Ritzer Thomas played basketball for four years and was a three-year member of the softball team at Minnesota Duluth and graduated with a degree in Community Health/Health Education in 1991. Ritzer Thomas became just the second player ever and the first Bulldog to earn All-NSIC basketball recognition in four straight seasons. She was also a three-time All-NSIC performer in softball. On the court, she recorded the second-highest lifetime scoring totals in Minnesota Duluth history with 1,887 points and played a school-record 128 consecutive games over her four seasons. Ritzer Thomas helped lead the Bulldogs to a 99-29 record, three NSIC titles (1989, 1990 and 1991) and made three trips to the NAIA National Tournament (1989, 1990 and 1991). On the diamond, Ritzer Thomas compiled a 48-9 career pitching record and a 1.29 earned run average in 63 career appearances. She also maintained a lifetime .316 batting average as an outfielder. Voted Minnesota Duluth’s Outstanding Senior Female Athlete following the 1989-90 season, Ritzer Thomas was inducted into the Minnesota Duluth Athletic Hall of Fame in 2004. A native of Stillwater, Minn., Ritzer Thomas was inducted into the St. Croix Valley Sports Hall of Fame in 2003. Ritzer Thomas resides in Duluth with her husband Mark, a former Bulldog offensive lineman, three sons, Jared, Jace, and Justin and daughter, Jordyn. Currently a promotions coordinator for Cub Foods in Duluth, Ritzer Thomas was an assistant softball coach from 1998-2000 and assistant basketball coach from 1994-96 at Duluth Central High School. She was also the assistant softball coach at the University of Wisconsin Superior in 1992.
