Minnesota Duluth's Kendall Hill earns NSIC Elite 18 Award for men’s outdoor track & field

WINONA, Minn. - Kendall Hill of the University of Minnesota Duluth was named the 2018 NSIC Elite 18 Award winner for men’s outdoor track & field. Hill was presented the award during the post championship ceremony at the NSIC Outdoor Track & Field Championships, which were held the past two days at Paul Giel Field in Winona, Minnesota. Hill becomes the sixth Bulldog (eighth occasion) to earn the Elite 18 Award joining Grant Pulver (Cross Country 2016 & 2017), Jason Balts (Football - 2017), Makenzie Morgen (volleyball - 2017), Michaela Hesse (indoor track & field - 2017-18) and Valerie Hohol (softball 2017 & 2018).

Hill is a junior majoring in civil engineering and holds a 4.00 grade point average. The Duluth, Minnesota native finished 15th in the 3000m-steeplechase at the NSIC Championships with a time of 10:01.80. Hill's top times including 2:49.74 in the 1000m, 4:17.93 in the 1500m, 4:37.83 in the mile, 33:08.13 in the 10,000, and 9:55.16 in 3000m-steeplechase. 

As part of the NSIC 25th Anniversary celebration, the NSIC Elite 18 Award was instituted to recognize the true essence of the student-athlete by honoring the individual who has reached the pinnacle of competition at the NSIC Championship level in his or her sport, while also achieving the highest academic standard among his or her peers. The NSIC Elite 18 award is presented to the student-athlete with the highest cumulative grade-point average participating at the finals site for each of the NSIC’s 18 Championships.
