NSIC Offensive Player of the Week
#8 Josh Angulo (WR, 6-0, 209, Sr., Sioux Falls, S.D. / Roosevelt HS) - Sioux Falls

- Tied a USF game record with a career-best 15 catches for a career-best 164 yards and tied a career high with three touchdowns
- Helped lead a second half rally as USF defeated Bemidji State 37-36 at Bob Young Field to improve to 4-0
- Caught touchdown passes of 1, 4 and 43 yards
- Has 22 receptions for 263 yards and six TDs in 2016
- The reception number tied that of Kalen DeBoer, who had 15 catches vs. Nebraska-Wesleyan on Nov. 2, 1996
- Recorded his sixth career 100-yard receiving game and now ranks fifth all-time in career catches (172), yards (2,371 yards) and TD receptions (27)

NSIC Defensive Player of the Week
#20 Jeffrey Harman (SS, 5-11, 203, Jr., Redlands, Calif. / East Valley HS) - Sioux Falls

- Recorded his first two interceptions of his career as No. 14 USF defeated No. 22 Bemidji State 37-36 at Bob Young Field
- Added had four tackles in the victory as he stepped in off the bench to play a key role as USF turned around a 20-3 halftime deficit
- One of his interceptions came deep in USF territory stopping a BSU drive early in the second half
- On the season, has 10 tackles, two interceptions and two passes defended

NSIC Special Teams Player of the Week
#5 Avram Tynes (DB, 5-11, 166, So., Omaha, Neb. / Millard North HS) - Augustana

- Returned seven kickoffs for a career-high 208 yards in a 41-38 loss at Minnesota Duluth
- Returned three kickoffs over 25 yards, including a 43-yard kick return and a career-long 81-yard kick return
- The 208 yards is an NSIC high for kick return yards this season
- Augie and UMD racked up over 1,000 yards in total offense, with Augie finishing with 595

 
Augustana University Vikings

Team Notes
- Fell short in a 41-38 shootout loss at Minnesota Duluth
- Finished with over 400 yards of total offense for the fourth straight game
- Rushed for over 100 yards as a team for the fourth straight game
- Augustana held a 19-10 lead at halftime and got the ball back with a chance to win or tie the game with 2:19 remaining
- The Vikings drove the ball to the UMD 35-yard line before penalties backed the Vikings up
Top Performer(s)
- Trey Heid led the team in rushing carrying the ball 12 times for 87 yards and two touchdowns
- Heid also completed 23 passes for a season-high 388 yards and four touchdowns
- Heid completed a career-long 85-yard pass in the second half
- Matt Heller had a career game for the Vikings as well hauling in nine passes for a career-high 244 yards and three touchdowns
- Heller is the first Viking with over 200 receiving yards in a game since Charlie Hayes nearly broke the school record with 266 receiving yards against St. Cloud State on Sept. 12, 2015
- Heller has caught three touchdown passes in a game twice this season and currently leads the country with eight receiving touchdowns in 2016
- Avram Tynes returned seven kickoffs for a career-high 208 yards, including a career-long 81-yard return
- Kirby Hora and Matt Wagner led Augustana with 13 tackles each
- The 13 tackles is a new career-high for Wagner

- BSU threw for 259 yards and rushed for 227 with 32 first downs

- Defensive backs Damon Benham and Gunner Olszewski recorded one interception, each totaling three on the season
- Quarterback Jordan Hein threw for 259 yards, three touchdowns and rushed for one touchdown

- For the third time in as many weeks, UMD rallied for a victory by scoring the go-ahead touchdown with less than five minutes to go in regulation
- The Bulldogs trailed Augustana 31-17 midway throught the third quarter before outscoring the Vikings 24-7 the rest of the way
- The Bulldogs will put their 18-game home winning streak on the line this Saturday when they face MSU-Moorhead in their 2016 NSIC North Division debut
- UMD is the eight-time defending NSIC North Division champions and is 27-0 all-time at home against North Division foes
- All three of UMD wins this season have been by three points

- Nate Ricci established a career-high with 153 receiving yards and matched another with six catches
- UMD only had one sack Saturday, but registered eight quarterback hurries, including four by junior linebacker Nate Bassuener.
- Sophomore defensive back Sam Lynch registered his team-leading second interception of the season and third career pick (no current Bulldog has more than one)

Team Notes
- With its 28-14 win over MSU Moorhead, Minnesota State has now won its last five meetings against the Dragons
- Senior quarterback Nick Pieruccini threw for 180 yards and two touchdowns. He also led the Maverick rushing attack with 118 yards and a touchdown carry. This is the fourth time in his career, and second straight game, Pieruccini has rushed for more than 100 yards in a game
- For the second straight week the Maverick defense has recorded three interceptions
- Junior Ty Dennis and freshman Shane Zylstra each caught a touchdown pass
- Senior Ruben Ibarra led the Maverick defense with 11 tackles
- As a team, the Mavericks recorded three sacks against the Dragons

- Nick Pieruccini led the Mavericks in passing yards (180) and rushing yards (118) against MSUM
- Senior Ruben Ibarra led the Maverick defense with 11 tackles
- Seniors Marcus Gooden and Mat Andriano, along with junior Corey Brent, each recorded an interception for the Mavericks

Team Notes
- MSUM fell to 2-2 with a 28-14 loss at No. 21 Minnesota State on Saturday
- The Dragons were down 14-7 going into the fourth quarter before Mavericks pulled away
- The Dragons forced three turnovers, and now lead the NSIC with 12 turnovers forced this season
- Sophomore running back Austin Stone rushed for career-high 102 yards and a touchdown in game
- MSUM has faced two nationally-ranked opponents through its first four games

- RB Austin Stone rushed for a career-high 102 yards and a touchdown against Minnesota State; it was his first 100-yard game of his collegiate career.
- WR Damon Gibson caught seven passes for 67 yards
- LB Aaron Bohl led the defensive effort with 13 tackles, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery
- WR Cory Ambrose caught four passes for 40 yards and a score
- DB Abe Roehrich had seven tackles, including two for loss, to go with a fumble recovery and a sack

Team Notes
-Went out to a 7-0 lead early in the first quarter on a Jarvis Mustipher TD run, but was shutout the rest of the way
-Finished with more passing yards than its opponent for the third straight game, with a 271-106 passing edge
Top Performer(s)
- Isaiah Weed passed for 226 yards and rushed for 50 more to lead the Beavers offense
- Jarvis Mustipher finished with 42 yards rushing to move into fifth all-time at Minot State in rushing yards, needing just 16 yards for 2,000 in his career
- Michael Jenkins paced the defense with nine tackles, two pass breakups and two tackles for a loss

Team Notes
- Northern State blew past Concordia-St. Paul on Saturday in the final cross divisional game of the season
- NSU recorded 25 first downs to the Golden Bears 11, and notched 439 yards of total offense; including 319 yards rushing
- The Wolves punted just twice in the win as the held possession for 39 of the 60 minutes of play
- Northern led Concordia-St. Paul in nearly every statistical category including a 9-of-16 conversion mark on third down plays
- The Wolves are now 7-7 all-time versus CSP and on a three game win streak

- Christian McAlvain led the Wolves offense both on the ground and in the air. The senior rushed for an NSU career high of 157 yards and passed for 128 yards without an interception
- McAlvain also added two passing touchdowns and one rushing touchdown
- Taylor Houchin nabbed his first touchdown of the 2016 season with a total of 27 yards receiving
- Chad Stoterau led the NSU defense with eight total tackles including a sack for a total loss of five yards
- Tanner Lopez recorded his first interception of the season, with a leaping grab of CSP starter Johnson

University of Sioux Falls Cougars
Last Week Season Record Streak Preseason Poll
W 37-36 vs #22 BSU 4-0, 0-0 South W4 3rd Overall, 2nd South
Team Notes
- No.14 USF rolled up 636 yards in total offense, including 406 rushing, as the Cougars rallied from 18 points down at half to defeat #22 Bemidji State and take over the lead in the NSIC
- USF leads the NSIC and ranks second in NCAA DII with 569.5 yards per game and rank second nationally in rushing offense with 380.3 yards per game
- Junior Max Mickey ranks first nationally in rushing yards per carry at 12.67 and after going for 207 yards on 14 carries and a TD, ranks third in both rushing yards (646) and rush yards per game (161.5) in NCAA DII
- USF hits the road this week and will face #16 Augustana (3-1) in a Key to the City matchup. This game will be 100 years since the first matchup in 1916, won by USF, 46-0. USF has a 3-1 edge in the series at the DII level

- Josh Angulo tied a school record (Kalen DeBoer, Nov. 2, 1996) with 15 catches for a career-best 164 yards and tied a career high with 3 TDs receptions against BSU
- Junior Max Mickey, who ranks first nationally in rushing yards per carry at 12.67, recorded his seventh career 100 yard rushing game  1st over 200 yards – as he had 14 carries for 207 yards and a career best 75-yard scoring jaunt vs. BSU
- Luke Papilion had his third straight 100 yard rushing game (163 yards) and a 46-yard TD gallop to go with 229 passing yards and two TDs in the win over #22 BSU. Papilion had 392 yards in total offense as he moved pass 10K in his career, 10,341 just 72 yards from the school record

Last Week Season Record Streak Preseason Poll
W 47-13 vs. UMC 3-1, 0-0 South W2  7th Overall, 4th South
Team Notes
- SMSU finished with a season-high 594 yards of offense and recorded a season-high 31 first downs
- It was SMSU’s second straight week recording more than 500 yards of offense
- SMSU had three interceptions in the game, including one returned for a touchdown
- SMSU quarterback Blake Gimbel is 11-4 since taking over as a starter to begin the 2015 season
- SMSU has scored 30 or more points in 30 of its last 50 games dating back to the final game of the 2011 season
- The SMSU defense recorded interceptions on three straight UMC possessions in the second and third quarters
- SMSU limited UMC to just 307 yards of offense, the lowest by an SMSU opponent this season

- True freshman running back Max Simmons tied a school record with four rushing touchdowns and finished with 112 yards on just 18 carries. It was just the fourth time in school history an SMSU player has scored four rushing touchdowns in a game and the first since 2004
- Simmons also caught one pass for nine yards
- It was Simmons’ second straight 100-yard rushing game
- Simmons has scored six touchdowns in the last two games, following injuries to a pair of SMSU senior running backs the last three weeks

Team Notes
- SCSU lost for the second straight game
- The loss was the first to Wayne State in 13 career games
- SCSU is 1-3 on the season for only the third time in the last 16 years
- Jameson Parsons had eight catches for 123 yards and a touchdown
- SCSU has had a 100-yard receiver in all four games this season
- Nate Meyer threw for 308 yards
- It was Meyer’s seventh 300 yard game of his career and the 35th in school history
- The Huskies next travel to Minnesota Crookston on Oct. 1
- The program is 12-0 all-time against the Golden Eagles since the series start in 2003

Team Notes
- The Peacock football team scored on both sides of the ball and used a 21-point third quarter to run away with their first win of the season on Saturday
- UIU owned the ground game at Harms-Eischeid Stadium racking up a 338-110 advantage in rushing yards thanks to three 100-yard rushers
- Despite a slow start to the third quarter, Upper Iowa ran away in the final 5 minutes of the frame thanks to 21 points in a 4-minute span

- Just 22 seconds after a UIU touchdown, Tanner Thompson intercepted a Beaver pass at the 30-yard line and returned it to the house pushing the home team's lead to 28-7
- Zach Gardner was all over the field registering 12 tackles from his middle linebacker spot added a pair of tackles for loss and 1.5 sacks
- Tristan Beyer, Darius Cohen and Jordan Rommes all added 6 stops apiece
- The Peacocks had three individuals over 100 yards rushing on the afternoon; Dimitri Morales accounted for 133 yards and a score on 8 carries, while Derrick Portis ran for 114 yards and two touchdowns on 15 attempts and Ryan Parmely notched 100 yards and a score on 12 runs
- Morales threw for just 90 yards on 9 completions and Brent Lammers played in the fourth quarter completing both of his attempts for 16 yards
- David Esswein led the receiving corps with 4 grabs for 49 yards and Jalen Amis added 3 catches for 47 yards

Team Notes
- WSC records just the third victory over St. Cloud State in 14 career meetings
- Wildcats held Huskies to just 23 yards rushing
Top Performer(s)
- Junior quarterback Zach Osborn scored game-clinching TD on 45-yard bootleg run with 42 seconds left to play in game
- Osborn moved into second place on all-time passing yards list at WSC and threw multiple TD passes in fourth consecutive game
- Junior running back Rashad Trimble had second 100 yard rushing game of the season with 105 yards on 33 carries

Team Notes
- The Warriors outgained the Marauders 652-145 including 321 rushing yards and 331 yards passing.
- The Warriors defense has allowed just 41 points through the first four games this season, the fewest since the 1964 season
- The 64' team allowed just 28 points though the first four games
- Winona State had two 100 yard rushers on the day. Paul Preston finished with 146-yards and three scores while Eric Birth gained 113-yards including one score
Top Performer(s)
- Jack Nelson went over 10,000 career passing yards with 279 yards vs UMary
- Nelson now has 88 career touchdown passes, the most in NSIC history
- Cameron Johnson lead all receivers with 169-yards on eight receptions including one touchdown. The 169 yards receiving is a new career high for Johnson and his touchdown reception was his fifth consecutive game with a score
- Preston's 146-yard game got him to 2,440 career yards, placing him fifth all-time in Winona State rushing, passing Dan Thill
- Preston now has over 1,000 career kick return yards after a 43-yard kick return on Saturday
- Michael Ferrante recorded the Warriors only sack of the game, he finished with six total tackles. He led the team with three tackles-for-loss
