Thielman averaged 22 points as the Golden Eagles picked up a weekend sweep over Concordia-St. Paul and Minnesota State as UMC moved to 5-1 in NSIC play this New Year. Thielman was 13-of-26 from the field for 50 percent and 7-of-11 from beyond the arc for 63.6 percent. In addition, she was 11-of-12 from the charity stripe. Thielman was instrumental in UMC’s 75-70 overtime win over Minnesota State, scoring 32 points on 10-of-19 shooting from the field, 5-of-6 from beyond the arc and 7-of-8 from the charity stripe. Thielman scored 27 points in the second half and overtime as UMC overcame a 15-point deficit to take down the Mavericks. Friday, Thielman had 12 points, two rebounds and an assist on 3-of-7 shooting from the field and 2-of-5 from beyond the arc and a perfect 4-of-4 from the line as the Golden Eagles defeated Concordia 73-61. Thielman has now tallied 20 or more points in five of UMC’s last six games.

Timmerman was a huge spark off the bench for Winona State, recording back-to-back double-doubles while helping lead the Warriors to a pair of home victories over U-Mary and Minot State. Timmerman averaged 13.5 points per game and 11 rebounds while shooting 54.5 percent from the field.  She had a great all-around game Friday against U-Mary, scoring 16 points while going 7-of-14 from the field. She also grabbed a game-high 12 rebounds along with three blocks and three steals in 24 minutes of action. She followed that up with her second double-double of the weekend on Saturday, scoring 11 points on an efficient 5-of-8 shooting while grabbing a game-high 10 rebounds. She also had two blocks and two assists along with no turnovers in the win.
