NSIC Athletes of the Week
NSIC Women's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week
Alexis Zeis (Distance, Jr., Bismarck, ND / Bismarck HS)
University of Mary
- In her first 5,000 meter race of the indoor season, Zeis won the event at the SDSU Indoor Classic by nearly 40 seconds
- Posted an NCAA automatic qualifying time of 16:20.50, the second-best time in the nation
- Set a facility and school record in the event
- Automatically qualified for the NCAA championships a week earlier in the 3,000 meter run with the nation’s top time of 9:17.61
- Named NSIC Track Athlete of the Week for the second consecutive week

Winona State
- Won the weight throw with an NCAA automatic qualifying heave of 70-2.25 at the SDSU Classic
- Ranks second in the nation as she won event by over seven feet versus several division I throwers
- Placed seventh in the women’s shot put with an NCAA provisional toss of 44-7.5
- Named NSIC Field Athlete of the Week for the second time this season (12/6/16)

- Vanessa Rae Lopez Broke the Bemidji State mile record, placing second at the SDSU Indoor Classic with a 5:20.24
- The mark trimmed 1.15 seconds from Nicole Crummy’s 2015 record. Friday, Lopez clocked the ninth-best 1,000-meter time in the NSIC this season, finishing 17th in the event with a 3:06.61
- Freshman Savanah Olson turned in a distance of 41-feet, 5.25-inches to claim first place in the shot put at the YellowJacket Open by more than 13 inches |

- Madison Kealy was third in the 1,000 meters at the YellowJacket Open
- The sophomore clocked the fastest time of her collegiate career, finishing in 3:19.97
- Jada Barker placed 24th among 139 competitors in the 200-meter dash at the SDSU Indoor Classic, clocking a season-best time of 25.85. Her time ranks as the 12th fastest in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference this season and was less than a second over the BSU 200-meter record
- Alex Coleman also competed at the 200-meter distance at the SDSU Indoor Classic, posting a season-best time of her own with a 26.48
- Coleman placed 10th with 3,117 points at the NSIC multi-event championships. She scored her best event in the 60-meter hurdles, netting 844 points and finishing seventh in the 15-women field, clocking a time of 9.32 seconds. In addition, she recorded a collegiate-best 17 feet, 3.5 inches in the long jump to earn 634 points
- Christa Benson generated 2,737 points to finish 13th at the NSIC multi-event championships
- The 60-meter hurdles also stood as her highest scoring event. She finished 11th with a time of 9.96 to net 720 points
- She also finished sixth among the field in the 800-meter dash to score 622 points with a time of 2:35.78 |

- Soph. Maria Bolibruch won the 60 meter hurdles in an NCAA provisional qualifying time of 8.54 seconds, tying her with teammate Tonie-Ann Pandohie for the second-best clocking in the nation this season
- Jr. All-American Tonie-Ann Pandohie posted two NCAA provisional qualifying marks, the 60 meter hurdles (8.64 seconds) and the 200 meter dash (22.05 seconds)
- Sr. All-American Melanie Rodriguez registered a provisional qualifying time of 56.94 seconds in the 400 meter dash
- Fr. Nelecia Richards tied a Mary school record in the 600 meter run 1:34.12 |
