Mankato, Minn. - No.1 Minnesota State sophomore Sidni Trotter scored her first career goal in the 23rd minute to lift the Mavericks to a 1-0 victory over Winona State in the 2014 NSIC/US Bank Women's Soccer Tournament Championship. With the win the Mavericks improve to 21-0-0 on the season, earn their fourth NSIC Tournament title and will automatically qualify for the NCAA Central Region Tournament.

Minnesota State has now won back-to-back tournament championships and three of the past four titles. The Mavericks outshot the Warriors 27-8 and 10-2 on shots on goal in the match.

Trotter was named NSIC / US Bank All-Tournament MVP for her goal in the championship match, while Emily Morris was also named to the all-tournament team as she assisted on two game winning goals during the tournament, including Trotter's goal. Other Mavericks named all-tournament were defender Breanna Steele and goalkeeper Molly McGough.

The Mavericks earn an automatic bid to the NCAA Central Region Tournament and will be joined by University of Central Missouri, which gained an automatic bid out the MIAA.
