MORTON, Minn. (Dacotah Ridge – Par 72 – 5906 yards) - Augustana holds a 18 stroke lead over Concordia-St. Paul following the first round of the NSIC Women’s Golf Championships, played at Dacotah Ridge Golf Course in Morton, Minnesota. The Vikings shot a 304 to sit at 16-over-par. CSP shot a 322 (+34) while Minnesota State shot a 323 (+35) to sit in third.
Augustana’s Emily Israelson and Kali Trautmann sit atop the leaderboard after rounds of 3-over-par rounds of 75. Concordia-St. Paul’s Savannah Stone and Augie’s Hannah Hankinson are tied for third at 4-over par, while Minnesota State’s Nattiya Somboonsup and Augie’s Sierra Langlie are tied for fifth at 6-over-par.
The NSIC Women’s Golf Championship will continued Saturday morning with 9 a.m. tee times. The final round is set for Sunday at 9 a.m. with a shotgun start.
The NSIC had five teams ranked in the second
NCAA Women's Golf Regional Ranking of the season. Augustana was ranked fourth while Minnesota State, Winona State, Southwest Minnesota State and Concordia-St. Paul were ranked 11 to 14.
The entire field for the NCAA Women's Golf Championships will be announced Monday, May 1 on NCAA.com. The NCAA Central Super Regional will be played at Minnehaha Country Club in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, hosted by Augustana University on May 8-10. The NCAA Championships will be held May 17-20 at Findlay Country Club; Findlay, Ohio (hosted by the University of Findlay).
