Warriors Extend Shutout Streak To Eight

ABERDEEN, SD – The Winona State soccer team ran its winning streak to eight games with a 2-0 victory over Northern State. The Warriors have now not allowed a goal in eight consecutive games and have outscored its opponents 15-0 in NSIC play.

Rebecca McCoy got the Warriors on the board just 14 minutes into the game, collecting a loose ball off a corner kick and finding the back of the net. Sarah Colleran added a second goal for WSU, taking a pass from Melissa Sellier and scoring to put the Warriors up 2-0. Winona State outshot Northern State 15-10.

WSU goalkeeper Anna Belpedio saved both the NSU shots on goal she saw.

The Warriors will be back in action Sunday when they travel to Mary. Kickoff is set for noon.
