Golden, Colo.— The Minnesota State Mavericks (17-3-2) season came to a close Sunday as it lost 1-0 in overtime to Colorado Mines in Golden, Colo. The Mavericks went 1-1 in the NCAA tournament in 2011.
After a scoreless and windy 90 minutes of play, Oredigger forward Erin Onat beat MSU goalkeeperMolly McGough in the lower left corner at the 99:17 mark of the game. The game-winner was assist by Anna Evans. McGough had four saves on the day.
In the first half the Orediggers outshot the Mavericks 8-1 and outshot MSU 13-4 in the game.
The Mavericks tied the school record for wins this season (17) and outscored opponents 56-11 in its 23 games in 2011.
