MSU Continues to lead after Round 3 of NSIC Men's Golf Championships

Smithville, Mo. - (Paradise Pointe – Par 72 – 6710 yards) - Minnesota State extended its lead to ten strokes following the third round of the NSIC Men's Golf Championship, played at Paradise Pointe Golf Complex in Smithville, Missouri.  The Mavericks shot a third round 295 to sit at 878 (+22) for the championship, ten strokes ahead of second place Winona State (295-294-299=888 +32).  St. Cloud State (294-302-294=890 +34) shot a third round team low score to remain in third place, two strokes behind WSU and 12 behind MSU. 

Bemidji State’s Will Czeh (72-76-70=218 +4) rocketed up the leaderboard as he birdied four of the last five holes to shoot a 2-under-par round of 70. Czeh started the round tied for 11th after shooting rounds of 72 and 76 last fall.  Minnesota State's Kelton Schmitz (69-75-75=219 +5) and Winona State's Jon Lindquist (72-72-75=219 +5), who were part of a four-way tie for first place entering the third round, both shot 3-over-par rounds of 75 to sit in second, one stroke off the lead.   
 
The NSIC Men’s Golf Championship’s final round will be a shotgun start on Sunday morning starting at 9 a.m. The winner of the NSIC Men's Golf Championship will earn an automatic bid to the NCAA Central/Midwest Regional, which will be played at The Meadows in Allendale, Michigan (hosted by Grand Valley State) on May 2-4.
