The University of Minnesota Duluth answered a devastating loss in a big way Saturday afternoon, racking up a 3-0 (25-21, 25-18, 25-23) victory over Wayne State College in Wayne, Neb. The Bulldogs, who came up short in a five-set thriller at Augustana the night before, have not lost consecutive matches since Nov. 11-12, 2011.

UMD (18-2 overall and 9-2 in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference) hit .277 with a combined 49 kills behind the setting of rookie Ashley Hinsch, who added seven digs. Wayne State (15-6; 7-4) combined for just 34 kills on the legs of a .171 attack percentage.

Junior outside hitter Kate Lange led the way once again on offense, posting a match-high 16 kills. The 2011 first team All-American also collected 14 digs for her second double-double in as many outings. Senior Kalli Lochner had a nice day in the middle, clubbing 13 kills on 27 swings.

The Bulldogs return home on Tuesday to take on NSIC travel partner St. Cloud State University at Romano Gymnasium, where UMD is undefeated in nine matches this season.
