NSIC Women’s Field Athlete of the Year
Michaela Dendinger (Throws, Sr., Coleridge, Neb. / Hartington HS)
Wayne State
- NSIC champion in shot put and weight throw
- Set new school record of 65-6 to win the NSIC weight throw
- Won the NSIC shot put with mark of 49-10, leading group of WSC throwers that placed 1st, 2nd and 4th in event
- Set new school record in shot put at 54-10.5 at Sevigne Husker Invite on February 2
- Named NSIC Women’s Indoor Field Athlete of the Week three times this season
- Leads NCAA Division II in shot put
- Ranked second in NCAA Division II in weight throw
- Named NSIC Preseason Women’s Field Athlete of the Year
NSIC Women’s Track Athlete of the Year
Alexis Zeis (Distance, Sr., Bismarck, ND / Bismarck HS)
University of Mary
- Triple-event winner and high-scorer at the 2018 NSIC Indoor Track & Field championships
- Scored 30 points to lead the Marauders to the school’s seventh team title and the first since 2015
- Won the mile and both the 3,000 and 5,000 meter runs
- First person to win all three of those events at the same NSIC indoor championship
- Believed to be the first person to win the three longest races at an NSIC indoor championship
- Won the 3K all four years she competed in the NSIC
- Owns back-to-back championships in the 5K and three in four years
- 10-time All-American and two-time national champion was selected to compete in the 3K and the 5K at the NCAA championships
NSIC Women’s Newcomer of the Year
Taryn Ceglowski (Distance, Fr., Salida, Colo. / Salida HS)
Sioux Falls
- Posted two All-NSIC finishes at the NSIC Championships
- Placed second in the women's mile and third in the 800-meter run
- Recorded provisional qualifying times in the 800-meter and mile runs
- Ranks top 15 in NCAA Division II in both 800-meter and mile
- Broke three USF individual records: 800-, 1,000-meter and mile runs
- Ran anchor leg on USF record distance medley relay team
- Owns the top 800- and 1,000-meter run times in the NSIC and ranks second in the mile
NSIC Women’s Coach of the Year

University of Mary
- Led Marauders to first indoor title since 2015 in his first season as UMary track & field head coach
- Marauders posted wins in six events, claiming four individual titles and sweeping the two relays
- Also had six runners-up at the championship meet
- The 150 team points is the most scored by the Marauders at the indoor championships since scoring 170 in 2013
- UMary earned 19 All-NSIC citations
- Marauders will send nine athletes to compete at the NCAA indoor championships, covering three individual events and two relays
- UMary is ranked 11th in country in USTFCCCA poll
- A 3-time NSIC women’s cross country coach of the year (2010, ’16, ’17)
All-Conference performers consist of the top three place winners in each event and the members of the top two relay teams from the conference meet.
