NSIC Offensive Player of the Week
#3 Daniel Davis (WR, 5-11, 170, Jr., Tarpon Springs, Fla. / Tarpon Springs HS / Garden City C.C.) - Southwest Minnesota State

- Tied a school record with four touchdown receptions in SMSU’s 55-6 win over Minnesota Crookston
- Finished with a game-high six receptions for 134 yards in three quarters of play
- Recorded his third 100-yard receiving game of the season
- Had touchdown receptions of 18, 32, 19 and 30 in the game
- Leads SMSU this season in receptions (36), yards (582) and touchdowns (8)
- Is second Mustang to earn NSIC Offensive Player of the Week honors, joining Blake Gimbel (10/1/18)

#37 Mitchel Siech (LB, 6-1, 200, Jr., Denver, Iowa / Denver HS) - Upper Iowa

- Intercepted two passes in a 44-9 win at Minot State
- Returned one interception 26 yards for a Peacock touchdown
- Recorded 3 tackles in the game, two tackles for loss, including a sack and broke up two passes

NSIC Special Teams Player of the Week
#31 Jonathan Argueta-Herrera (K/P, 6-1, 190, Fr., Des Moines, Iowa, East HS) - Upper Iowa

- Scored 14 points for the Peacocks with three field goals and five extra points
- The field goals came from 40, 35 and 44 yards as he improves to 6-for-6 on the year
- Recorded 543 kickoff yards on 10 kicks for a 54.3 yard average
 
Augustana University Vikings

Team Notes
- The Vikings forced three turnovers (two interceptions and one fumble), while limiting the Bulldogs to less than 400 yards of offense
- Augustana totaled 17 first downs, and now sits second in DII with 167 first downs on the season
- With four kickoff returns for nearly 100 yards, the Vikings lead the NSIC with an average of 26.5 yards per return

- Kirby Hora finished with a season-high 13 tackles (five solo), one sack, one interception, and one fumble recovery
- Rudy Sinflorant rushed for 94 yards on 20 carries. He stands second in the NSIC with 122.6 yards per game

- Bemidji State came back from a 21-3 deficit in the third quarter to win its ninth straight Homecoming game
- BSU outscored USF, 22-0, after the 8:30 mark in the third quarter
- The Beavers’ secondary took away two interceptions while the defense held the Cougars to 2-of-4 scoring on red zone trips
- Two of BSU’s three touchdowns came on five-yard rushes by senior running back Andrew Lackowski out of the Wildcat formation
- A BSU running back toted the ball at least 30 times for the first time since 2013
- The Gang Green defense continues to rank first in the nation with a red zone defense of 45.5 percent
- BSU totaled at least 10 tackles for a loss for the second straight game

- Senior running back Andrew Lackowski rushed a career-high 35 times for 126 yards and two touchdowns, both coming from five yards out in the Wildcat formation
- Junior quarterback Jared Henning went 16-of-25 passing with 166 yards and a 40-yard touchdown pass to senior wide receiver Landon Jones
- Sophomore receiver Mannie Kugmeh led the receiving corps with six catches for 49 yards
- Five Beavers caught at least two passes in the game
- Sophomore linebacker Gabe Ames led the defense with nine tackles, and added 1.0 tackle for a loss and 0.5 sacks
- Senior defensive lineman Dylan Ellingson and junior linebacker Grant Bushinski each led the defense with 2.0 tackles for a loss

- Lost turnover margin 6-0, leading to 28 points off turnovers for NSU
- After starting the year +5 in turnover margin (9-4) with a 28-0 points off turnover advantage, CSP is 1-9 in the take/give the last two weeks, leading to a 37-0 reversal in points off turnovers in a pair of losses
- CSP racked up a season-high 27 first downs, held a 232-100 edge in rushing yards and 494-352 in total offense
- Concordia converted 8-of-12 on third down while holding Northern State to 6-of-14 including 0-for-2 on fourth down

- Sophomore Lajuan Preston has registered back-to-back 100-yard rushing performances, posting a team, season high 141 yards on 21 carries and is 10th in the NSIC in rushing yards (388) and fourth with 7.2 yards per carry
- Redshirt freshman cornerback Marcus Haskins had his streak of five straight games with an interception come to a close, but had a pair of pass breakups to give him a league-high 13 on the year for a total of 18 passes defended (13 PBU & 5 INT)
- Junior MJ Williams had his first 100 yard game with CSP with seven catches for 115 yards with a long of 44
- He ranks eighth with 406 receiving yards and 10th with 28 catches in the NSIC
- Sophomore Chris Garrett had 2.5 sacks, a season-high and is now third in the league in sacks with 1.0 per game played

- Groebner is already 77 receiving yards ahead of Connette with 379 yards receiving through six games
- The Golden Eagles return home Sat., Oct. 13 to take on Winona State at 1 p.m. at Ed Widseth Field
- Julian Jackson is sixth in the NSIC for tackles per game with 8.6 tackles per game in the five games he has appeared in this season

W 28-17 at AUGIE 6-0, 4-0 North W6 4th Overall, 1st North
Team Notes
- UMD kept its perfect 2018 record intact and ran its regular season road winning streak to 13 games by prevailing over Augustana 28-17
-The Bulldogs used a balanced offensive attack (196 yards both via the air and the ground) en route to defeating the Vikings for the ninth consecutive time
- The Bulldogs return to James Malosky Stadium this Saturday to host Southwest Minnesota State to cap off Homecoming week on the UMD campus
- The Bulldogs are 8-1 in their last nine games against the Mustangs with that lone loss (42-38)coming the last time the two clubs collided (Sept. 1, 2016 in Marshall, Minn.)
- UMD has outscored the opposition 63-3 in the first quarter this fall and that lone field goal came in the season opener at Minot State
- The Bulldogs rank third among all NCAA II schools in total defense (215 yards per game) and have given up the third fewest points (11.8 per game) in the country

- Sophomore quarterback John Larson became the first Bulldog to crack the 100-yard rushing mark this season, finishing with a career-high 104 yards on 17 carries in Saturday’s road triumph. He also completed 16 of 30 passes for 196 yards and two touchdowns
- Nate Ricci led both teams with six receptions, giving him 127 for his career
- That moved him into the No. 8 spot on the program’s all-time charts, one ahead of fellow senior team captain Jason Balts, who has been sidelined the past two weekends with a lower body injury
- Senior cornerback Tareq Abulebbeh picked off two passes (giving him a Bulldog-best five on the season) and paced the Bulldogs defensively with six total tackles

Team Notes
- Minnesota State set a team, single-game record with 10 sacks against MSU Moorhead
- Junior Nate Gunn recorded three rushing touchdowns in a game for the third time this season
- Senior Trevor Nissen returned a kickoff 82 yards for a touchdown; MSU’s first kick return for a touchdown since the 2011 season
- Junior Shane Zylstra tallied 132 receiving yards and a touchdown
- This is the second time this season and fifth time in his career that he has tallied 100 receiving yards or more in a game
- Sophomore Chance Bowen has recorded at least two sacks in MSU’s last three games
- MSU has now won 19 straight NSIC games

- MSUM is third in the NSIC with a 39.6 conversion percentage on third downs
- Sophomore WR Grady Bresnahan second in NSIC at 7.2 receptions per game while sophomore WR Jake Richter is tied for fourth at 5.33
- Senior DB Aaron Doan fourth in NSIC at 8.8 tackles per game

- Sophomore RB Ty Jochim rushed for 71 yards and two scores on 10 carries to lead the ground game
- Sophomore RB Zach Simons also rushed for a score
- Sophomore WR Jake Richter caught eight passes for 86 yards

- Senior LB Michael Strand and sophomore LB Matt Schoh each had nine tackles

Team Notes
- The Northern State football team spoiled the Concordia-St. Paul homecoming on Saturday afternoon
- The Wolves recorded five offensive touchdowns, and one defensive score
- Northern combined for 100 yards rushing, 252 yards passing, and 352 yards of total offense
- The defense tallied four interceptions with 112 return yards and one touchdown
- They also recorded two sacks for a total loss of 20 yards
Top Performer(s)
- Hunter Trautman notched 235 yards passing with four touchdowns and a 44-yard long. The sophomore also added 15 yards rushing and a 17-yard reception
- Dakota Larson notched 141 yards receiving, leading the team with two touchdowns
- Alex Gray led the defense with 12 total tackles and the pick six midway through the first quarter
- Preston Droessler, Josh Coyle, and Noah MacPherson each recorded a team second best ten tackles

Team Notes
- USF had a three-game winning streak end in a 25-21 loss at Bemidji State
- The loss to Bemidji State ended an 18-game USF winning streak against NSIC North opponents
- USF leads the NSIC in rushing at 279.5 yards per game, including league best 6.1 yards per carry
- The Cougars rank fourth in scoring at 34.5 ppg and fourth in scoring defense at 18.8 ppg
Top Performer(s)
- Junior running back Gabriel Watson had 27 carries for 126 yards and three TDs
- Watson has now rushed for 100 yards in six straight games, which is the longest streak since Nephi Garcia had seven straight 100-yard rushing games in 2013
- He is USF’s 29th 1,000-yard rusher, including the third at the NCAA DII era
- He has reached the plateau of 1,000 rushing yards faster than any running back in school history.  
- Junior Colton Myles had two blocked punts which set up touchdowns for USF in the first half against Bemidji State
- With 65 yards against BSU, Myles surpassed 500 yards on the season and has a career-best 501 on 72 carries with three TDs
- USF redshirt sophomore linebacker Harvey (Michael) Enalls had a career-best with 13 tackles, recorded a sack, tackle for loss and forced a fumble
- He was one of five USF players with career highs in tackles against BSU
- Brody Grantham had 12 tackles, Nate Durfee, 11; while Parker Gregston and Joey Wehrkamp had nine
- Wehrkamp had three tackles for loss and a fumble recovery

- SMSU extened its winning streak to three straight with a 55-6 homecoming win over UMC
- The SMSU defense forced six turnovers and now has recorded 12 combined turnovers during the three-game winning streak
- The SMSU defense has forced three or more turnovers in four of six games this season
- The three-game winning streak is the program’s longest since the 2016 season
- SMSU has scored 50-plus points in back-to-back games for the first time since the 2013 season
- SMSU finished with season-highs in rush yards (256), total yards (548) and first downs (28)
Top Performer(s)
- Senior quarterback Blake Gimbel completed 24 of 34 passes for 280 yards and four touchdowns.
- Gimbel has moved into sole possession of second in the school record book for passing yards and now has amassed 8,754
- Junior wide receiver Daniel Davis caught a game-high six passes for 134 yards and tied a school record with four touchdown receptions
- Junior defensive end Tyshonn Woodard had six tackles, including three for loss, a fumble recovery and also blocked a field goal
- Sophomore kicker Skyler Crew booted field goals of 28 and 26 yards. It was his first field goals made this season

Last Week Season Record Streak Preseason Poll
W 23-17 vs WSC 4-2, 3-1 North W1 7th Overall, 3rd North
Team Notes
- The Huskies defense once again held a team to under 100 yards rushing, as they held the Wildcats to just 56 net yards rushing on Saturday
- Sophomore Adam Stage made nine consecutive field goals during the month of September and through the first half of the game on Saturday
- Stage was 3-4 for field goal attempts on Saturday, with only miss being a 46-yarder against the wind
- Two different Husky receivers recorded 50+ yards in the air and accounted for both of the team’s touchdowns. John Solberg led the team with 69 yards and a touchdown, while John Pass was right behind with 67 yards receiving and a touchdown as well. Sam Hartman just missed the 50 yard mark with a 49-yard performance

- Ferris Ingraham had seven tackles (4 solo, three assist); 2.5 tackles for a loss of 15 yards; one sack for 10 yards
- Jack Horter had eight tackles (8 solo); one sack for loss of 11 yards; one forced fumble; one recovered fumble

Upper Iowa University Peacocks
Last Week Season Record Streak Preseason Poll

Team Notes
- The Peacocks posted a 44-9 victory over Minot State University after executing in all three phases of the game
- The Peacock offense racked up 452 yards thanks to 162 yards in the air and a new season-high 290 yards on the ground
- The UIU defense limited the Beavers to 280 yards of offense and intercepted three MiSU passes including one for a defensive touchdown
- On special teams, the Peacocks converted three field goals and all five extra points
Top Performer(s)
- Ryan Parmely led the running backs in touches and yards in his 2018 debut, but six additional players each had at least two carries
- Jon Deprey carried 10 times for 73 yards, while Matt McDonald carried 6 times for 56 yards
- Brent Lammers completed 72.7% (16-22) of his passes for 169 yards and 2 touchdowns
- Alexander Stevens grabbed two passes for 65 yards and a score, while Skyler Lehman and Brandyn Tulloch each nabbed 4 catches
- Jordan Rommes recorded 14 tackles including 13 solo stops, 3.5 tackles for loss and 2 sacks and Isaac Barrett made 11 tackles including 7 solos
- Nic Patterson added 9 tackles and an interception
- Mitchel Siech picked off a pair of passes and returned one to the end zone for a touchdown; the junior now has three interceptions on the season
