NCAA Interactive Bracket
INDIANAPOLIS – The NCAA has announced the eight teams that will compete at the central region men's basketball tournament and the NSIC will have four teams continuing their seasons. Southwest Minnesota State, Augustana, MSU Moorhead and Upper Iowa each earned a spot in the NCAA post-season tournament.
SMSU (26-5) earned the second seed in the tournament and will take on seventh seed of Arkansas Tech out of the GAC. Augustana (23-8) was the fifth seed and will take on Arkansas-Monticello from the GAC. MSU Moorhead (24-5), the sixth seed, will battle the third seed of East Central out the GAC while Upper Iowa (22-10) earned the eighth seed and will take on the host of the central region, Northwest Missouri State of the MIAA.
SMSU (NSIC), Northwest Missouri State (MIAA) and East Central (GAC) each earned automatic bids to the NCAA Central Region Tournament with their conference tournament championships. The NSIC, the Great American Conference (GAC) and the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association (MIAA) make up the NCAA Central Region again this year.
The NCAA Elite 8 will take place on March 22-23 and 24 at the Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
