WINONA, Minn. – The Winona State tennis team began its spring season with a convincing 9-0 victory over St. Mary’s Friday in Winona.

The Warriors began the meet with three doubles victories. WSU teams of Erin Kappers and Leah Dahl as well as Leah Koehler and Leah Roesslein claimed 8-2 victories. Jessica Urban and Leah Lindstrand also earned a 8-4 win.

Four of the Warriors’ six singles players earned two-set victories, highlighted by Urban’s 6-0, 6-0 win. Kappers, Lindstrand and Koehler also claimed the two-set wins.

Winona State will return to action on Feb. 17 when it hosts Sioux Falls.
