BURNSVILLE, Minn. - The eight-time defending NSIC Champions of Minnesota State University, Mankato were picked to win the NSIC in the preseason men's indoor track & field coaches' poll. The Mavericks received 11 first place votes and tallied 121 points, ranking them ahead of the University of Mary, which was second with 105 points. Augustana was third with 101 points and the other first place vote.

Augustana's Tyl Woelber (field) and Sioux Falls' Zach Lundberg (track) were selected as the preseason athletes of the year. Woelber was named the 2019 NSIC Outdoor Field Athlete of the Year and NSIC Newcomer of the Year last spring after winning the javelin (189-7.25). Lundberg is coming off back-to-back second team All-American performance in the 1500m the past two seasons as was the 2017 NSIC Outdoor Newcomer of the Year.

The 2019-20 NSIC indoor track & field season gets underway on Friday, December 6 with the regular season culminating on Friday-Saturday, February 28-29 at the NSIC Championship held at Myers Fieldhouse in Mankato, Minnesota, hosted by Minnesota State University, Mankato.
