WINONA, MN – Katy Soliday scored with less than ten minutes to play as Winona State earned a 1-0 victory over Minnesota Duluth Saturday in Winona.

Soliday was able to corral a loose ball in front of the goal and find the back of the net to give WSU the only goal it needed to earn the win. The goal was the second of the season for Soliday while Samantha Fegen was credited with the assist.

The Warrior defense was solid once again, recording its second consecutive shutout. Goalkeeper Anna Belpedio made seven saves on 11 Minnesota Duluth shots.

The first half was a battle for field position, with the teams combining for ten shots in the half. The tempo picked up after halftime as Winona State saw a couple opportunities for a goal to be just wide.

The Warriors are now 4-2-1 on the season and 2-0 in conference play. WSU will host Bemidji State Sunday at 1 pm in Verizon Wireless Stadium.
