NSIC Offensive Player of the Week
#14 Blake Gimbel (QB, 6-4, 205, So., Marshalltown, Iowa / Marshalltown HS) - SMSU
- Accounted for six touchdowns in SMSU’s 48-9 victory over MSU Moorhead in a battle of undefeated teams
- Gimbel completed 18 of 28 pass attempts for a career-high 299 yards
- Threw a career-high five touchdowns with no interceptions and ran one in from a yard out
- SMSU led 14-9 late in the second quarter, before Gimbel and the SMSU offense scored 34 consecutive points
- Gimbel has completed 88 of 136 passes (64.7) this season for 955 yards with 10 touchdowns and one interception

NSIC Defensive Player of the Week
#33 Tyler Henderson (LB, 6-3, 234, Sr., Mankato, Minn. / Mankato West HS) - Minnesota State

- Recorded six tackles (2 solo) in a 63-3 win at UMC
- Intercepted a pass and returned it 33 yards for a touchdown
- Was part of a MSU defense that allowed only three points and 138 total yards
- Had two pass breakups and half a tackle for a loss of one yard

NSIC Special Teams Player of the Week
#28 Isaac Aanerud (K/P, 6-1, 177, R-Fr., Otsego, Minn. / Rogers HS) - Bemidji State

- Totaled career-highs in field goals made (4), field goal long (50 yards) and extra point conversions (5) in 47-7 win over CSP
- Made four of five field goal attempts from 20, 28, 28 and 50 yards
- His 50-yard field goal is BSU’s longest since 53-yard field goal on Oct. 15, 1977
- Converted five extra point attempts without a miss
- Responsible for 17 points in the Beavers’ first win of season

- Augie beat MISU 41-17 at Kirkeby-Over Stadium
- Trey Heid registered his third 300-plus passing game finishing 23 for 36 for 329 yards and three touchdowns
- Justin Greenway finished with 211 all-purpose years including a career-high two touchdowns
- Augustana opens South Division play at home this Saturday, hosting Southwest Minnesota State at 1 p.m. at Kirkeby-Over Stadium
- Augustana is 16-3 all-time against Southwest Minnesota State
- Augustana and SMSU first met in 1990
- SMSU won the first two meetings in the all-time series in 1990 and 1991 before Augustana reeled-off 15-straight wins over the Mustangs
- The Mustangs defeated the Vikings 34-24 in 2013 in Sioux Falls to snap the 15-game win streak
- Augustana won last year’s meeting 47-3 in Marshall, Minnesota
- Bemidji State’s 47-7 win over Concordia-St. Paul is the highest BSU point output since Nov. 10, 2012 in a 49-0 win
- The Beavers outgained the Golden Bears 517-109 in total yards and 32-5 in first downs
- BSU scored on 9-of-12 drives, including five touchdowns and four field goals
- The BSU defense forced CSP to eight three-and-outs on 12 offensive drives
- Sophomore quarterback Jordan Hein set career-highs in passing yards (272), passing touchdowns (4) and total TDs (5)

- The Golden Bears fell to 1-3 with a 47-7 loss to Bemidji State at Sea Foam Stadium
- Senior ILB Jahphet Grant tied the program’s second most tackles in a game with 18
- Senior ILB Jordan Halverson had 10 tackles
- Halverson moved into second in career history at CSP with 331, 11 shy of Brian Doyle’s career record (342, 2001-04)
- Sophomore punter Sam Maedke produced the second most punting yards in game (385) while averaging 42.8 yards on nine punts
- Concordia opens NSIC South play on Homecoming with a noon kickoff against Winona State
- CSP is 4-13 all-time in the series with WSU and 1-5 at home and 0-2 at Sea Foam Stadium
- CSP has won the last two meetings with the Warriors
- Senior RB Adam Woroniecki ran for a career-high 103 yards on 14 carries with a long of 67 against Wayne State
- Redshirt freshman David Johnson averaged 53 yards/punt on four attempts against WSC, including a long of 71 yards and three total over 50.
- Sophomore Brennen Doan caught 10 passes vs. WSC and is 28th in receptions in the NCAA (6.8/game)
- Junior CB Danielle Whitaker ranks 33rd nationally in passes defensed (1.5/game)
- U-Mary opens NSIC North play at Bemidji State on Oct. 3
- In a series of close contests, BSU holds a 5-4 edge over U-Mary
- Five of the nine games were decided by no more than a touchdown
- The Golden Eagle football team fell 63-3 to No. 1 Minnesota State University, Mankato
- UMC was led by Ali Alkhatib on defense with nine tackles, one interception and one forced fumble
- The Golden Eagles were held to just 138 yards of offense on the weekend by one of the nation’s top defenses
- UMC will open up their NSIC North schedule this weekend as they head to face St. Cloud State Oct. 3 at 1 p.m.
- The Golden Eagles have been led offensively on the season by Triston Richert, who has 14 catches for 192 yards and a touchdown
- Drew Bauer accounted for nearly 85% of UMD’s total yards (389 of 458) in its 28-24 win over then undefeated Upper Iowa
- UMD will open up the NSIC North Division portion of its 2015 schedule this Saturday night at MSU Moorhead
- The Bulldogs are the seven-time NSIC North Division champion
- The Bulldogs are a sizzling 43-2 in NSIC North Division assignments (24-0 at home)
- The Bulldogs have outscored the opposition 81-38 in the first half, but have been outscored 43-48 in the final 30 minutes of play
- The Bulldogs won 13 in a row versus MSU Moorhead
- Over the past seven games UMD has outscored the Dragons by a combined 410-132
- Senior placekicker Drew Brees, who also handles UMD’s punting duties, leads UMD in scoring with 31 points
- Virgil Hammond rushed 10 times for 112 yards and four touchdowns, all career highs
- Tyler Henderson recorded six tackles and a pick six
- Minnesota State has won 37 consecutive NSIC games dating back to week one of the 2012 season at a 63-3 win at UMC
- Junior Virgil Hammond became the first Maverick since Mitch Brozovich to record four touchdown carries in a game
- For the second time in program history, MSU had three places rush for more than 100 yards
- The MSU defense has not allowed a touchdown in 10 consecutive quarters.
- The Mavericks own a 9-0 all-time record against Upper Iowa, including a 4-0 record in Fayette
- MSUM saw its six-game winning streak, which was dating back to the 2014 season, end with a 48-9 loss to SMSU
- Dragon special teams delivered with a blocked punt and a blocked field goal
- Dragons will face nationally-ranked Minnesota Duluth at home this week
- MSUM looking for first win over Bulldogs since 1999; UMD has won 13 straight meetings in series and holds an overall 32-20-4 series lead
- Senior receiver Adam Jiskra surpassed 200 career receptions, becoming the second player to do so (Jabari Taylor)
- The Beavers gave up three long Augustana drives to start the game to fall behind 21-0 en route to a 41-17 loss
- Porter Sturm finished with six catches for 153 yards and two TDs, including a career-best 86-yard TD catch
- Lucas Romanski passed for a career-high 290 yards with two TDs and an interception in his second a career start
- MSU’s defense had three players with double figure tackles
- Minot State finished with 5.0 sacks in the game as well
- The Beavers return home for a 6 p.m. match up Northern State in the first divisional game of the year

- Kyle Lavand threw for 122 yards, and connected with Cody Kraft for the tight end’s first touchdown of the season
- Devin Olson tallied 13 tackles and 1.5 tackles for a loss of seven yards
- The Wolves will be on the road next week as they travel to Minot State for a 6 p.m. kickoff
- Max Michely rushed for 110 yards and a TD in a 28-10 win at Northern State
- Solomon St. Pierre had two interceptions and a tackle in the win
- USF has a 14-2 all-time record versus NSIC north teams
- Cougars have 16 wins in last 17 games, including seven straight dating to a year ago
- Owns 12 wins in 18 league road games, including a 28-10 decision over Northern State on Gypsy Days last Saturday  
- USF (4-0) has won 16-of-17 games, including 15 by double digits, as they tangle with the Wayne State (3-1) at 1 p.m.
- USF is 3-0 all-time vs. Wayne State, including a 63-28 victory at Bob Young Field on a snowy day last Nov. 15

- St. Cloud State scored 14 points in the fourth quarter to overcome Winona State by a 31-20 score
- The win at Winona was the first for the program at Winona since 1980, but was the 15th time in the last 17 games that SCSU has defeated WSU
- SCSU is 2-2 on the season for the 12th time since 2000
- Nate Meyer ran for 109 and threw for 215 in the win with a long of 55-yards
- Sophomore running back Jaden Huff led the team in rushing with 126 yards on 23 carries
- Jameson Parsons surpassed 100 yards receiving with five catches for 115 yards against Winona State
- Brady Westart led the team with a pair of sacks and 2.5 tackles for loss in the win…Westart has tallied five tackles for loss the last two weeks
- Upper Iowa took a 24-21 lead midway through the 4th quarter against #25 UMD after trailing 18-0 at half, but fell to the Bulldogs 28-24
- Freshman running back Derrick Portis ran for 107 yards and 2 touchdowns on 18 carries
- Brady Beuschel converted his fourth field goal of the season (30 yds)
- Alex Wahl recorded 15 tackles including 1.5 for loss, while Jevell Rollins and Cole Stephen each had 9 and Tate Thompson added 8
- The Peacocks are 12-4 against the NSIC North; the loss snapped a nine-game win streak
- This Saturday, the Peacocks (3-1) will host #1 Minnesota State University, Mankato (4-0) at 6 p.m. in Harms-Eischeid Stadium
 - Wayne State improved to 3-1 with a 24-10 win at the University of Mary
 - Head coach Dan McLaughlin ties all-time WSC wins leader with 62nd win as Wildcat head coach
 - Senior running back Ryan Ludlow rushed for 165 yards on 29 carries
 - Junior defensive tackle Eli Vosler recorded career-high 10 tackles for Wildcat defense
 - Wayne State hosts #7 Sioux Falls Saturday at 1 p.m.
 - Sioux Falls has won all three meetings against the Wildcats, including a 63-28 win in the season-finale snow storm in Sioux Falls last year
- WSU dropped to 2-2 on the season with a 31-20 loss to St. Cloud State on Homecoming in Winona
- WSU had a 17-7 lead and led 20-17 early in the fourth quarter before back-to-back SCSU touchdown runs
- Senior WR Alan May caught seven passes for 126 yards and a touchdown
- Senior LB Collin Corcoran recorded 12 tackles against SCSU and now leads the NSIC with 46 this season
- Winona State begins South Division play with a trip to Concordia-St. Paul Saturday at 12 p.m.
- WSU has lost the past two meetings with CSP and hasn’t played at Sea Foam Stadium since 2010
