Augustana leads after round 1 of NSIC Women's Golf Championships

BRAINERD, Minn. (Madden’s on Gull Lake – Par 72 – 5915 yards) – The six-time defending NSIC Women's Golf Champions of Augustana University shot an opening round 25-over-par 313 to lead after round one of the 2015-16 NSIC Women's Golf Championship played at Madden’s on Gull Lake in Brainerd, Minn.  The Vikings hold a 14-stroke lead over Concordia-St. Paul (327 +39) and a 16-stroke lead over St. Cloud State (329 +41).  The Vikings had all five golfers finish in the top ten on the individual leaderboard after the first round.
 
The Vikings were led by Sierra Langlie who shot a three-over-par round of 75 to open up championship play.   Teammate Jordan Bormann is in second place after an opening round 78 (+6) followed by Concordia-St. Paul’s Kari Opatz and Rachel Gray who shot seven-over-par rounds of 79.   
 
Round two of the championship will be a shotgun start on Sunday at 9 a.m. The final 36 holes will be played April 23-24 at Dacotah Ridge Golf Course in Morton, Minn.
