- The Marauders opened the dual season with a 21-15 win at Minot State University. UMary won the first four matches
- While the Marauders and the Beavers both won five matches, UMary had three wins by major decision and one by pin
- At the Dakota Wesleyan Open, the Marauders claimed three titles and had nine placewinners overall (Rudy Guillen, Phillip Springsteen and Austin Eichmann won titles, Chris Leatherman placed second, Nate Humann, Tate Barnhardt and Dominic Tudor placed third, Hunter Eckert finished fourth and Jacob Green sixth) |

- Sophomore Rudy Guillen opened the week with a major decision over the Beavers Tanner Crissler to help UMary defeat Minot State University in the opening dual of the season. He then won the 149 pound title with a win over the nation’s top-ranked St. Cloud State wrestler Jake Barzowski 5-4 in the finals. Guillen finished the day 4-0 and went 5-0 on the week
- Phillip Springsteen captured the 165 pound division at the DWU Open, winning all five matches. He had one pin and defeated Northern State’s Blake Perryman 8-3 in the championship
- Austin Eichmann won his match in the Marauders win over Minot State and won the 174 pound division at the DWU Open. He picked up a win by fall and major decision at the open meet
- Tate Barnhardt had a big week for the Marauders. He pinned his opponent in the Marauders dual win over Minot State. He placed third at the DWU Open, going 5-1 with one pin and two technical falls |

- Dylan Herman (Sr., 157 lbs.) placed third at the Luther Open. Herman defeated two of his opponents by fall, including a quick 1:15 pin in the third place match. Herman’s only loss at the tournament was against a division I opponent in Keegan Shaw of Iowa
- Corey Abernathy (Sr., 184 lbs.) finished third at the Luther Open. Abernathy went 3-1 at the tournament in Decorah, Iowa. Abernathy won all three of his matches at the tournament by either technical fall or major decision
- Zach Johnston (So., 165 lbs.) and Etienne Kinney (Rf., 157 lbs.) finished in fourth place for the Mavericks |

- SCSU was ranked #2 in this year’s NCAA DII preseason poll
- SCSU was ranked #1 in this year’s NSIC preseason poll
- SCSU won the top three spots in the 141-pound weight bracket at the Dakota Wesleyan Open with Jarred Oftedahl placing first, Ryan Rodorigo placing second and Travis Swanson placing third
- The Huskies will continue their season on Nov. 18 with their annual trip to the Finn Grinaker Open at Concordia College in Moorhead, Minn. |

- The No. 8 Peacock wrestling team put together a great day at the Luther Open in Decorah, Iowa on Saturday leading the tournament with 26 wins by fall; five more than Wartburg College, the top-ranked team in NCAA Division III. The University of Iowa scored 20 falls and Minnesota State University, Mankato was fourth with 18
- The 26 falls for UIU gives the team 46 for the season in just two tournaments and a dual and were racked up by the Peacocks' 25 entrants (both attached and unattached)
- The Luther Open features two sets of brackets. The Silver Brackets are for freshmen and redshirt freshmen, while the Elite Brackets are for everyone else. UIU entered 14 wrestlers into the Elite Bracket and 11 in the Silver Bracket including 9 unattached wrestlers. The Peacocks claimed 7 places in the Elite Brackets and 8 more places in the Silver Brackets. |

- Jordan Gundrum had the best day for the Peacocks claiming the 174-pound title in the Elite Bracket thanks to a 4-0 record with all four wins coming by fall. The West Bend, Wis. product pinned Brice Duhe of Wartbrug (4:32), Bailey Chyma of Coe (2:34), Zach Johnston of Minnesota State (0:30) and Jake Voss of Coe (3:28) in the championship match. Gundrum is now 5-0 on the season with five wins by fall.
- Triston Westerlund continues to develop as a heavyweight reaching
the finals of the Elite Brackets before losing to Aaron Costello of Iowa by fall (2:42). Westerlund won his quarterfinal match by tech fall (16-1) over Nick Hogan of Wartburg to reach the semis where he beat Kaleb Staack of Wartburg (2-0).
- Aaron Baker (141) placed second in the Silver Bracket with a 2-1
record and two falls. The pins both came in the first period of his first two matches before losing in the finals.
- Brock Benitz (157), last week's NSIC Wrestler of the Week, placed
fourth in the Silver Bracket, but was 3-0 when he pulled out of the bracket due to illness. Benitz had a pair of wins by fall running his season total of pins to six. |
