NSIC Baseball Players of the Week

NSIC Player of the Week
#16 Jordan Hart (OF, 6-1, 210, Sr., L/R, Lyle, Minn. / Lyle HS)
Minnesota State
- Had a .524 batting average on the week against Southwest Minnesota State and Minot State
- Recorded 11 hits including a double, six RBI, two runs scored, a walk and a hit by pitch
- Had his first walk-off hit of the season in the 2-1 extra inning win against SMSU with a single through the left side
- Had his second walk-off hit of the season in the bottom of the seventh inning against Minot State in the 5-4 win with a double off the right field fence
- Recorded a hit in all five games with four of the five games being multi-hit games
- Leads the team with a .457 batting average, 37 hits, seven doubles, six home runs, 26 RBI, 62 total bases, a .765 slugging percentage, a .500 on-base percentage and a 1.000 fielding percentage with 36 putouts and two outfield assists.
- Also is currently leading the NSIC in batting average and total bases, while also being tied for first in home runs and fielding percentage
- Named NSIC Player of the Week for the second time this season (3/4/19)

- Pitched all eight innings in a 2-1 win over SMSU
- Ended with a career high 11 strikeouts with one walk
- Allowed one run in the first inning on six total hits for a .200 batting average against
- Induced nine groundouts and four flyouts
- Both starts this season have been complete games

-The Bulldogs are mired in a seven-game losing skid, having lost both ends of a doubleheader at defending NCAA II national champion Augustan on March 21 and all three games in a weekend series at Wayne State College. The last of those setbacks to the Wildcats came on a walk-off walk. -After opening the 2019 season with 16 straight games away from Duluth, the Bulldogs are scheduled to make their home debut this Saturday with an NSIC doubleheader against CSP

- Sophomore outfielder Henry George paced the Bulldogs during the past week with a .368 batting average and a .429 on base percentage while playing in all five games -Senior designated hitter Tyler Wojciechowski batted .357 in four outings and had four of the team’s 11 RBI - For the season, George his hitting at a team-leading .297 clip. - Sophomore right hander Liam Blaschko has yet to allow an earned run in 2019, having pitched 11.1 innings and surrendering just one run overall.

MSU now has three walk-off wins on the season - The pitching staff added two more complete games against SMSU as freshman Jack Zigan and sophomore Jimmy Larson both went the distance - The CG total for MSU is up to five this season - Offensively the Mavericks hit .280 on the week with 13 extra base hits as the pitching staff held a 2.40 earned run average

- Senior outfielder Jordan Hart had a .524/.571/.583 slash line on the week with a double, six RBI, two runs scored, two walks and a hit by pitch - Hart also had both of the Mavericks walk-off hits this week with a single against SMSU and a double against Minot State - Junior infielder Ty Buck hit an even .300 on the week with two triples (leading the team with four on the season), six RBI, five runs scored and two walks - Freshman right-hander Jack Zigan (2-0) pitched an eight inning complete game, allowing one run on six hits and one walk, while striking out a career high 11 batters - Sophomore right-hander Jimmy Larson (2-2) pitched a seven inning complete game, allowing one run on five hits and no walks with five strikeouts - Sophomore right-hander Cam Kline (4-0) received a no decision after pitching six and two-thirds of a seven inning game, allowing four runs (zero earned runs) on five hits and a walk. USF scored seven straight runs in three straight games (NSU, 7-6 L; NSU, 7-3 win; and SCSU, 12-7 loss) - The USF pitching staff, which has a 7.01 era, has a solid strikeout to walk ratio. They have recorded 134 strikeouts with 62 walks in 164.1 innings
