NSIC North Division Player of the Week
#51 Miranda Ristau (C, 6-2, Jr., Warner, S.D. /  Warner HS)
Northern State

- Averaged 26 points per game in home wins over UMC (83-52) and BSU (76-55)
- Shot 22-of-31 from the floor for a shooting percentage of 71.0
- Picked up 12 total rebounds, six of which were offensive boards
- Collected a career-high 10 blocks against Bemidji State
- Averaging a team-high 16.7 points, 7.9 rebounds and 2.3 blocks per game
- Currently fourth in the NSIC in scoring (17.2), third in field goal percentage (56.6) and third in blocked shots (2.4)
- Named NSIC Player of the Week for the fourth time this season (12/12/16, 1/23/17, 1/30/17)

- Averaged a double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds in two road wins
- Set a career-high in rebounds with 17 in a 74-72 win at USF
- Scored 18 points in a 68-57 win at SMSU
- Shot 61.1 percent from the field and was a perfect 5-for-5 from behind the arc over the weekend
- Added three blocks and two steals on the weekend

- Mishayla Jones became the 27th player in program history to surpass 1,000 career points with her 16 point performance against the Warriors
- Scored a season low 43 points against Upper Iowa and only tallied 14 points in the second half, all scored by Mishayla Jones
- CSP finished 30.6% (19-62) from the field against UIU. Concordia attempted 33 3-pointers while only making five (15.2%) and did not attempt a single free-throw the entire game

- Mishayla Jones averaged 19 points, 7.0 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 1.0 steal per game in the two losses

- Mary held UMD to 51 points and a .297 field goal percentage, the second-best mark for the Marauders in both categories this season
- Mary hit 46-of-53 free throws on the weekend while opponents were 24-of-32
- Big rebounding edge for Mary with a 78-59 advantage (46-25 over UMD)

- Sr. F Hannah Larson averaged 20 PPG and 8 RPG, making 13-of-25 free throws, 5-of-7 treys, 9-of-10 free throws
- Scored 23 points against SCSU, making 7-of-11 FG, all three trey attempts, was 6-for-6 free throws, added four rebounds and three blocks. Posted 17 points and 12 rebounds in win over UMD
- Fr. C Gabbie Bohl averaged 22.5 points and 8.0 rebounds over two games. She was 23-of-26 at the free throw line, including 15-of-18 against Minnesota Duluth
- Scored 28 points on 10-of-16 FG and 8-of-8 free throws with eight rebounds against SCSU. Had 17 points and eight rebounds against UMD
- Fr. F Cassie Askvig scored 11 points in each game last weekend. She hit 5-of-8 shots against SCSU and was 4-of-6 from the field, 3-of-3 at the line and had six rebounds against UMD

- The Golden Eagles fought hard against MSU Moorhead but it would be 10 minutes of scoreless basketball for the Golden Eagles that would thwart their efforts against the No. 16 team in the nation
- Minnesota Crookston was 22-of-65 from the field for 33.8 percent. They shot 8-of-26 for 30.8 percent from beyond the arc
- UMC shot 29.6 percent from the field, 33.3 percent from beyond the arc and 78.6 percent from the charity stripe against Northern State on Friday
- The Golden Eagles are sitting in sixth place in the NSIC standings heading into the final weekend. Minnesota Crookston still has a shot at the No. 5 seed. If UMC defeats both Minot State and U-Mary and U-Mary loses to both UMC and Bemidji State, UMC could move into the No. 5 slot. As of right now, UMC would either play Wayne State or Sioux Falls in the first round of the NSIC/Sanford Health Tournament

- Isieoma Odor had 11 points and five boards versus Northern State
- Stephanie McWilliams had a career-high of 15 points on 6-of-6 from the field versus MSU Moorhead

- The Bulldogs scored 45 points on 53.6 percent shooting in the first half against the Beavers, taking a 45-38 lead into the break
- In the loss to Mary, UMD was unable to find its rhythm from the floor, shooting a season-low 29.7 percent
- Sammy Kozlowski or Taylor Meyer has paced the Bulldogs in scoring for all but two games this season

- Sammy Kozlowski scored 19 points in each game and has now scored 19 points in three consecutive games. Kozlowski also added 3.5 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game on the weekend
- Taylor Meyer scored a team season-high 28 points in the loss to Minot State while adding six rebounds and three assists
- Emma Boehm snagged seven rebounds against Mary, tying her season-high in that category

- Junior Claire Ziegler recorded her fifth double-double of the season with a game-best 10 rebounds and 12 points at Winona State. She also tied for a game-high 13 points at Upper Iowa
- Freshman Taylor Klug netted a career-high 21 points with three rebounds and one block at Winona State
- She also tied a game-high 13 points at Upper Iowa
- Senior Karina Schroeder matched a career-best 12 rebounds and added nine points at Upper Iowa

- Started strong Saturday, leading by four after a 19-15 first quarter, but couldn’t hold on against St. Cloud State, falling 76-69

- Madison Wald upped her overall average to a career-high 9.8 points per game with 34 combined points on the weekend. She hit for a career-high 24 points against SCSU, making a school DII-era record six 3-pointers
- Kari Clements finished in double figures both nights, scoring 12 in the win over UMD to go along with a combined five rebounds, five assists and two steals
- Kori Eurich scored a season-high 16 points against SCSU, finishing with a 13.5 scoring average over two games and added 11 rebounds, six steals and four assists over two games

- Dropped final two regular season home games, falling to crosstown rival Augustana in overtime before struggling offensively against Wayne State on Senior Night.
- The 11th Division II meeting between USF and Augsutana needed an extra five minutes, where Augustana emerged with a 74-72 victory
- USF held AU to 30.6 percent shooting but allowed 16 offensive rebounds for 19 second chance points
- USF was held to 38.7 percent shooting while Wayne State hit over half their shots from the field in a 67-57 loss for the Cougars
- Five different Cougars scored at least six points, but WSC’s defense held the Cougars in check
Top Performer(s)
- Sam Knecht recorded two huge double-doubles, the ninth and 10th of her senior season, and she averaged 20.0 points, 15.5 rebounds, 3.0 blocks and 2.0 steals per game
- Knecht broke her own USF record with 19 rebounds against Augustana, the most in the NSIC this season, to go along with 18 points
- Scored 22 points, her fourth 20-point game of the season, and grabbed 12 rebounds against WSC
- Brooke Smith scored 17 off the bench and Madi Robson added 16 in USF’s loss to Augie

- The Huskies also were able to perform a complete 180 on their shooting percentages moving from 25 percent (3-12) from beyond the arch to making 55 percent (5-9) of their shots from beyond in the second half
- The Huskies outscored the Beavers in second chance points 9-6
- The Huskies also outscored Minot State 26-15 in points off turnovers

- Upper Iowa defeated Concordia-St. Paul at home on Saturday, 51-43, to earn a split in their final two home games of the 2016-17 season
- The Peacocks held the Golden Bears to just 14 points in the second half and only 5-33 shooting from three
- On Friday, the Peacocks lost to Minnesota State, 65-48, as the Mavericks owned a 52-36 advantage in rebounds
- UIU shot just 31.1% from the field and 25% from three while averaging 49.5 points, but the Peacock defense was stout allowing opponents just a 33.6% conversion rate on shots and 16.7% from deep and holding their guests to 54 points a game

- Blair Klostermann led the Peacocks with 12.5 points per game, while Carly Pagel added 9.5 points and 5 rebounds a game
- Haley Martin led UIU on the glass with 8 boards a game and added 6.5 points
- UIU honored four seniors including former players and current managers Sarah Benson and Emily Gustafson, as well as guard Sam Ofstad and center Carly Pagel
