goal against UMD, putting the game out of reach.
- Provided constant pressure against St. Cloud State, recording 6 shots.
- Now has two overtime game-winning goals on the season.

- The Minot State women’s soccer team picked up a crucial six points this weekend as they captured two road victories. The Beavers began the weekend at Minnesota-Duluth, a team who sat two points ahead of the Beavers in the NSIC table. After the Bulldogs tied the game up five minutes before the half, Minot State took the lead with just under a minute until halftime and never looked back. The Beavers carried their momentum with them when they defeated St. Cloud State on Sunday in an overtime thriller.
-The Beavers will have their hands full this upcoming weekend when they travel to No. 20 Augustana College on Saturday. Minot State will finish up their weekend at Wayne State College with a game set for 1 p.m.

Northern State Wolves

Steve Kehm • 17th Season
2013 Record: 8-8-2, 5-8-2 NSIC (10th)

Northern slides to 4-10 overall and 3-8 in conference play after losses to Bemidji State and Minnesota Crookston. The Wolves travel to Sioux Falls and Southwest Minnesota State, October 25th and 26th.

Sioux Falls Cougars

2013 Record: 2-15-1, 2-12-1 NSIC (t-14th)

Sioux Falls took to the road for the road for the final time this season, traveling to Winona State and Upper Iowa. Against the Warriors, Ciara Howerton gave the Cougars a 1-0 lead early, but WSU answered to tie it at halftime. The second half was all Winona State as they posted five more goals in a 6-1 win on Saturday. Upper Iowa took a 1-0 lead in the fifth minute and they would put three more tallies on the board after halftime for a 4-0 win. USF hosts their final weekend home stand as they welcome Northern State and MSU Moorhead this coming Saturday and Sunday.

#9 Autumn Hayes (M, 5-11, Sr., La Crescent, Minn. / La Crescent)
-Recorded a team-high five shots on the weekend
-Tied with three other players with three on-goal shots
-Weekend-high at Upper Iowa with three shots
-Ranks third in points on team
-Second in shots and shots on goal
#2 Megan Kilroy (D, 5-2, Jr., Paramount Calif. / Saint Joseph)
-Tallied a shot in each of the games this past weekend
-Has tallied one assists so far this season with four shots
#31 Brienna Dehkes (GK, 5-11, So., Elk River, Minn. / Elk River)
-Recorded 11 saves on the weekend
-Weekend-high six saves versus Winona State
-Has amassed 60 saves so far this season

Southwest Minnesota State will return home for a pair of matches this weekend. Saturday afternoon SMSU will play MSU Moorhead at 12 p.m. at the new Marshall Regional Track & Field Complex. On Sunday the Mustangs will take on Northern State at the Schwan Regional Event Center at 1 p.m.

2013 Record: 10-7-1, 7-7-1  NSIC (9th)

- The St. Cloud State University soccer team moved its 2014 season record to 4-10-0, 3-8-0 NSIC after a pair of overtime losses in NSIC action this past weekend.  On Oct. 17, the Huskies were victims of two penalty kick goals and lost 2-1 to the University of Mary at Husky Stadium.  On Oct. 19, the Huskies lost another 2-1 OT decision against league foe Minot State at home.
- In the game against Mary, senior forward Taige Thoreson scored her team-leading fourth goal on Oct. 17.  She also leads the Huskies with 10 points this fall.  She now has nine goals during her two-year run at SCSU.  Thoreson is a transfer from Rochester Community and Technical College.  Thoreson paces SCSU this fall with 42 shots.
-  Junior defender Faith Bila added her first goal of the 2014 season with a goal against Minot State on Oct. 19.  This was Bila’s fourth point of the season and it was the first goal of her three-year career at SCSU.
- The Huskies will continue their current home stand with two NSIC games at Husky Stadium on Oct. 24 and Oct. 26.  SCSU will open the weekend with a 7 p.m. kick-off against Concordia-St. Paul on Oct. 24.  SCSU will finish the weekend with a 1 p.m. match against NSIC league leader Minnesota State, Mankato at scenic Husky Stadium.
-  The Huskies are led this year by first-year head coach Gretta Arevsen, who previously served as an assistant coach at Minnesota State, Mankato during her career.

Winona State Warriors

2013 Record: 15-4-3, 13-2-0 NSIC (2nd)

#27 Shauna Rodman (M, 5-8, Sr., Anoka, Minn. / Anoka HS)
- Rodman had a terrific weekend leading the No. 18 Warrior soccer team in a strong offensive weekend, compiling two goals and an assist while taking nine shots in wins over Sioux Falls and Southwest Minnesota State.
- Rodman scored twice – including the game winner – back-to-back just nine minutes apart and posted six shots Saturday as the Warriors defeated Sioux Falls 6-1.
- Rodman also had a hand in the game-winning goal Sunday, assisting Mikaella Sabinash in the 10th minute to give the Warriors their first of two goals in a 2-0 win over SMSU.
Winona State (13-1, 10-1 NSIC) hits the road for a pair of matchups this weekend beginning at Bemidji State Friday night before taking on  Minnesota Crookston Saturday.
