NSIC Volleyball Players of the Week 

NSIC Offensive Player of the Week
#4 Shelby Seurer (MB, 6-0, Sr., Delano, Minn. / Delano HS)
Concordia-St. Paul

- Led CSP with an impressive .639 hitting percentage as she picked up 24 kills with just one error on 36 attempts
- Ranked third on the team with 3.43 kills per set while also adding seven digs, three blocks and an ace
- Was especially solid in the win over No. 16 Augie as she picked up 18 kills, one shy of her season high, with a .680 hitting percentage

NSIC Defensive Player of the Week
#12 Abby Thor (MB, 6-2, So., Woodbury, Minn. / New Life Academy)
Minnesota Duluth

- Disrupted the Minot State and U-Mary offenses to a pair of sweeps for the Bulldogs as no team hit over .194 for a set
- Part of a defensive unit that strangled the opposing attack to a combined .011 attack percentage
- Compiled 12 blocks and a conference-high 2.0 blocks/set over the weekend
- Notched a single-game high eight blocks vs. Minot State
- Also chipped in offensively with an efficient .474 hitting clip with nine kills and zero errors in two games
- Has recorded at least one block in 20 of the 21 games this year

NSIC Setter of the Week
#13 Elizabeth Mohr (S, 5-7, Jr., Eden Prairie, Minn. / Eden Prairie HS)
Concordia-St. Paul

- Guided the CSP offense to a staggering 16.57 kills per set with a .367 hitting percentage in a pair of wins over ranked opponents
- Put up 14.00 assists per set and 1.43 digs per set while leading the team with 1.00 aces per set on the weekend
- Moved into the national lead in assists per set as she bumped her average up to 13.40 assists per set on the season
- Named NSIC Setter of the Week for the third time this season (9/5/17 & 9/18/17)

- Senior setter Alex Banker had 43 assists and 17 digs on Friday, and 41 assists with 14 digs on Saturday
- Junior Courtney Place tallied a total of 42 kills  and 23 digs in eight sets of volleyball over the weekend, including a career-high 24 kills on Saturday

- CSP grabbed a pair of wins over ranked opponents over the weekend, giving them six on the year, while hitting an impressive .367 on the weekend while holding their opponents to .176
- The Golden Bears served tough in the two wins as they tallied 13 aces in Friday’s win over WSC before adding eight more against Augie to bring the total to 3.00 per set on the weekend
- Four different hitters registered in with at least 3.29 kills per set as Concordia finished the two matches with 116 kills (16.57 per set)
Top Performer(s)
- Elizabeth Mohr orchestrated a big weekend for the CSP offense as the team picked up 16.57 kills per set on a .367 hitting percentage while she finished with 14.00 assists per set and seven aces (1.00 per set)
- Shelby Seurer was extremely efficient in the two matches as she registered 24 kills (3.43 per set) while committing just one error on 36 swings for a .639 hitting percentage

- The Marauders begin a three-game home stand this weekend with visits from Bemidji State and Minnesota Crookston
- Fresh off a 4-game road trip, UMary has finished a gauntlet of six games against nationally-ranked teams. A seventh game was against a team receiving votes in the poll
- The Marauders match against Minot State on Oct. 31 will be televised by BEK Broadcasting throughout the region

- For the sixth time this season, senior outside hitter Lauren Randall cracked the 20-kill barrier with 21 terminations at St. Cloud State She also had a season-high 18 digs for her 12th double double this season. She is second in the NSIC in kills/set (4.41)
- Geovana Almeida posted 19 digs against SCSU and is 20th in the NSIC with 3.18 dogs/set
- Amanda Lopes is 10th in the NSIC in assists/game at 9.1. She had 40 assists, three kills and 13 digs against the Huskies
- Natalia Cruz had 12 kills and 16 digs against SCSU, her second-best career totals in both categories

- Minnesota Crookston picked up their second conference win of the season in a 3-1 victory over MSU Moorhead Friday
- The Golden Eagles looked to double-doubles from Kaycie Hagen and Kassi Green on the day. Green notched 25 kills and 20 digs, while Hagen had 52 assists and 24 digs
- Kassi Green is fourth in the league with 4.06 kills per set. She has 288 kills overall on the 2017 season. She is also fourth in the league in points per set with 4.47
-  Minnesota Crookston has been strong defensively on the season as they come into the weekend seventh in the league with 16.35 digs per set

- Kassi Green averaged 5.43 kills per set and hit .255 in two matches
- Kaycie Hagen averaged 11.1 assists and 4.9 digs per set over two matches
- Kaitlin Sikkink had 12 kills and hit .310 in win over MSU Moorhead

- UMD posted 13 total blocks vs U-Mary, a single-game high this season and conference best for a three-set match
- The Bulldogs held the opposition to a combined 0.011 attack percentage. They forced almost as many errors as kills given up (43 errors, 45 kills). Minot State hit .046 and U-Mary hit -.022 in UMD’s two matches
- Hit a staggering .458 vs Minot State, the second best mark for a game in NSIC play

- Abby Thor played a vital role in the blocking game. Thor had 12 blocks and had a conference high 2.0 blocks/set. Thor also had six kills (.429 clip) vs. U-Mary
- Sarah Kelly hit .727 vs. U-Mary on eight kills on 11 swings and Allison Olley hit .750 vs. Minot State on nine kills on 12 swings
- Kate Berg and Makenzie Morgen each posted 10 kills and nine digs vs. Minot State. Morgen compiled a team-high 3.00 kills/set and four aces
- Kenna Seiffert racked up 3.00 digs/set
- Lexy Langenfeld recorded her first college kill in the 3-set win over Minot State

-Freshman Mara Quam led the Mavericks with a team-best 49 digs last weekend including a career-high 32 digs vs. Augustana
- She also contributed a match-best 17 digs against Wayne State
- Freshman Micayla Porter passed out a team-leading 52 assists
- On the offensive side, Porter tallied a team-best six service aces
- Sophomore Morgan Olson posted a team-high 26 kills to go along with a .274 hitting percentage
- Her weekend was highlighted by a 15 kill performance vs. Augustana. Olson has now reached double-digits in kills in her last five matches

- Split weekend has USF tied for fifth at 8-5 in the NSIC this season with seven matches to play

- Janelle Lam paced the back row defense with 30 digs in two matches, 4.29 per set
- Lexi Scott finished with 17 kills at a team-best .238 attack percentage for the weekend, including  11-kill, one-error night at Winona State
- Makenna Rockeman had a team-high 21 kills for the weekend, including eight in the final set against Winona State to finish with 15 on the night
- Middle blockers Scott and Abby Feyereisen each had seven total blocks with Scott posting three solo stuffs on the weekend

- The Mustangs outscored opponents 100-66 in the second and third sets combined
- Southwest Minnesota State’s victory over No. 15 Winona State improved its record to 9-1 over ranked opponents this season
- SMSU improved its road record to 8-1 on the season with its two wins last weekend
- SMSU averaged 18.44 digs per set over the weekend
- The Mustangs had 17 service aces in their two matches last weekend

- Taylor Reiss had 43 kills (4.78 k/set) and 40 digs (4.44 d/set) in the Mustangs’ two wins
- Megan Larson became the first SMSU player ever to pass 5,000 career assists with her 10.67 assists per set over the weekend
- Dani Potter averaged 4.22 digs per set with 38 total digs on the weekend as the Mustangs’ libero

- Micah Nier recorded 19 kills (2.38 per set)
- Maddy Torve and Kayla Crane both had 44 assists (5.50 per set)

- The Peacocks swept the Cougars of Sioux Falls on Friday night; both teams are receiving votes in the latest AVCA Top 25 Poll
- Upper Iowa won the first set 25-19 over #2 SMSU, but the Mustangs outlasted the Peacocks in sets two, three and four to claim the 3-1 win and escape Fayette with the victory
- UIU hit .144 for the weekend with 70 kills, while holding their opponents to a .091 percentage on 82 kills
- The team also registered a 22-14 advantage in team blocks including a 12-4 advantage against the Cougars
- Upper Iowa is 2-5 this season against NCAA Top 25 teams or those receiving votes and 15-0 against the rest of their schedule
Top Performer(s)
- Ashley Larson recorded her 1,000th dig in an Upper Iowa uniform; the senior libero has been with the Peacocks for three years and currently has 1,005 digs at UIU?
- Larson got her hands on 34 digs to lead the back line defense (4.86/set)
- Haley Weepie led the offense with 17 kills, while fellow sophomores Anna Winter and Haley Poula each knocked down 14
- Malissa LeClaire handed out 52 assists and added 14 digs and 7 kills
- Bethany Lovhaug led the squad in blocks with 13 (1.86/set), while Lauren Wombles got 9, Poula got 8 and Winter denied 7
