NSIC Offensive Player of the Week
#7 Jordan Hein (QB, 6-2, 220, Jr., Perham, Minn. / Perham HS) - Bemidji State

- Moved up two major record categories in BSU’s 48-7 win at St. Cloud State
- Threw four touchdown passes to move into second all-time at BSU in career touchdown passes with 52
- Added a rushing touchdown to move into a tie for second all-time in career touchdowns responsible for with 69
- Totaled 381 yards passing for his third 300+ yard game of the season
- All four touchdown passes came from 25+ yards
- Averaged 22.4 yards per completion with no interceptions
- Named NSIC Player of the Week for the second time this season (9/12/16)

NSIC Defensive Player of the Week
#27 Tyler Flud (LB, 6-0, 225, Sr., St. Paul, Minn. / Cretin-Derham Hall HS) - SMSU

- Finished with a team-high 10 tackles, including 3.5 for loss, one sack, one interception and one pass break-up in SMSU’s 28-14 win over CSP
- Leads SMSU with 77 tackles and is also the team-leader with nine tackles for loss and is tied for the team lead with two sacks.
- Now ranks seventh in school history with 285 tackles and is ninth all-time with 153 solo tackles
- Helped anchor a dominate defensive effort, limiting CSP to 284 yards of total offense, including just 90 in the second half, limiting CSP to 13 first downs in the game and scoreless in the second half

NSIC Special Teams Player of the Week
#29 Nathan Shaw (K/P, 6-2, 175, Jr., Acworth, Ga. / Allatoona HS) - Northern State

- Scored 10 points, connecting on seven PATs and a 20 yard field goal in 52-7 win at UMary
- Is 8-9 on the season for field goals and 28-30 on PAT attempts
- Named NSIC Player of the Week for the second straight week
 
Augustana University Vikings
Last Week Season Record Streak Preseason Poll
W 21-20 vs. WSU 6-3, 3-2 South W2 2nd Overall, 2nd South
Team Notes
- Augustana’s Matt Heller caught a four-yard touchdown pass with 18 seconds remaining and Trey Heid ran for a 2-point conversion to give the Vikings a 21-20 lead
- Winona State was able to get two plays off in the final seconds but a Hail Mary pass fell incomplete and the Vikings picked up their second straight win
- Augustana finished with 464 yards of total offense, marking its ninth straight game with over 400 yards in a game this season
- Augustana held Winona State to season-lows in points (20) and total offense (339)
Top Performer(s)
- Senior quarterback Trey Heid became the NSIC’s career all-time leader in total offense in Saturday’s win over Winona State
- Heid passed for 279 yards and two touchdowns while also rushing 16 times for 67 yards and a score
- Heid’s two-point conversion gave Augustana the 21-20 victory
- Heid has accumulated 12,262 yards of total offense in 42 career conference games
- Heid also tied Augustana’s single season record for passing touchdowns. He has 32 on the season.
- Matt Heller recorded his sixth 100-yard receiving game of the season on Saturday
- Heller caught nine passes for 108 yards and a touchdown
- Heller went over 1,000 receiving yards on the season in Saturday’s game
- He has caught 63 passes for 1,103 yards and 15 touchdowns in 2016
- Kirby Hora recorded nine tackles and two forced fumbles in the win over Winona State
- Bryson Hamilton registered four tackles, including two sacks, giving him 7.0 sacks on the season putting him one shy of tying the single season record

-  Nathan Cole is No. 5 all-time with pass completions in his career
- He needs just four completions to surpass A.J. Barge for fourth and 18 to move past Tim Ennis for third
- Adam Connette is ranked second all-time now with 13 career touchdowns after two touchdowns against Minnesota Duluth. He surpassed Marcus Cheatham and Mark Olsonawski’s mark of 12
- The Golden Eagles have had six interceptions in the last three weeks after not having an interception in the first six weeks of the season. Will Cross, Aeric Berner and Jake Newman all had interceptions against Minot State and Kenneth McChristion had a pick against UMD
- Isaiah Armstrong is leading the Golden Eagles with 5.5 during his senior season
- Will Cross leads the Golden Eagles in tackles this season as he has come on as a redshirt freshman. Cross has 72 tackles with 4.5 tackles for loss and an interception
- Adam Connette is fourth all-time in receiving yards in a season with 678 this season. He needs just 34 to move past Jonathan David for third all-time and 60 to break Mark Olsonawski’s record of 747 yards

- Nathan Cole was 12-of-22 for 232 yards passing with two touchdowns
- Rod Stewart had six grabs for 166 yards and a touchdown against UMD
- Adam Connette tallied eight catches for 74 yards and two touchdowns
- Omar Porte had eight tackles against UMD

Last Week Season Record Streak Preseason Poll

Team Notes
- UMD currently tops all NCAA II clubs in time of possession (36:32) and ranks third in sacks (4.22 per game), fourth in total offense (531.0 yards per game), fifth in first downs (236) and sixth in scoring offense (43.6 points per game)
- In its 54-23 triumph at Minnesota Crookston Saturday, UMD was held to a season-low 446 yards of total offense but got nearly half of that output (209 yards) in the opening 15 minutes of play, when it raced out to a 26-0 lead
- UMD is a perfect 9-0 lifetime against the Marauders  with the first of those victories coming in 2006
- The Bulldogs will put a number of streaks on the line Saturday including consecutive overall wins (eight), consecutive overall home wins (a school-record 21) and consecutive NSIC North Division home wins (the Bulldogs are a perfect 30-0 lifetime against those foes)

- Senior Beau Bofferding rushed for four first-half touchdowns and then caught a 10-yard scoring strike from senior quarterback Drew Bauer 5:11 into third quarter before calling it a day this past Saturday. Those five touchdowns were just one shy of the program record set by All-American running back Ted McKnight against Southwest Minnesota State University back in 1976
- Sophomore wide out  Jason Balts caught six passes for 177 receiving yards -- the most by a Bulldog in exactly 11 years
- Redshirt freshman safety Bill Atkins parlayed his first collegiate interception into a 20-yard pick six against Minnesota Crookston – UMD’s first defensive touchdown of  2016
- Drew Bauer is averaging more total yards per game this season (342.0) than all but six NCAA Ii quarterbacks

Team Notes
- MSU saw its four-game winning streak vs. USF snapped with its 24-14 loss last weekend
- Senior Taylor Johnson and freshman Shane Zylstra each caught a touchdown pass vs. USF
- Junior Brendan Chrystal led the MSU defense with 13 tackles vs. USF, while Senior Mat Andriano added 10 
- This is the first season since the 2011 season that the Mavericks have lost three games in the regular season

Team Notes
- MSUM picked up back-to-back wins for the first time this season with 42-24 win over Minot State on Saturday
- Damon Gibson set a new single-season MSUM record with 1,184 yards receiving and picked up his eighth 100-yard receiving game of the season
- The Dragons are now 4-1 at home this season
- In his last four games, QB Demetrius Carr has completed 59-of-90 passes for 992 yards and 13 touchdowns – and no interceptions
- MSUM has scored 40 points in back-to-back games for the first time since 1995 season
- The Dragons committed a season-low one penalty in the win

- QB Demetrius Carr threw for a career-high five TD and completed 15-of-23 passes for 277 yards in win over Minot
- WR Damon Gibson had seven catches for 129 yards and a score; it was his eighth 100-yard receiving game of the season
- RB Austin Stone rushed for 97 yards and a score
- WR Hunter Braaten caught four passes for 114 yards and two scores
- DB Michael Strand had team-high seven tackles, including one for loss
- DE Drew Lingle had five tackles and team-best 1.5 sacks.
- CB Jerry Raye had an interception, his second of the season

Team Notes
- Scored first on a Ben Zahniser run to take a 7-0 lead, but couldn’t slow down Minnesota State University Moorhead, falling 42-24
- Rushed for 146 yards and finished with 307 total yards as a team
- Converted 11 of 17 third downs, while finishing with a season second-best 20 first downs
- Held a commanding 25:02 time of possession advantage thanks in part to a huge 16 play, 78 yard drive that took 7:51 to complete
Top Performer(s)
- Jarvis Mustipher rushed for a season-best 93 yards on 15 carries, averaging 6.2 per carry to pace the offense
- Ben Zahniser scored two to push his total to eight in the past three games as he finished with 72 yards rushing
- Aaron La Deaux kicked a 45-yard field goal, his longest of the season
- Michael Jenkins finished with seven solo and eight total tackles to pace the defense

Northern State University Wolves
Last Week Season Record Streak Preseason Poll
W 52-7 at U-Mary 5-4, 3-2 North W2 6th Overall, 3rd North
Team Notes
- The Northern State football team broke the 500 mark in North Division play with a 52-7 victory over the University of Mary
- NSU saw seven different Wolves scoring in the contest, both on offense and defense
- The Wolves tallied their second straight game with over 500 yards of total offense, notching 313 rushing and 261 passing
Top Performer(s)
- Christian McAlvain completed 9-of-21 attempts and threw for 186 yards and two touchdowns
- Jake Comeaux tallied his first career passing touchdown to Tyler Oftedahl, who also notched the first TD of his career
- Stephen Erlandson led the NSU rushers with a season high 96 yards, while Conner Doherty led the Northern receivers with 62 yards
- Josh Coyle led the defense with seven tackles, while Brendon Hoellein notched the defensive touchdown off an interception

University of Sioux Falls Cougars
Last Week Season Record Streak Preseason Poll
W 24-14 vs MSU 9-0, 5-0 South W9 3rd Overall, 2nd South
Team Notes
- USF leads the NSIC with an 9-0 record and the NSIC South at 5-0 after a 24-14 victory at Minnesota State on Oct. 29
- USF has extended their consecutive year winning streak to 23, which is the fifth longest across any division
- USF has won nine or more games in four straight years.
- The victory over MSU is arguably USF's biggest in the NCAA DII era as the Cougars clinched a share of the program's first-ever NSIC South title
- USF also maintains a one-game lead over Minnesota-Duluth with two to play in the race for the NSIC overall title
- USF, which now has won nine games or more in four of the five seasons in the NSIC, is 9-0 for the first time at the D2 level
- The Cougars ended MSU's three-game winning streak and defeated the Mavericks for the first time as an NSIC member, dating back to 2012
- It is also the first win against the Mavericks since a 7-0 win in 1937
- As a result of the win, the Cougars, who were ranked #2 in the Super Region last Monday, not only have a 43-10 all-time NSIC record but now have defeated every team in the league
- Junior running back Max Mickey, who has seven 100-yard rushing games this season, continues to have the best rushing average per carry total in DII at 9.8.  He had 165 yards against MSU and a league leading 1,329 rushing yards
- USF, which ranks first in the NSIC in total offense (536.6 yards per game) and rushing offense (341.9 yards per game) has had at least 249 yards rushing and over 400 yards in total offense in all nine games this season

- Max Mickey had 172 all purpose yards, including 20 carries for 165 yards rushing in the 24-14 win at Minnesota State 
- Michael Mehling had a career-best 13 tackles, sack and TFL in the win over MSU
- Luke Papilion had 234 yards in total offense, including 104 rushing and 130 passing, with three total TDs in win over MSU

Last Week Season Record Streak Preseason Poll

Team Notes
- SMSU snapped its three-game losing streak with the victory over CSP
- SMSU rushed a school record 70 times in the victory, breaking the previous mark of 69 rush attempts set in 1973
- SMSU rushed for a season-high 312 yards in the win
- SMSU held CSP to 284 yards of offense—the lowest by an SMSU opponent this season
- Due to injuries, SMSU has had six different running backs record at least 16 rush attempts this season
- SMSU will play at Winona State this Saturday in the second annual “Battle for the Sledge” game. SMSU won the inaugural game last season in Marshall
- SMSU has forced a least one turnover in each game this season and has forced two or more in six of nine games

-Freshman running back Max Simmons rushed for 138 yards and one touchdown on 23 carries in the first half in the win over CSP. He missed the entire second half with an injury
-Simmons has scored 14 touchdowns in last seven games and also set the school freshman rushing touchdown record for a single-season with 14
-Simmons’ 14 touchdowns ranks first in all divisions of NCAA football for freshman players
-Junior Nate Huot caught a team-high five passes for 60 yards and one touchdown in the win over CSP

St. Cloud State University Huskies
Last Week Season Record Streak Preseason Poll
L 48-7 vs. BSU 4-5, 3-2 North L2 9th Overall, 4th North
Team Notes
- SCSU fell to Bemidji State by a 48-7 score
- The margin of defeat for SCSU was the largest ever in a series that began in 1927
- The previous was a 38-point loss in 1958.
- The Huskies have lost their last two games
- SCSU has also dropped consecutive games to the Beavers
- Jameson Parsons went over 1,000 yards for the season with his 153 against BSU
- It was / is the seventh 1,000 yard receiving season in school history and Parsons is only the second SCSU receiver to accomplish the feat in back-to-back years joining Ben Nelson (2001 and 2002)
- Jaden Huff ran for his seventh touchdowns of the season
- Huff has scored 20 rushing touchdowns the last two years

- Nate Meyer – 19 completions for 219 yards

Team Notes
 - The Peacocks built an 11-point lead in the third quarter and then held on for a 35-30 victory over Wayne State College on Senior Day in Fayette
- Upper Iowa forced a turnover on downs after the Wildcats pushed the ball down to the UIU 4-yard line as time ran out in the NSIC South Division battle
- A pair of incomplete passes after tremendous pressure in the backfield ended the WSC threat and gave the home team the victory
Top Performer(s)
- Dimitri Morales thew for 265 yards and 3 scores on 22 completions and added 76 yards and a score on the ground, while Derrick Portis ran for 164 yards with no scores
- Jalen Amis pulled in 10 catches for 167 yards and a score to lead the receiving corps
- On defense, Jordan Rommes, Mitchel Siech and Zach Ries all had 8 tackles in the contest with Zach Gardner adding 6
- Rommes made his team-high 3rd interception of the season, Gardner forced a fumble and Jojo Simpson recovered the ball
- Upper Iowa recognized their 18 seniors on the field prior to the game with family and friends on the field to meet them

- Junior running back Alex Kline rushed for season-high 66 yards on 19 carries with two TD’s and had another 74 yards receiving on six catches
- Junior quarterback Zach Osborn accounted for 400 yards of total offense vs. Upper Iowa, completing 29 of 45 passes for 314 yards and one TD while rushing for a team-high 86 yards on 20 attempts and one TD
- Sophomore defensive back Jamaal Conway-Smith had team-high nine tackles with one breakup
