NSIC Player of the Year
#34 Dan Jansen (C, 6-9, 240, Sr., Orange City, Iowa / MOC-Floyd Valley HS)
Augustana University
- For the second straight season Daniel Jansen has been named the NSIC Player of the Year
- Averaged 20.0 points and 8.4 rebounds starting all 22 conference games and playing 28 minutes per game
- Finished the NSIC season ranked fourth in scoring and rebounding
- Averaged 2.0 assists, 1.2 steals and 0.5 blocks per game in NSIC play
- Led the team in scoring in seven of 22 conference games and scored 20 or more points in 11 games, including a season-high 31 at Upper Iowa on Jan. 23
- Recorded seven of his 10 double-doubles in conference play
- Had two or more steals in seven NSIC games and dished out three or more assists in seven contests
- Was named NSIC South Division Player of the Week four times during the season tying the NSIC record for player of the week awards during one season
- Shot 50.7 percent from the field, 38.7 percent from 3-point range and 77.2 percent from the free throw line
- In 2014-15, Jansen became the first player to earn conference player of the year honors since 1982-83
- Jansen was named the NSIC’S Freshman of the Year in 2012-13
NSIC Defensive Player of the Year
#32 Casey Schilling (F, 6-6, 215, Sr., Ellsworth, Minn. / Ellsworth HS)
Augustana University
- Named the NSIC’s Defensive Player of the Year for the second straight season
- Started all 22 conference games and averaged a league-leading 9.2 rebounds to go along with 1.2 steals and 0.8 blocks per game
- Had at least one steal in 16 of 22 conference games and had at least one block in 11 games
- Recorded eight double-doubles in NSIC play and grabbed three or more defensive rebounds in 21 of 22 games
- Grabbed 10 or more defensive rebounds three times in NSIC play
- Averaged 19.5 points per game while shooting 53.5 percent from the field
- Led the team in rebounding in 15 of 22 NSIC contests while also leading the team in scoring in 11 of 22 conference games
- Was named the NSIC’s South Division Player of the Week four times in 2015-16 tying the NSIC record for most player of the week awards in a season
NSIC FRESHMAN OF THE YEAR
#20 Gage Davis (G/F, 6-4, 200, Fr., Bolingbrook, Ill. / Bolingbrook HS)
St. Cloud State University
- Averaged 19.9 points per game in league games to rank fifth in conference
- Scored 25 or more points in six of the team’s 22 league games with a high of 36 against Wayne State (1/16/16)
- His 36 points against Wayne State was the most for an SCSU player since Taylor Witt scored 39 points against Augustana during the 2011 season
- Recorded all nine of his double-doubles on the season in NSIC play
- Had three straight double-doubles, all in league games, from Nov. 28 – Dec. 5
- His three straight double-doubles was the longest streak of double-doubles since Andrew Bernstetter also had three straight during the 2011 season.
- Davis’ individual career-highs for points (36), rebounds (13), assists (8), field goals made (14), free throws made (11) and blocks (3) all came in NSIC play
- Has scored in double figures in 26 of the team’s 28 games this season and has led the team in scoring in 12 games, rebounding 14 games and assists in eight games.
- Was named the NSIC Player of the Week on Dec. 7, 2015
- Set the school record for scoring among all first year players at SCSU with his 546 points in 28 games bettering Dan Hagen’s previous mark of 482 points during the 1977-78 season
NSIC NEWCOMER OF THE YEAR
#1 Jalen Pendleton (G, 6-2, 200, Sr., Evansville, Ind. / Bosse HS)
Minnesota State University, Mankato
- Averaged 19.4 points, 5.0 rebounds and 4.8 assists per game in NSIC games. His 19.4 points and 4.8 assists both led the team.
- Surpassed 20 points in eight conference games.
- Shot 137-of-182 (.753) from the free throw line in NSIC contests.
- Shot 43.5% form the field in 22 conference games.
- Became the first Maverick to record a triple-double with 11 points, 10 rebounds and 12 assists vs. Concordia-St. Paul.
- Was the first Maverick since 2005 to score more than 40 points in a game as he tallied 42 vs. Northern State.
- Led the team with 21 steals in conference action.
NSIC Coach of the Year

Augustana University
- In his 13th season at Augustana, has led Augustana to back-to-back NSIC Regular Season Championships
- Set a new NSIC single season record for conference wins with 21 in 2015-16 finishing 21-1 in conference play
- Set the single season record for conference wins in a season last year as well finishing 20-2 in NSIC play to win a share of the NSIC Regular Season Championship
- Has led Augustana to two straight NSIC South Division titles and a 41-3 record in NSIC play over the last two seasons
- Augustana is 25-2 in 2015-16 and 56-5 in the last two seasons combined under the direction of Billeter
- In 2015-16, Augustana led the NSIC in scoring (92.5 points per game), scoring margin (+20.7), 3-point field goal percentage (43.0 percent), rebounding offense (39.3 rebounds per game), rebounding margin (+7.5), assists (19.5 per game), turnover margin (+3.82), assist-to-turnover ratio (2.0), and 3-point field goals made (11.1 per game)
