NSIC Players of the Week

NSIC North Division Player of the Week
#51 Miranda Ristau (C, 6-2, Jr., Warner, S.D. / Warner HS)
Northern State
- Was a team-high scorer on the weekend, averaging 17.5 points
- Went 8-17 from the floor versus Sioux Falls and 4-7 against the Southwest Minnesota State defense for a shooting percentage of 52.1 in the two contests
- Recorded 11 rebounds, four assists, and six blocks against the two opponents
- Ristau now leads the team with an average of 16.1 points and 7.7 rebounds per game
- Within the NSIC, the junior is fifth in scoring, seventh in rebounds, sixth in field goal percentage and sixth in blocked shots
- Named NSIC Player of the Week for the third time this season (12/12/16 & 1/23/17)

- Averaged 22 points, 8.5 rebounds, and 2.0 blocks in a pair of road wins
- Shot 54.8% (17-31) combined in the two games
- Recorded third double-double of the season with 21 points and 11 rebounds in 68-60 win at BSU
- The 11 rebounds against BSU tied her career-high
- Added three blocks against the Beavers
- Finished with 23 points, six rebounds, and one block in 90-84 win at UMC
- Shot 10-12 (83.3%) from the free-throw line over the weekend
- Has recorded three straight 20-plus point games

This was Selland's first career double-double - Logan O'Farrell earned a double-double with 10-points and 10 rebounds. - Bemidji State fell in a home sweep to Concordia-St. Paul, 68-60, and Minnesota State, 75-64 - BSU scored 25 fourth quarter points to climb back against CSP - The Golden Bears won the rebound battle, 43-34, leading to 43.9 percent shooting from the field on the offensive end - The Beavers brought the game to a two-possession score twice during the fourth quarter before the Mavericks went on a 7-3 run to end the game - BSU recorded 20 assists on 23 field goals during the game, and shot 81.8 percent from the free throw line

- Senior guard Aimee Pelzer averaged 20.0 points per game over the weekend while recording her 1,000th career point on a free throw in the second quarter against Minnesota State - Pelzer recorded 25 points against Concordia-St. Paul before putting up 23 against Minnesota State on 41.7 percent shooting from the field and 47.6 percent from beyond the arc - Junior center Sierra Senske scored 18 points over the weekend to place herself 39 points away from 1,000 for her career

- Golden Bears finished the game shooting 43.9% (25-57) from the floor and also held a 43-34 rebounding advantage against BSU - CSP used a 16-2 run to close out the first half against the Beavers to build a comfortable lead heading into the locker room. Concordia never trailed against BSU - Concordia was able to score 90 points despite sub-50 percent shooting (34-72, 47.2%) as the team took care of the ball with just eight turnovers while forcing 16 against UMC - The winning streak is CSP's longest since the nine game winning streak that brought the 2013-14 Golden Bears to the NCAA Division II national quarterfinals

- Caitlyn Russell averaged 22 points, 8.5 rebounds, and 2.0 blocks per game over the weekend - Recorded third double-double of the season against Bemidji State - Mishayla Jones averaged 22.5 points, 4.0 rebounds and 6.0 assists per game in the two wins. F Gabbie Bohl 16th in scoring in the NSIC (13.2 PPG), tops among freshmen. She is also 11th in field goal percentage (.483)

C Gabbie Bohl averaged 16 points, 9.5 rebounds and 2.5 blocks last weekend - She had 22 points, 11 rebounds and four blocks in a win at Upper Iowa - Against #22 Winona State Bohl had 10 points and eight rebounds

- The Golden Eagles lost a pair of games over the weekend to Minnesota State and Concordia-St. Paul - UMC still remains in the hunt for the top four of the NSIC. They are currently tied for fifth in the NSIC North standings with St. Cloud State. They are just one game back of U-Mary in fourth place - UMC shot 19-of-58 for 32.8 percent from the field against Minnesota State Friday - The Golden Eagles were 10-of-13 for 76.9 percent from the charity stripe against the Mavericks - UMC won the third quarter, 27-21, on Saturday against Concordia-St. Paul - Minnesota Crookston was 29-of-57 for 50.9 percent from the field against the Golden Bears - They were 10-of-22 for 45.5 percent from beyond the arc and 16-of-19 for 84.2 percent from the charity stripe Top Performers - Alison Hughes had a career-high 30 points on Saturday against Concordia-St. Paul on 7-of-12 from the field, 6-of-7 from beyond the arc and 10-of-10 from the charity stripe. She came four points short of tying the school record - Isieoma Odor had 18 points and seven boards against the Golden Bears - Emily Gruber tallied 14 points and six rebounds versus Concordia-St. Paul - Alison Hughes had 14 points, seven boards and five assists against Minnesota State - Paige Weakley notched 11 points and four boards against the Mavericks
