Fiala was part of a Viking offense that put up 61 runs during the week en route to going 6-0. Fiala posted a .700 batting average (14-for-20), belted one double, blasted two home runs, had 12 RBI, 21 total bases, a 1.050 slugging percentage and a .667 on-base percentage. His 14 hits were tied for the most last week in the NSIC.  Fiala went 2-for-2 with an RBI and two runs scored in a game-one win on Wednesday against Minnesota Crookston. He tied a season high with five RBI in game two against the Golden Eagles, part of a 3-for-4 day at the plate which included his seventh home run on the year. He had at least two hits in every game during the four-game sweep of SMSU and also hit his eighth homer of the season in a 14-10 victory in game one on Sunday at Karras Park Home of Ronken Field.

McGill struck out career-high 11 batters in a 7-inning 4-1 win over Upper Iowa Sunday, allowing just two hits and an unearned run while walking just one batter.  McGill improved to 6-0 on the season in nine starts with a 3.88 ERA, striking out 62 batters in 51 innings of work.  Sunday’s gem marked the second game with 10 or more strikeouts this season and fifth game with at least eight strikeouts for McGill.
