Emily Gruber had the best weekend of her young career as she tallied an NSIC-high 23.5 points per game to go with 6.5 rebounds per game as the Golden Eagles picked up one of their biggest wins in program history with a 67-58 win at No. 7 Wayne State. Gruber notched 26 points and six rebounds in the win at Wayne State and tallied 21 points and seven rebounds in a 97-90 overtime loss at Augustana. Gruber was 52.9 percent from the field (18-34) and 83.3 percent from the charity stripe (10-12) in the two games while adding three assists and two steals.

South Division
#3 Shaunteva Ashley
G, 5-8, Sr.,
Sioux Falls, S.D.
Roosevelt HS
Augustana

Ashley guided the Vikings to two wins in NSIC play over the weekend.  The senior guard recorded the second double-double of her career in an 83-72 win at home over Bemidji State on Friday with 18 points and 13 assists. The 13 assists was a career high for Ashley and just one short of the school record for assists in a game.  Ashley followed up that performance with all-around effort in a wild 97-90 overtime win against Minnesota Crookston on Saturday, finishing with 24 points, eight assists, and seven rebounds in the contest. Ashley finished the weekend with averages of 21.0 points, 10.5 assists, 5.0 rebounds on 48.6 percent shooting from the field.  The 21 assists were ten better than the next best performance in the NSIC this past weekend. This marks the third time this season Ashely has been named NSIC South Division Player of the Week (11/17 & 11/24).
