SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Winona State University will be playing for the NSIC Tournament Championship for the first time since 2011 on Tuesday night after defeating Concordia University-St. Paul on Monday by a score of 66-56.

The Warriors were red-hot from three-point range, shooting at a 48 percent in the semifinal game. Gabie Doud went 4-for-5 from downtown in the first half and scored 14 of her 15 points over the first two quarters against the Golden Bears.

The sophomore gave Winona State the lead for good at the 3:02 mark of the first period with one of her baskets from beyond the arc. Doud connected on a trio of threes over the final three minutes and sent the game into the second quarter with the Warriors on top, 20-14.

Liz Evenocheck drained both of her three-point attempts late in the second quarter, and Doud put the exclamation point on her big first half with another long-range basket in the final seconds to extend the Warrior lead to 37-27 at halftime.

The second half saw Allie Pickrain heat up from beyond the arc as the NSIC Freshman of the Year went 4-for-5 over the final two quarters from three-point land.

Concordia cut its lead to eight points in the fourth quarter, but Winona never let off the gas and punched their ticket to the championship game.

Pickrain led all players with 17 points. Evenocheck chipped in 12 points while Hannah McGlone scored 10 and pulled down eight rebounds.

The Warriors (17-12) advance to Tuesday's title tilt against the winner of the other semifinal game between Augustana and Sioux Falls. The championship game is slated to tip at 7:30 p.m. from the Sanford Pentagon.
