- Went 2-0 last week in duals versus SMSU and Augie
- Opened with a 12-4 major decision over SMSU’s Brock Buysse
- Defeated Augie’s Brandon Charbonneau 3-1, who was ranked 11th nationally and third in the region
- Improves to 21-6 overall and 12-0 in duals, including 11 straight wins

- Defeated U-Mary on Saturday 24-13 in Bismarck and beat Minot State on Sunday 50-0 in Minot
- Shutout Minot State for the second consecutive season and tallied eight bonus point victories
- Won the final four matches against U-Mary to secure the dual win

- Austin Jordan (141), Tyler Nation (157), Lukas Poloncic (174), Aero Amo (184), Ben Goodwin (197) and Michael Lowman (285) each went 2-0 over the weekend

- Josh Jensen and Tate Barnhardt opened both matches with wins over the weekend at 125 and 133
- The duo have combined for back-to-back-wins in the Marauders last four duals and six of the last seven
- Mary won the first three matches against SMSU and led 13-11 and held a 13-7 lead against Augie before dropping both conference duals

- Soph. Tate Barnhardt won twice over the weekend to extend his win streak to 11
- He is 21-6 overall and 12-0 this season in duals
- The sophomore had a 12-4 major decision over Jordan Biehm of SMSU and a 3-1 win over Augie’s Brandon Charbonneau, ranked 11th nationally and 3rd in the region
- Soph. Josh Jensen posted two wins over the weekend, defeating SMSU’s Brock Buysse 5-2 and Augie’s Brandon Carroll, ranked 3rd in the region, 16-4 for a major decision
- He had five takedowns against Carroll. Jensen is now 11-6 this season

- Dylan Herman and Matt Blome secured pins for the Mavericks against Upper Iowa at the 157 and 197 pound weight classes
- Paul Selman scored a 16-4 major decision to round out Minnesota State’s three bonus-point victories during the dual
- Andrew McFall, Adam Cooling, and Corey Abernathy all had decisions in the match

- MSUM picked up its first NSIC win of the season on Friday with 23-15 home dual victory over Northern State
- Northern dual was final home dual of regular-season for Dragons, who honored seniors Nader Abdullatif, Blake Bosch, Isaac Novacek and Dan Murakami prior to the atch
- The Dragons ranked tied for 24th in the D2 tournament rankings
- MSUM’s Blake Bosch is ranked second in the nation at 122 pounds

- Senior Isaac Novacek won by technical fall at 157 to lead Dragons against Northern State
- Sophomore Jared Goldsmith (125), sophomore Kristian Vazquez (141), sophomore Adam Blees (174) and senior Nader Abdullatif (285) also won by decision for the Dragons

- Carlos Toledano, 174, returned from injury to go 1-0 on the week, winning by major decision
- Jake Belland, HWT, pinned his SMSU opponents in just 47 seconds

- The Northern State University wrestling team fell to MSU Moorhead on Friday with a score of 23-15
- The Wolves were open at 133-pounds in the match, however were unable to come away with the win
- Four student-athletes tallied match wins, with two extra point victories

- Tyler Stenberg defeated Dylan Connell in an 8-1 decision
- Ben Fichter downed Brayden Kuntz in a 15-3 major decision
- David Murphy notched a 5-3 decision win over Logan Rhode
- Joe Gomez tallied a 20-4 technical fall win over Cody Anderson at the 7-minute mark in the match
- The win gives the senior his 95th of his career

- The Huskies now own a four-match dual match win streak thanks to their 51-0 win over St. John’s on Jan. 26
- SCSU was ranked #1 in the latest DII national poll as a team and nine Huskies were ranked individually in the poll led by #1 Austin Goergen at 285 and #3 Vince Dietz at 197
- Also ranked were Matt Nelson (#5 at 141), Mike Rhone (#12 at 133), Clayton Jennissen (#4 at 174), Uthman Rabiu (#5 at 184), Larry Bomstad (#8 at 157), Brett Velasquez (#6 at 125) and Gabe Fogarty (#9 at 165)
- SCSU also competed at the North Country Open on Jan. 29 at St. John’s.  Jordan Aquino (125), Jarred Oftedahl (133) and Josh Berg (165) all won weight class titles at the North Country Open for the Huskies
- SCSU returns to action in the always rugged NSIC with a pair of home dates this week
- Austin Goergen owns an 18-0 record this season at 285 and Vince Dietz is 20-1 at 197 for the Huskies
- SCSU’s Clayton Jennissen is 19-5 at 174-pounds in 2016-17

- At 133-pounds, Jarred Oftedahl won top honors at the North Country Open with a 3-0 record that included two falls
- In the title bout, Oftedahl won with a fall at 4:30 against Sam Bennyhoff of Augsburg
- In action at 125-pounds at the North Country, SCSU's Jordan Aquino won the top honors with a 3-0 record
- In the title bout, Aquino won by a medical forfeit over Victor Gliva of Augsburg 
- In action at 165-pounds at the North Country, Josh Berg won the top spot with a 3-0 record for the Huskies
- In the title match, Berg won with an 8-2 win over teammate Devin Fitzpatrick

Team Notes
- MSU defeated the #24 Peacock 25-13 on Thursday night at the Taylor Center in Mankato, Minnesota
- The home team claimed six of the ten bouts including a pair of wins by fall
- Upper Iowa's four victories included three decisions and a major decision by Colbey Vance at 165 pounds
- The loss snapped UIU’s four-dual win streak
Top Performer(s)
- Jordan Roths got Upper Iowa in the win column in the 141-pound match. Roths trailed 4-0 early, but fought back with a reversal, two more takedowns and a ride time point to secure an 8-7 win over Louie Sanders
- Damian Penichet (#11), the reigning NSIC Wrestler of the Week, kept momentum on UIU’s side with a 5-1 decision over Daniel Close. Penichet used a takedown, reversal and a ride time point to pull UIU within one, 7-6, on the scoreboard
- Colbey Vance (#10) pulled UIU back within three points, 13-10, with a major decision in the 165-pound match. Vance’s 14-1 major was fueled by a takedown, two reversals, a four-point nearfall and a two-point nearfall over Max Bullock
- Logan Hopp (#5) was impressive again in the heavyweight match for Upper Iowa. Hopp scored 5 takedowns and an escape point to win 11-6. For the third time in the last eight days, Hopp did not surrender a point except when his opponent got an escape. He has now outscored his opponents 51-16 in the last three UIU duals
