WINONA, MN – Winona State scored twice in the second half as it ran its shutout streak to six games with a 2-0 win over St. Cloud State Saturday in Winona.
Tied at zero at the half, Winona State got on the board immediately in the second half with Sarah Colleran scoring off a pass from Melissa Sellier just six minutes in. Sellier would go on to score a goal of her own, finding the back of the net in the 78th minute to give the Warriors an insurance score. Amanda Bergstedt was credited with the assist on the play.
Winona State outshot St. Cloud State 17-5 on the game with the Warriors putting six of those shots on goal. Goalkeeper Anna Belpedio recorded three saves on the game.
The Warriors pushed their record to 8-2-1 overall on the season and 6-0 in league play. WSU has recorded a shutout in each of its NSIC games, outscoring its opponents 10-0 in those games.
Winona State will return to the field Sunday for a 1 pm game against Concordia-St. Paul.
