NSIC Volleyball Players of the Week 

NSIC Offensive Player of the Week
#13 Allison Olley (MB, 6-2, Sr., Racine, Wis. / St. Catherine’s HS)
Minnesota Duluth

- Paced the club with 3.29 kills per set and 1.43 blocks per set in wins over MSU and No. 2 CSP
- Her 10 blocks led all NSIC players last week
- Recorded only four errors on 41 swings, hitting a robust .463
- Posted double-digit kill efforts in both games
- Had a team-high 13 kills and seven blocks vs Minnesota State
- Turned the tide in the fourth set vs. CSP giving UMD the lead for good on a run that headlined four kills and a block from her and finished with 10 kills
- Currently sits as the nation’s most effective hitter at .479 and her .458 attack clip in league games ranks second

NSIC Defensive Player of the Week
#18 Karli Koza (L, 5-4, Fr., Winchester, Calif. / Chaparral HS)
Minot State

- Led the NSIC with 8.00 digs per set last week
- Had 20 of the 50 digs in match versus No. 17 Augustana
- Recorded the most digs in an NSIC match this season with 36 in a four set loss to No. 21 Wayne State

NSIC Setter of the Week
#4 Emily Torve (S, 5-8, So., Loretto, Minn. / Heritage Christian Academy)
Minnesota Duluth

- Averaged an NSIC best 13.28 assists per set helping UMD capture wins over Minnesota State and No. 2 Concordia-St. Paul
- Led UMD to an NSIC best .330 team hitting percentage over the weekend and saw four players average over 3.14 kills/set
- Had 35 assists and three aces against MSU
- Registered a season-high 58 assists in a four-set upset victory of CSP. Her 58 assists ties a career best
- Sits fourth in the nation with 12.69 assists per set
 
Augustana University Vikings

- Each of the Vikings five straight wins have come in straight sets
- Augustana has nine sweeps on the season
- Three of the Vikings five losses came in a row – from Sept. 14 to Sept. 19 – each of which went five sets
- Three players had double-digit digs in the win over Minot State on Friday
- On Friday, Augustana held Minot State to just a .086 hitting percentage. The defense continued on Saturday when the Vikings allowed UMary to hit just .064

- Senior Bailey Koch tallied 12 kills with a hitting percentage of .579 on Friday night. The middle blocker added eight kills while hitting .615 and added five blocks on Saturday afternoon
- Junior Courtney Place accounted for eight kills and 11 digs on Friday night. She added 13 kills on Saturday

- After picking up a sweep at SCSU on Friday, CSP saw their 18-match winning streak in NSIC play snapped by #6 UMD on Saturday
- The loss was Concordia’s first on the road in NSIC action since Oct. 16, 2015, ending a streak of 20 in a row
- The Golden Bears rode their offense to victory on Friday with a season-best hitting percentage of .451 before the Bulldogs put up the highest mark of the year against the CSP defense at .317

- Brooklyn Lewis continued to pace the offense with a team-best 15+ kills in both matches, finishing with 4.43 kills per set and a .301 hitting percentage
- Shelby Seurer was extremely efficient as she collected 20 kills with no errors on 37 swings to compile a .541 hitting percentage on the weekend

- The Marauders just wrapped up a four-game home stand – UMary’s longest of the season – and are about to embark on a four-game road trip, equaling the program’s longest of the year
- UMary just finished playing a stretch of five straight games against teams ranked nationally in the Top 25 or are getting votes
Top Performer(s)
- Second in the NSIC in both kills per set (4.41) and points per set (4.79), Lauren Randall opened the weekend with 16 kills and a .270 hitting percentage against Wayne State before Augustana held her to nine kills. It was just the third time this season the senior outside hitter was limited to single digits in kills. She now has 1,190 career kills.
- Back in the lineup after missing the previous weekend, junior setter Amanda Lopes posted 30 assists on 34 kills against Wayne State and 23 on 26 against Aigustana. She also had three aces against the Wildcats.
- Freshman Morgan Schnabel is second on the team in total kills with 110, followed by Anna Nietfeld at 83

-  The University of Minnesota Crookston volleyball team fell 3-0 (25-23, 25-9, 25-21) to No. 14 Winona State University on Parent's Night Fri., Oct. 6 at Lysaker Gymnasium
- Minnesota Crookston tested Winona State in the first two sets but struggled in the third set
- The Golden Eagles fell 3-0 (25-22, 25-21, 25-23) Sat., Oct. 7 to Upper Iowa University at Lysaker Gymnasium
- The Golden Eagles had late leads in both the first and third sets and were within one point late in the second set. However, Minnesota Crookston struggled to close out crucial points as the Peacocks held on for the victory
- Kassi Green is currently fourth in the NSIC in the NSIC with 4.09 kills per set
- Minnesota Crookston will look to stop a six-game losing streak as they take on Minnesota State Oct. 13 and No. 2 Concordia-St. Paul

- Kassi Green notched 14 kills and hit .211 on Friday against Winona State
- Kassi Green tallied 15 kills and hit .109 on Saturday versus Upper Iowa
- Callie Schapekahm notched nine kills and hit .421 against Upper Iowa
- Kelci Green tallied seven kills and hit .263 against the Peacocks
- Becca Vandenheuvel notched 17 digs versus Upper Iowa Saturday

- Allison Olley paced the club with 3.29 kills per set and 1.43 blocks per set including a team-high 13 kills and seven blocks vs Minnesota State. She also registered a squad-leading .463 hitting percentage over the weekend
- Sarah Kelly had a career high 17 digs against No. 2 Concordia- St. Paul
- Makenzie Morgen notched a game-high 19 of her 25 kills over the weekend against the Golden Bears.
- Emily Torve dished out 93 assists (13.2 assists per set)
- Keena Seiffert dug out a career high 20 balls vs CSP and led UMD with 3.71 per set

-Freshman Micayla Porter tallied a team-high 45 assists over the weekend. She posted a team-best 16 assists at Minnesota Duluth before handing out a match-best 28 at St. Cloud State. Porter has reached the 20 assist plateau six times this season
-Freshman Mara Quam led the Mavericks on the defensive end with 32 digs. She contributed a match-high 13 digs at Minnesota Duluth and added a team-best 19 at St. Cloud State. Quam has reached double-digits in digs 14 times this season
- Sophomore Morgan Olson totaled a team-best 21 kills over the weekend. She reached double-figures in both digs (17) and kills (11) at St. Cloud State

- Sophomore MB Kaylyn Jenkins had 14 kills and hit .278 while adding six block assists
- Junior L Monica Vega had 35 digs in two matches
- Freshman S Ellie Hoyt had 33 set assists

- Northern currently sits third in the NSIC with four teams holding an 8-1 conference record (SMSU, CSP, NSU, UMD)

- Hailey Busch was back on the court for NSU and led the team with 33 kills while hitting .238
- Jenna Reiff and Holly Vancura were second on the team with 18 kills
- Ashley Rozell notched 83 total assists, averaging 11.86 per set
- Jaiden Langlie led the defense with 39 total digs, averaging 5.57 per set

 - Limited MSU Moorhead to .109 attack percentage with four players picking up
 - Remain tied with Augustana for eighth in NSIC standings with 5-4 record in NSIC play

- Makenna Rockeman posted a team-high 17 kills with a season-best .349 attack percentage to lead USF over MSU Moorhead
- Rockeman posted 12 kills at Northern State to finish with 29 on the weekend
- Janelle Lam picked up 18 digs in win over MSU Moorhead and finished with 30 on the weekend, averaging 4.29 for the week
- Lexi Scott had 25 kills on the week and added four blocks

- Southwest Minnesota State extended the longest win streak in school history to start a season to 16 matches with a sweep over MSU Moorhead on Friday night before falling at No. 13 Northern State on Saturday afternoon
- SMSU’s loss to the Wolves snapped what was the second longest win streak overall in program history
- The Mustangs’ loss in set one on Saturday at NSU was the first opening set loss for SMSU all season long and the first time SMSU had trailed in sets in a match all season
- The Mustangs averaged 15.9 kills per set as a team over the weekend while holding opponents to .179 hitting
- SMSU out-blocked opponents 13-9 and out-dug opponents 145-137
Top Performer(s)
- Taylor Reiss racked up 37 total kills over the weekend (5.29 k/set) including 26 kills in the Mustangs’ loss at Northern State; Reiss has now reached 25 or more kills in three matches this season
- Kaylee Burmeister had 33 total kills (4.71 k/set) with a .307 hitting percentage for the week
- Burmeister and Reiss combined for 70 of the Mustangs’ 111 kills and 61 of their 145 digs
- Megan Larson averaged 12.71 assists per set and had 17 digs on the weekend
- Sarina Smith averaged 2.29 k/set while Brooke Borchard added 1.86 k/set

- St. Cloud State went 2-1 on the week and now sports 12 wins on the campaign
- The 12 wins for the program are the most since having 14 during the 2014 season
- The program’s only loss on the season came to No. 2 Concordia-St. Paul
- SCSU after dropping the first two sets fought all the way back to defeat Minnesota State (10/717)
Top Performer(s)
- Abby Templin tied for the team lead with her 26 kills along with Becca Gruber on the week (2.36 per set)
- Maddy Torve led the team with her 53 assists
- Nicole Miller had four service aces
- Clara Krenz picked up 52 digs (5.2 per set) and a team-leading five service aces
- Krista Kuglin hit .356 for the week with 25 kills (2.27 per set)

- The Peacocks swept both of their matches this past weekend over Bemidji State and Minnesota Crookston
- The wins pushed UIU's record to 15-3 overall and 6-3 in the NSIC and the team is now riding a four-match win streak
- UIU hit .238 over the weekend with 95 kills and a 15.8 kills/set average in their six sets
- Blocking continued to be a key to success for the Peacocks as they posted an 11-5 advantage in team blocks
Top Performer(s)
- Haley Weepie led a balanced attack with 21 kills, while four more Peacocks got into the act; Haley Poula (19), Bethany Lovhaug (18), Anna Winter (18) and Lauren Wombles (16)
- Malissa LeClaire averaged 12.5 assists/set handing out 75 over the weekend as UIU claimed 95 over their 150 points on kills
- Ashley Larson led the back line with 30 digs followed closely by LeClaire, who added 27
- Lovhaug continued her big play at the net with 8 blocks, while Poula added 5

- Freshman Kate Masberg recorded a career-best four service aces to go along with seven kills and 12 digs at Crookston
- Danielle Rampart floored 10 kills in each match; has double-digit kills in 14 of 17 matches this year
- McKenna Larsen totaled 53 assists, 17 digs and five kills over two matches
