Lee is a 1983 graduate of Southwest State University with a degree in physical education/teaching. During his time at Southwest Minnesota State, Lee was a four-year letterwinner in football and wrestling and earned two letters as a member of the baseball team. Lee was also a two-year captain of the wrestling team. In football, Lee earned all-NIC honors in 1981, the school’s first winning season. He had 54 tackles for losses and a school-record 30 sacks. He was NIC Champion in wrestling in 1981 at 190 pounds and was an Intercollegiate Athletics Wrestling All-American in 1981 at 177 pounds as he finished fifth at the national meet. He was also named Southwest State’s Most Valuable Wrestler in 1981. On the baseball diamond, Lee earned all-NIC honors in 1993 and was selected as Southwest State’s Most Valuable Player in 1983. Lee resides in Madison, Minn., where he runs a farm.
