NSIC Men’s Field Athlete of the Week
Elijah Pitchford (Jumps, Fr., Waukesha, Wis. / Waukesha South HS) - St. Cloud State

- Won the triple jump at the USF Open with a school record leap of 49-8.5 (15.15m)
- The mark met NCAA provisional qualifying standards and is the eighth longest leap in Division II this season
- Broke the previous school record of Scott Weber of 49-4.5 set during the 1990 season

NSIC Men’s Track Athlete of the Week
Josh Barrows (Hurdles, Fr., Helena, Mont. / Helena HS) - Augustana

- Finished first in the men’s 400-meter hurdles at the USF Open with a time of 55.29
- This time is the fasted in the NSIC so far this season
- Ranks as the 61st fastest time in Division II this season

- Competed at the USF Open this past weekend
Men’s Track
- Josh Barrows finished first in the men’s 400-meter hurdles at the USF Open with a time of 55.29
- Ryan Heuer finished in first in the men’s 110-meter hurdles crossing the line at 14.70
- Justin Greenway finished in second in the men’s 100-meter dash with a time of 11.03
- Augustana will be a split squad next weekend as they travel to California for the Mount Sac Relays and Iowa for the Sioux City Relays
 
Concordia-St. Paul
Men’s Field
- Tyler Naumowicz, the NSIC indoor heptathlon winner, took the crown among attached athletes in the decathlon at the MIAA vs NSIC Showdown
- Naumowicz’s 6262 points were good enough for the top spot
- Josh Johanson finished with 5645 points in his first career decathlon

University of Mary
- U-Mary hosted the Al Bortke Open and posted the top collegiate finish in six different events
Men’s Track
- Chris Jessop won the 3,000 meter run by more than 18 seconds with a time of 9:06.60
- Sam Mackedanz and Joe Berger placed 1-2 in the high jump with an effort of 2.0 meters
- Derek Myers and Steven Gordon registered the top two times by collegians in the 1,500 meter run with times of 4:07.89 and 4:10.19
- Corey Berner was the top collegiate finisher in the 200 meter dash as he ate up the track in 21.77 seconds
Men’s Field
- William Kaigler won the triple jump at the Al Bortke Open
- Kaigler’s covered an NCAA provisional qualifying distance of 14.75 meters
- Kaigler earned his second straight meet win in the triple jump
- Dustin Rueb narrowly won the long jump title with a mark of 6.91 meters, winning by .02 meters
- The Marauders next compete in three different meets in California on April 14-16 and at the Blue Hawk Games in Dickinson, N.D., on April 16  

Minnesota Duluth
- UMD competed at the Ashton May Invitational on the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse
Men’s Track
- Darrick Jackson was eighth in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:59.45
Men’s Field
- Garret Schleis leaped 42-04 in the triple jump to place fourth
- Next up for UMD is the Concordia University-St. Paul’s Holst Invitational on Saturday

MInnesota State
Men’s Track
- Senior Matthew Stocker won the 1500-meter run at the USF Open in a time of 4:01.88
Men’s Field
- Junior Bryan Caffin placed third in the hammer throw with a toss of 172-02 at the USF Open
- Caffin also placed fourth in the shot put with a mark of 50-3.25

MSU Moorhead
Men’s Track
- Brady Speicher continued his stellar 2015-16 athletic year with a win in the 800-meter run at the Al Bortke Open
- Speicher ran a winning time of 1:54.62, which is the fastest in the NSIC this season
Men’s Field
- Andrew Werk won the hammer throw at the Al Bortke Open
- Werk won with a toss of 165-7, which is the sixth-best toss in the NSIC so far in 2016

Minot State
- Minot State had two events winners to highlight its weekend at the University of Mary Al Bortke Open
Men’s Track
- Dylan Harvey raced to a time of 57.92 seconds to win the men’s 400-meter hurdles event, his first title of the year
- Devan Shumway finished with a pair of personal bests in the 1,500 and 3,000-meters
- Both Lucas Leitner and Josh Drew set PRs in both the 100 and 200 meter dashes
Men’s Field:
- Earning his first collegiate title, freshman Christopher Tom topped all competitors with a long jump of 12-11.5
- The Beavers stay in state as they travel to Dickinson State for their annual Blue Hawk Games Friday

Northern State
- Northern State competed at the MIAA/NSIC Showdown in Maryville, Missouri
Men’s Track
- Dylon Hollingsworth was the top placing runner for NSU, finishing sixth in the 400-meter hurdles. He was also a member of the 4x100-meter and 4x400-meter relay teams
Men’s Field
- TJ Hochstetler led the Wolves in the decathlon finishing in fifth place with 5,733 points, which ranks him third currently in the NSIC
- Freshman Deshonn Brown opened the Saturday field events for the Wolves, winning the high jump
- Lucas Osowski broke then ten year old school record in the hammer throw with a 49.38-meter toss finishing fourth overall in the event which ranks tenth in the NSIC
- The Wolves will continue competition this weekend from across the United States. Northern will take a shortened team out to California for a quad of meets, including the Mount Sac relays, while a full team squad will travel to the Sioux City Relays

Sioux Falls
 - Sioux Falls hosted the USF Open on Sunday, April 10 and crowned two individual champions
Men’s Track
 - Steven Brown won the men’s 5,000-meter run with a time of 15:48.90 and was followed by two USF runners in third and fourth place
Men’s Field
 - Scott Greenman captured his third pole vault title of the season, surpassing five meters for the third time this year
 - Greenman cleared 5.02 meters (16-5.5) on his first attempt for the title
 - Jagger Gran also cleared 5.02 meters for second place, and Jacob Zebedee was third at 4.87 meters (15-11.75)
 - The Cougars now head south to the Sioux City Relays on April 15 and 16

Southwest Minnesota State
Men’s Field
- Junior thrower Alex Weis had a strong day at the University of Sioux Falls Open on Sunday
- Weis placed second in the hammer throw with an NCAA provisional mark of 56.16m
- Weis finished second in the shot put with a toss of 16.07m
- Weis also finished sixth in the discus with a toss of 47.64m

St. Cloud State
- St. Cloud State competed at Northwest Missouri State in the Heptathlon  at the MIAA / NSIC Showdown
Men’s Track
-Sophomore Isaiah Pitchford won the 400m dash (49.84), while his sophomore classmate Marcus Welk was the runner up (50.26) in the event
- Junior Johnathan Hess finished in second in the 5000m (16:35.66)
Men’s Field
- Senior thrower Ryan Johnson won the hammer with his NCAA Provisional Qualifying throw of  189-05
- Johnson also finished fifth in both the discus (156-9) and the shot put (50-00.25)
- Freshman Elijah Pitchford won the triple jump with his school record and NCAA outdoor provisional qualifying mark leap of 49-8.50
- Keyshawn Davis finished as the runner up in the triple jump 45-3
- Davis had a strong individual meet in winning the men’s long jump with an NCAA provisional mark of  24-07
-Junior Quinn Anderson placed second in the men’s discus with his NCAA provisional mark of 49.83m/163’06. Anderson also finished sixth in the shot put (14.76m/48’05.25”).
- SCSU will compete next Saturday, April 16, at the Holst Invite on the campus of Concordia-St. Paul

Wayne State
- Wayne State competed at the NSIC/MIAA Challenge at Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville, Missouri
Men’s Track
- Nick Fly paced the Wildcats with a third place finish in the 1500 meter run with a time of 4:04.56, which is a new personal best for him
Men’s Field
- Brady Metz placed second in the long jump and third in the triple jump to lead Wayne State in the NSIC/MIAA Challenge at Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville, Missouri
- Metz was second in the long jump at 22-1 and third in the triple jump 46-6.25
- The Wildcat men’s team had 48 points and finished seventh out of nine teams
