Frauendorfer averaged 4.83 kills per set with zero attack errors in NSIC home wins over Minnesota Crookston and Bemidji State.  She hit an NSIC high .690 in two matches with 29 kills and no attack errors on 42 attempts.  She had 14 kills, no errors on 17 attacks for a .824 percentage in a 3-0 sweep over Minnesota Crookston and then added 15 kills with no errors on 25 attacks in a 3-0 sweep over Bemidji State Saturday.  She also added five service aces on the week.

Banks led the NSIC in digs per set last week as she averaged 6.88 per set in two wins.  She tied a career-best 30 digs in a win over Bemidji State and followed that up with 25 digs in the four-set victory over Minnesota Crookston. Banks leads the Vikings with 5.04 digs per set and is second in the NSIC as she is averaging 5.04 per set.  This marks the second time this season Banks has been named NSIC Defensive Player of the Week (9/8/14).

Hinsch led the NSIC last week as she averaged 13.75 assists per set (165 total for the week) as UMD hit .274 in three wins including victories at No. 3 Concordia-St. Paul and at No. 6 Southwest Minnesota State.  She added three blocks and three kills while collecting 59 assists and 12 digs in the non-conference win at No. 3 Concordia-St. Paul on Tuesday night.  She added three double-doubles as she totaled 36 digs in three matches while adding seven blocks, six kills, and four service aces. This marks the sixth time this season Hinsch has been named NSIC Setter of the Week.

#3 Courtney Volkmann (S, 5-7, Sr., Wadena, Minn.)
- Notched 69 assists (9.86 assists/set) in two matches last week.
- Recorded eight kills with a .233 attacking percentage.  
- Finished third on the squad with 17 digs (2.43 digs/set) and also contributed two blocks.
#9 Jessica Yost (OH, 6-3, So., Bemidji, Minn.)
- Paced the team with 26 digs, including a career-high 20 digs versus Augie.  
- Tied for second on the team with 17 kills (2.43 kills/set).  
- Also notched three blocks in two matches.
 
- The three conference victories were the most by the Beavers since 2011.
- Senior Rachel Craig closed out her BSU career out on a high note as the Wadena, Minn. native led the team in hitting percentage (.286) and blocks (99).
- Fellow senior Courtney Volkmann finished her career with 2,579 assists, which is the fifth-most of any player in BSU history.
- Kayla DeJong registered 436 digs this season, which is the tenth most digs in a single season in program history. DeJong also finished eighth in conference in digs. It is the first time a BSU player has finished in the top 10 in the NSIC in digs since 2010.
- In addition to Volkmann and Craig, seniors Kelsi Crawford and Elissa Christensen played in the final matches for BSU last weekend.

#3 Janell Finkbeiner (S, 5-8, So., Ramsey, Minn., Elk River HS) -Totaled 61 assists in two four-set losses to Winona State and Upper Iowa, averaging 7.62 assists per set -Recorded 27 assists in the match against Winona State along with five digs -Earned 34 assists in the loss to Upper Iowa, her fifth match this year recording at least 30 assists
#18 Allison Adams (MB, 6-0, Sr., Minneapolis, Minn., Southwest HS) -Led all Marauders on the net with two solo blocks and 12 block assists, averaging 1.75 blocks per set -Recorded two solo blocks and seven block assists against Winona State, setting a U-Mary NCAA record for career solo blocks with 49 -Finished the Upper Iowa match with five block assists along with 12 kills, 25 attacks, and a .360 attack percentage

2013 Record: 15-14, 10-10 NSIC (t-7th)

The University of Minnesota Crookston fell to Augustana 3-1 and No. 8 Wayne State 3-0 on the weekend. The matches were the last of the season for the Golden Eagles, who finish the year with an 11-17 (5-14 NSIC) mark.
The match was the last for amazing careers for Brittany Looker (Sr., OH, Rochester, Minn./Health Science), Morgan VanGerpen (Sr., MH/RS, Overland Park, Kan./Elementary Education) and Mary Mikutowski (Sr., Lib., Stillwater, Minn./Health Science). The four won 49 matches in their four years at UMC after joining a team that hadn’t won a match the previous season.
Looker ends her career with 1,453 kills, which ranks first all-time and 1,111 digs, which ranks fifth all-time. In addition, she had 136 service aces, which ranks third all-time. Looker was All-NSIC each of her four seasons and was All-NSIC First Team her previous two, joining Joan Ebnet as the only other UMC player to earn that distinguished honor. Looker is also the all-time leader in points at UMC.
VanGerpen finished her career with 281 block assists (third all-time), 334 total blocks (second all-time) and 60 solo blocks (third all-time).
Mikutowski saw her most playing time this season and made the most of it, serving as the team’s primary libero. Mikutowski led the team with a 3.72 digs per set average and was second on the team with 257 digs.

#15 Sydnie Mauch (MB, 6-1, So., Brainerd, Minn./Brainerd H.S.)
- Knocked down 44 kills (3.67 average) as UMD picked up three wins, two over top-ten teams (No. 3 Concordia-St. Paul and No. 6 Southwest Minnesota) with a team-high .438 hitting percentage
- Collected a season-high 19 kills in a 3-1 non-conference victory over Concordia-St. Paul on Tuesday evening
- Had 13 kills on 19 swings without an error and four blocks in UMD’s three-set sweep over Sioux Falls on Friday night
- Stood tall at the net, collecting seven blocks on the week while also adding six digs
#9 Julie Rainey (Lib, 5-9, Sr., Stewartville, Minn./Stewartville H.S.)
- Averaged 4.83 digs per set on the week without a single reception error as UMD knocked off a pair of ranked opponents in three victories
- Pulled in 22 digs in UMD’s 3-1 win over No. 3 Concordia-St. Paul on Tuesday night
- Had 15 digs and a pair of service aces in UMD’s three-set sweep of Sioux Falls on Friday night
- Added eight set assists and two service aces to her defensive stats

#14 Mallory Sall (OH, 6-0, Jr., Port Coquitlam, British Columbia/Riverside Secondary)
- Recorded a .314 hitting % in both games on the weekend for the Beavers.
- Ended with 16 kills (4.0 per set) and 20 kills (5.0 per set) against Upper Iowa and Winona State, respectively.
- Tallied four blocks in the match against Winona State.
- Ended the season with four less kills than Jen Dixon, the Beavers leader, yet played in 13 fewer sets.
- Minot State closed out their season strong winning their final two matches of the season and also their final six home games. On Friday, the Beavers got their weekend off to a good start as they defeated the Upper Iowa Peacocks to take sole possession of 10th place in the Northern Sun. Saturday was more of the same for Minot State as they defeated the No. 5 team in the NSIC, the Winona State Warriors. With the win, the Beavers secured a 10th place finish in the conference. The Beavers have showed consistent improvement in the NSIC since they joined the league in 2012. In their first year the Beavers finished 15th, last year they finished 13th and this year 10th.
- The two Minot State seniors both ended their careers on a high note with a win over Winona State. #4 Jen Dixon (OH, 5-9, Sr., Brandon, Manitoba/Vincent Massey) tallied 13 kills and 21 digs in her final collegiate match. She ends her career as the all-time leader in kills in Minot State history (1,630). #2 Emily Byrne recorded 53 assists in the final win of her career along with 19 digs, the second-most on the team. Byrne is the all-time leader in assists in Minot State history and ends her career with 4,315.
- Both Sall and Dixon were named to the NSIC All-Conference Second Team this season. Last year the Beavers had just Dixon named to the Second Team.
- Minot State ends the season with an overall record of 11-18 and a conference record of 8-12, their best conference record since they’ve joined the NSIC.

Northern State Wolves (19-9, 12-8 NSIC)

2013 Record: 22-8, 14-6 NSIC (t-4th)

Cari McGarvie, MH, Lincoln, Neb., Lincoln North Star HS
McGarvie had a monster weekend for the Wolves as she recorded 39 kills (4.33 per set) and hit .540 in the two matches. McGarvie also had 10 total blocks over the weekend. McGarvie set a career-high for kills in both matches this weekend, as she opened with a 19-kill, .667 hitting performance in the Wolves 3-1 win over Minnesota State. McGarvie followed that up with a 20-kill, .444 hitting performance in the five-set loss to Concordia.
Drew Smith, S, Ames, Iowa, Ames HS
Smith tallied 120 assists this weekend, averaging 13.3 per set. Smith also averaged 3.11 digs per set in the two matches as she recorded a pair of double-doubles over the weekend. Smith spearheaded an attack that hit .372 against MSU and .257 against Concordia.

#11 Kate Hart (OH, 6-1, Sr., Chatturoy, Wash./Riverside HS/Spokane CC)
- Led USF with 21 kills (3.00/set) on .203 attack percentage
- Picked up seven digs and four block assists
- Tallied team-high three service aces
- Posted 14 kills with .225 attack percentage in 3-1 win over St. Cloud State
#9 Kayla Crane (S, 5-8, Fr., Maple Grove, Minn./Maple Grove HS)
- Led USF with 59 assists (8.43/set) over the weekend
- Recorded 48 assists (12.00/set) in 3-1 win over St. Cloud State
- Directed USF to .336 attack percentage in SCSU win
- Picked up seven digs and added one service ace
#5 Abby Folk (DS, 5-8, So., Rogers, Minn./Rogers HS)
- Recorded team-high 33 digs (4.71/set) over the weekend
- Posted match-high 21 digs (5.20/set)  in 3-1 win over St. Cloud State
- Helped USF limit SCSU to .212 attack percentage
- Finished weekend with one assist and one service ace.
Sioux Falls clinched its second straight NSIC/US Bank Tournament berth with a 1-1 weekend. The Cougars feel short at the hands of Minnesota Duluth, but rebounded to seal their postseason fate with a 3-1 win over St. Cloud State on senior night. The USF seniors shined brightest in their final regular season match with Emily Johnson, Kate Hart, and Samantha Lovell combining for 39 kills and Becky Wessel picked up a season-best 12 digs. The Cougars finished the regular season with a 17-13 record, 11-9 in the NSIC, which placed them eighth in the final standings.

#14 Kenzie Beekman (OH, 5-10, Fr., Marshall, Minn. / Marshall)
-Led the Mustang with 32 kills this past weekend while hitting a career-high .403
-Recorded her best match versus St. Cloud State tallying 15 kills with no errors and hit a career best, .750
-Helped the SMSU offense break a program recorded in hitting percentage versus St. Cloud State with a .494
-Posted her tenth double-double versus No. 2 UMD
-Leads team in kills with 344 this season with a 3.28 kill/set average
#6 Megan Larson (S, 5-9, Fr., Minneota, Minn. / Minneota)
-Posted 94 digs this past weekend for an 11.75 assist/set average
-Recorded nine blocks as well
-Tallied 52 assists against No. 2 UMD for a new career record
-Also earned her ninth double-double verses UMD

-Recored 36 digs this weekend for a 4.50 dig/set average
-Tallied just one receiving error
-Posted 22 digs versus UMD for a weekend best

SMSU closed out regular season play 20-8 overall and 15-5 in NSIC for its 12th straight 20+ win season. The Mustangs earned the four seed for the NSIC / US Bank Tournament and will host Winona State on Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the PE Gym.

St. Cloud State closed out their season with road losses at No. 6 SMSU (3-0) and Sioux Falls (3-1).  Taylor Rollo lead the Huskies with 14 kills on the weekend while Kellan Flynn and Kaitlin Doughty added 13 a piece.  
St. Cloud State finishes the 2014 season with a 7-21 overall record and 1-19 record in the NSIC.

2013 Record: 11-18, 8-12 NSIC (t-9th)

The Winona State volleyball team split a pair of road games to close out its regular season, beating U-Mary 3-1 before falling to Minot State 3-1. Freshman Danielle Rampart recorded 23 kills and hit .391 Friday as reigning NSIC Offensive Player of the Week, while Taylor Goar had 13 kills and 14 digs while hitting .313. Rampart added 18 more kills on Saturday, while Goar had another double-double with 16 kills and 18 digs.
The youthful Warriors, who were picked to finish 11th in the preseason NSIC poll, surpassed all expectations under first-year head coach Joe Getzin to finish fifth in the NSIC regular season standings, going 19-7 overall and 14-6 in league play.
Winona State will travel to Marshall, Minn. Tuesday to face the fourth-seeded Southwest Minnesota State Mustangs at 7 p.m. The Mustangs swept Winona State 3-0 in a hard fought 25-23, 25-22, 25-16 matchup in Winona on October 18.

The 2014 NSIC regular season champion will be determined by the 20-game conference schedule.  The top eight teams will play in the single elimination NSIC/US Bank Volleyball Tournament on November 11, 14-15. Quarterfinals will be hosted on campus by the top four seeds while the semifinals and championship will be hosted by the highest remaining seed following the first round of play.
