NSIC Offensive Player of the Week
#10 Charlie Hayes (WR, 5-9, 183, Jr., Lakeville, Minn. / North HS) - Augustana

- Hauled in 11 passes for a career-high 266 yards and four touchdowns in Saturday’s win over St. Cloud State
- Hayes also set career-highs in catches and receiving touchdowns
- The four touchdown receptions ties a single-game record at Augustana
- The 64-yard reception was a career-long for Hayes
- The 266 receiving yards was the most by a Viking receiver since Tyler Schulte had 210 against SMSU on 9/25/10
- The effort by Hayes was one yard shy of tying the single game record at Augustana of 267 that was set by Sam Holsen against Wayne State on 10/24/09


NSIC Defensive Player of the Week
#5 AJ Page (DE, 6-6, 253, Sr., Minneapolis, Minn. / Hopkins HS) - Southwest Minnesota State

- Page recorded eight tackles, including two sacks, forced a pair of fumbles and recovered a fumble in SMSU’s 34-30 win over Bemidji State
- Page ranks fifth in school history with 37 tackles for loss and is tied for eighth all-time with 15 sacks
- The win on Saturday snapped a 13-game losing streak to BSU, as SMSU earned its first win in the series since 1997
- SMSU is 2-0 to start the season for the first time since 2010


NSIC Special Teams Player of the Week
#36 Carter McCauley (K, 6-1, 215, So., Owatonna, Minn. / Owatonna HS) - Winona State

- McCauley was a perfect 3-for-3 with a pair of 50+ yard field goals in a 38-7 win over Minot State
- Made a 53-yard field goal to break the previous WSU record of 47 yards
- Later made a 54-yard field goal to break his own mark
- Also made all three PATs and had three touchbacks

- Augustana returns to action this Saturday, Sept. 19 taking on MSU Moorhead on the road at 1 p.m.
- Augustana and MSU Moorhead will meet for the first time since 2013
- Augustana and MSU Moorhead will meet for just the fourth time in the all-time series
- Augustana is 3-0 all-time against the Dragons and won the last meeting 41-28 in Sioux Falls on Sept. 7, 2013
- Augustana will be playing just its second game in Moorhead, Minn.
- Bemidji State fell within the final minute at Southwest Minnesota State
- A 13-game Beavers win streak against the Mustangs was snapped with a 34-30 loss
- Sophomore quarterback Jordan Hein threw for a career-high 259 yards and tied a career-high three passing touchdowns
- The Beavers opened the second half with back-to-back touchdown drives to take a 30-20 lead
- Sophomore Evan Tompkins returned a blocked kick for a defensive PAT, the first instance for the Beavers since 2004 against Concordia-St. Paul
- BSU hosts Winona State next week, the Beavers have won three of the previous five matchups with the Warriors
- CSP fell 30-28 to MSU Moorhead as the Dragons went 94 yards in 28 seconds on a 6-play drive including a 15-yard deflected TD as time expired
- Ben Schramski completed the go-ahead TD pass from 11 yards to Vantwon Melton with 1:31 to play
- Schramski completed 14-29 for 264 yards, 2 TD passes and led CSP in rushing with 55 yards on 15 attempts with a TD run
- Alquawn Vickers led CSP with 206 all-purpose yards including 3-66 receiving, 2-30 punt returning and 5-110 kick returning
- CSP will play at Minot State on Saturday at 1:30 p.m., the Golden Bears are 4-1 against the Beavers with three straight wins
- Concordia is 1-1 in two trips to Minot, winning their last trip 43-31 in 2011
- Concordia won the last meeting 29-0 in the 2013 season opener at Sea Foam Stadium
-  Fr. punter Coleman Olivas ran 73 yards for a touchdown on a fake punt and averaged 40.3 yards/punt on four attempts, with two inside the 20
-  Seeing his first extended action, Caleb Buck entered the game to start the second half and completed 27-of-44 passes for 216 yards, one TD
-  Junior Shawn Fulwider recorded 1.5 sacks and 2.0 tackles for loss against UIU. He also had eight tackles and broke up a pass at the goal line
-  Twice the Marauders successfully executed 2-point conversions against Upper Iowa, one on a Ben Jolliffe pass and the other on a Jolliffe run
-  Next up for the Marauders is a meeting on the road against No. 1 Minnesota State
-  U-Mary is 0-3 all-time against MSU. The last meeting was a 34-21 home loss to #3 MSU in 2013
- Nathan Cole (QB, 6-4 225, Aliso Viejo, Calif.)  stepped in to replace Tra Hearns against USF and led UMC to being down just 28-21 at the half.
- Cole was 17-of-28 for 212 yards with two touchdowns and one interception in a 45-21 loss to No. 15 USF
- Adam Connette now has a passing, rushing and receiving touchdown for the Golden Eagles
- Lethzee Calderon had a breakout performance on defense with a career high 15 tackles and three pass break ups
- The Golden Eagles will take on Upper Iowa Saturday at 6 p.m. in Fayette
- UMD opened its 50th season of football at Malosky Stadium by turning back Wayne State 48-7 to extend their home winning streak to 12 games.
- Senior All-American Logan Lauters (149 yards) and freshman Jamiah Newell (135 yards) accounted for 284 of UMD’s  349 yards
 - UMD won its 51st game in its last 52 NSIC home games (a dominating run that stretches back to the 2000 season)
- Lauters now has rolled 3,200 yards on 484 attempts as a Bulldog to trail only three-time All-American Isaac Odim (4,242 between 2008-10)
- UMD will pay its first-ever visit to #12 Sioux Falls this Saturday night for a battle with its second nationally-ranked in three weeks
- The Bulldogs defeated the visiting Cougars 32-7 in the 2013 season opener in the lone previous meeting between the two clubs
- The Bulldogs have compiled an all-time NSIC winning percentage of .737 (232-81-5), which is second only to Sioux Falls’ .771 mark (27-8)
- With its 27-10 win over Northern State, MSU has now won 35 straight NSIC games
- MSU has won its last 17 NSIC games on the road
- Senior Connor Thomas established a new career-high of 173 rushing yards against Northern State
- MSU host U-Mary at 1 p.m. at Blakeslee Stadium
- Minnesota State owns a 3-0 all-time record against the University of Mary, including a 34-21 win in Bismarck during the 2013 season
- A 15-yard touchdown pass from Jake Hodge to Cory Ambrose as time expired gave MSUM a thrilling 30-28 win over Concordia-St. Paul
- The win was just the second in 11 tries against CSP
- The Dragons are 2-0 for first time since 2006
- MSUM has won five straight games dating back to the 2014 season
- Sophomore Damon Gibson, who had two catches on the game-winning drive, is averaging 33.3 yards per reception (six catches, 200 yards)
- MSUM hosts Augustana this week and will be looking for its first-ever win over the Vikings after dropping the first three meetings
- Minot State was outscored 18-0 in the second half as Winona State pulled away for a 38-7 win over the Beavers in the road opener for MSU
- Isaiah Steinwand (DB, 6-0, 204, Sr., Minot, N.D. / Minot) finished with an interception, a tipped pass that was intercepted and added six tackles
- Thomas Bryson (DL, 6-5, 238, Sr., Layton, Utah / Layton) picked up his first two sacks of season for minus-12 yards and a fumble recovery
- Minot State generated three turnovers, a season high, but MSU had five turnovers of their own
- Jarvis Mustipher (RB, 5-7, 204, Jr., Melbourne, Fla. / Melbourne) rushed for 65 yards on 18 carries to lead Minot State’s ground game
- Marcel Brinson (DB, 5-11, 196, Sr., Gilroy, Calif. / Palma) finished with a season-high nine tackles to lead the defense
- MSU will celebrate its Homecoming 2015 by playing host to Concordia-St. Paul Saturday at 1:30 p.m.
- Northern State University football fell to No. 1 Minnesota State 27-10, in week two of NSIC cross divisional action
- Kyle Lavand connected with Tyrell Anderson late in the second quarter for the pair’s first touchdowns of the season
- NSU racked up three interceptions by Tyson Zemlicka, Channing Barber, and Joe Parsley
- The Wolves take to the road next weekend and face off against Wayne State College with a 6 p.m. kickoff
- With a 45-21 win at UMC, USF has won 14-of-15 games with every victory by double digit margin and 11 of 14 wins by 20 points or more
- The Cougars recorded 562 yards in total offense, which is the fourth straight 500 yard total offense game -- all wins -- dating to last year
- In the last 14 games, the Cougars have accumulated 54 TD drives in three minutes or less, including 12 in 14 TD drives this season
- In last year, the Coo have had 34 touchdown drives of two minutes or less and 15 in less than a minute
- When USF has scored 40 or more points in a game, they are 148-1 all-time; in games in the DII era with 500 yards in total offense, USF is 12-1
- No. 12 USF, which has won five straight, faces No. 7 Minnesota Duluth at 6 p.m., at Bob Young Field
- In the first-ever and only meeting between USF and UMD in 2013, the Cougars dropped a 32-7 decision in Duluth, Minn.
- SMSU’s 34-30 win on Saturday snapped a 13-game losing streak to BSU, earning its first win in the series since the 1997 season
- SMSU is 2-0 to start the season for the first time since 2010
- SMSU has recorded more than 30 first downs in both games this season
- Ashanti Payne (RB, 5-9, 192, Jr., Minneapolis, Minn. / Robbinsdale Cooper HS) rushed for a career-high 153 yards and one touchdown on 23 carries
- The Mustangs travel to St. Cloud State for a 3 p.m. kickoff
- SMSU is 1-16 against SCSU, with the lone victory coming in 1981, 13-6
- St. Cloud State moved its record to 1-1, 0-0 NSIC North, with a 42-27 loss at Augustana University on Sept. 12
- Nate Meyer posted his first TD passes of the season in the loss at Augustana
- Matt Hentges nabbed nine passes for 128 receiving yards (a new single-game career high) and one TD
- Carvel Graham was SCSU’s top defender with eight solo tackles and 10 total tackles
- The Huskies will return to action in the always rugged NSIC with a 3 p.m. showdown against SMSU on Saturday, Sept. 19 at Husky Stadium
- In the all-time series against SMSU, the Huskies own a 16-1 series lead with five straight wins; the lone loss came in a 13-6 setback in 1981
- The Peacocks moved to 11-3 against NSIC North Division opponents with a 34-16 win at the University of Mary
- The win was UIU’s eighth straight in cross division games
- UIU used a 21-point second quarter with all three touchdowns coming on a pass play between Dimitri Morales and Jarred Edmonds
- On the day, Morales totaled 446 passing yards and 4 scores on 36 completions. He also ran for 52 yards on 7 carries.  
- UIU allowed just the two scores and a pair of two-point conversions, led by Tate Thompson (7 tackles and 2 interceptions)
- Upper Iowa returns home this Saturday, Sept. 19, for a 6 p.m. showdown under the lights at Harms-Eischeid Stadium with UMC
- Senior running back Ryan Ludlow gained a team-high 66 yards rushing on 11 carries vs. No. 9 Minnesota Duluth
- Ludlow scored Wayne State’s lone TD on a six yard pass from redshirt freshman quarterback Taylor Reedy
- Senior linebacker Nate Kroupa led the WSC defense with 10 tackles
- WSC hosts Northern State Saturday night at 6 p.m.
- NSU leads all-time series vs. WSC 13-9
- The most recent meeting in 2013 saw Northern State outlast Wayne State 29-27 in 3 OT in Aberdeen, the longest game in WSC history
- The Winona State football team snapped a five-game overall and home losing streak with 38-7 win at Minot State
- WSU improved to 2-0 in its all-time series with Minot State
- Kicker Carter McCauley set WSU’s two longest field goals with a 53 and 54 yarder
- Junior quarterback Jack Nelson threw for 303 yards and three touchdowns
- The Warriors head to Bemidji State this week for the 74th meeting, with WSU holding a 43-29-1 series lead
