NSIC Player of the Year
#8  Ashley Hinsch
(S, 5-10, Jr., Zumbrota, Minn.  / Zumbrota-Mazeppa HS)
University of Minnesota Duluth

Ashley Hinsch earned NSIC Setter of the Week honors five times in 2014 as she averaged an NSIC-best 12.83 assists per set in NSIC contests while her 13.07 assist per set in all matches leads all of NCAA Division II. The Bulldogs attackers have hit .288 in league play thanks in large part to their setter. Hinsch has now been named an All-NSIC selection each of her first three seasons at UMD.

NSIC Libero of the Year
#9 Julie Rainey
(L, 5-9, Sr., Stewartville, Minn. / Stewartville HS)
University of Minnesota Duluth

Julie Rainey earned NSIC weekly defensive honors four times this season as she averaged a league-best 6.00 digs per NSIC set (over one more than her next closest competitor at 4.87) and had just three reception errors in all of conference play. UMD held opponents to a conference-low .129 hitting percentage. Rainey, who was named NSIC Libero of the Year in 2013, has been named to the All-NSIC First Team each of the last three seasons and was an honorable mention after her freshman campaign.

NSIC Freshman of the Year
#7  Eisha Oden
(MH, 5-11, Fr., Marshalltown, Iowa / Marshalltown HS)
Southwest Minnesota State University

Eisha Oden was voted by the league coaches as the NSIC Freshman of the Year after she hit .376 in NSIC play.  That total stands as second best in the league, as does her 1.20 blocks per set.  Oden has helped the Mustangs to a .251 team hitting percentage, third best in the NSIC this season.  Her blocking at the net has helped the Mustangs hold opponents to a .171 attack percentage, also third best in the league.

NSIC Coach of the Year
Jim Boos (13th Season)
University of Minnesota Duluth

Jim Boos led the Bulldogs to a perfect 18-0 start in the NSIC, losing just four sets along the way as the team collected 15 sweeps, including seven straight to start league play. The Bulldogs have a multi-faceted attack for the first time since early in Boos’ tenure with multiple double-digit kill collectors in each match this season. UMD averaged a league-best 15.34 kills per set with a second-best .286 attack percentage against the NSIC. The Bulldogs also play stout defense, allowing a league-low .129 opponents’ hitting percentage with 17.57 digs and 2.01 blocks per league set.
