Huber was a three-sport athlete at Bemidji State from 1962-1966, competing in gymnastics, swimming and track. During his time at Bemidji State, Huber set 12 pole vault records and advanced to the 1965 Track and Field National Championships. In swimming, Huber set the school record in the 400 freestyle relay and participated in the 1964 National Championships. He was also a member of the gymnastics team that competed in the 1964 and 1965 National Championships. Following graduation from Bemidji State in 1967, Huber served as a high school track and field and swimming coach. An active volunteer at the Veterans Administration Hospital, Huber is also a member of the ADA Commission at the Central Minnesota Care Center. He is also an active advocate for the rights of the disabled and volunteer girls’ track and field coach. In July, 2003, Huber attended the 18th Annual National Veterans Wheelchair games. Huber, inducted into the Bemidji State Hall of Fame in 1996, and his wife, Nancy, reside in St. Cloud, Minn.
