- Minnesota Crookston had five drives deep into U-Mary territory but were only able to convert on one of those drives. The Marauders controlled the game clock with their run-game as they had the ball for over 40 minutes compared to just under 20 minutes for the Golden Eagles
- Adam Connette is just three touchdowns shy of Carl Aho’s mark for receiving touchdowns in a career. Connette already has the school records for receptions and receiving yards with 222 receptions for 2,587 yards. Connette is also second in the league for receptions per game with 6.4. He is fifth for receiving yards per game with 75.4
- Rod Stewart continues to move up the charts for Minnesota Crookston. Stewart is fourth all-time for receptions with 97. He needs 38 to surpass Carl Aho for third. He is also fourth for receiving yards with 1,237 yards. Stewart needs 392 yards to tie Mark Olsonawski for third for receiving yards
- The Golden Eagles will play Minnesota State University Moorhead in the Red River Valley Showdown Oct. 21 at 1 p.m. Minnesota Crookston and the Dragons play for the State Farm Traveling Trophy. The trophy last resided in Crookston after a 20-14 win during the 2013 season |

- UMD remained unbeaten in NISC North Division play by overwhelming Northern State 41-0 Saturday in Aberdeen, S.D.
- The Bulldogs gave up just 83 yards of total offense on 58 plays and seven first downs on their way to posting their first shutout in two years (45-0 at the University of Mary on Oct. 17, 2015)
- That was the lowest offensive output by a UMD opponent since the University of Minnesota Crookston mustered just 78 total yards on Oct. 31, 2009
- Bulldogs also rolled up a 2017 season-high 300 yards on the ground en route to improving to a pefect 4-0 in the road
- UMD has racked up 19 quarterback sacks this season with 17 of those coming in the last four games
- The Bulldogs will host Minot State this Saturday in their annual Homecoming game (and their first appearance at home in 23 days
- UMD is 5-0 all-time against the Beavers and has outscored them 226-23 in those five victories
- Since the NSIC went to a divisional format in 2008, UMD is 59-3 all-time in NSIC North Division outings, including a perfect 32-0 mark at home |

- In Saturday’s 41-0 takedown of Northern State, some 10 different Bulldogs got a piece of the rushing action, including redshirt freshman Austin Sylvester who ran 16 times for a personal-best 104 yards
- Redshirt freshman quarterback John Larson, making his first collegiate start, completed 11 of 19 passes for 145 yards and two touchdowns. The first of those was a seven-yard strike 9:07 into the opening quarter to senior wide out Dominic Bonner that gave the Bulldogs all the scoring they would need
- The Bulldog defense, which limited the Wolves to only 26 yards via the pass, got six stops each from junior inside linebacker A.J. Naatz and Gus Wedig and senior defensive end Nick Thorpe
- Junior free safety Sam Lynch had the game's only interception, the fifth of his career

- Upper Iowa dropped a home game at Harms-Eischeid Stadium on Saturday night in Fayette after a 45-minute delay due to lightning in the area
- The #4 Mavericks of Minnesota State University, Mankato dominated the match up with the Peacocks claiming a 52-7 victory
- Minnesota State scored the first 36 points of the game by the midway point of the second quarter on five touchdowns and a safety
- Upper Iowa scored the final points of the first half when Brent Lammers found Skyler Lehman over the middle on back-to-back plays that covered 23 yards on 4th and 8 and 10 yards on 1st and goal to give the home team their only score in the game
- MSU added two touchdowns and a field goal in the second half to set the final score at 52-7
- For the game, the Mavericks average starting field position was their own 39-yard line and the visitors didn't waste their opportunities. Minnesota State scored eight times on their sixteen possessions including seven touchdowns and a 25-yard field goal
- Upper Iowa started their possessions on their 21-yard line and just couldn't get much traction against the Maverick defense
- Minnesota State earned huge advantages in first downs (24-6), rushing yards (359-14) and passing yards (229-136) |
