Rochester, Minn. – The St. Cloud State University women's swimming and diving team rose to first place after day three of action at the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) Championships.  The Huskies have scored 1000 points to sit in first place, ten points ahead of second place Lindenwood. Action will conclude from Rochester on Sunday with swimming preliminaries to begin at 10 a.m., diving finals set for 1:30 p.m., and swimming finals to kick off at 5:30 p.m.

MINNESOTA STATE
The Minnesota State women's swimming and diving team sits in fourth place after day three of the NSIC Championships. St. Cloud State currently sits atop the standings with 1,000 points, with Lindenwood following close behind in second with 990 points. MSU Moorhead and the Mavericks sit in third and fourth place with 661.5 and 630.5 points, respectively. Junior Emily Green won the first event for the Mavericks at the NSIC Championships as she took the top spot in the 100-yard backstroke event with a time of 56.20. Junior Ivanna Smirnova followed with a time of 58.00 for seventh place. Freshman Shelby Sechena took fifth in the 500-yard freestyle event with a time of 5:10.38. Sophomore Samantha Rasmussen took ninth with a time of 5:11.61 as well. Sophomore Emilie Berg claimed seventh place in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:07.42, while freshman Carley LeDoux took ninth place with a time of 1:08.82.
Sophomore Jade Ely took eighth place in the 200-yard butterfly event with a time of 2:11.10, while freshman Stefanie Roskosch took 11th place with a time of 2:20.28. The team of Rasmussen, Sechena, junior Tessa Cady and sophomore Alyssa Olson finished in third place in the 800-yard freestyle relay with a time of 7:55.88. Freshman Megan George placed ninth in the one-meter diving event with a score of 333.70.

MSU MOORHEAD
Senior Kelsey Jandro won the 1-meter diving title to lead the Minnesota State University Moorhead women's swimming and diving team Saturday. MSUM extended its advantage over Minnesota State, Mankato for third place to 31 points heading into the final day of competition on Sunday. The Dragons have 661.5 points going into Sunday. Jandro became MSUM's second-ever NSIC individual champion with her win in the 1-meter diving. After recording a score of 408.85 in the prelims, Jandro shattered that mark in the finals with a winning score of 433.90. Jandro joins Jenna Thompson, who won the 50 freestyle in 2013, as NSIC Champions from MSUM. Senior Shayna Dugger joined Jandro in earning All-NSIC honors in the 1-meter diving. Dugger took second with a score of 404.40, improving on her prelim score by nearly 10 points. Sophomore Jackie Woods had a solid performance in the 100 breaststroke, taking fourth at 1:04.85. She was just .39 seconds out of second place. Senior Kelli Nadeau also performed well in that event, taking sixth at 1:05.80.. Junior Megan Sanford was 12th at 1:09.63, improving on her prelim time by .46 seconds. Junior Susie Kitzman had a good day as well. She was seventh in the 200 butterfly at 2:10.79, improving more than three seconds from her prelim time. Sophomore Kaitlyn McKinney was ninth at 2:18.09 and junior Taylor Miller 10th at 2:19.61 for the Dragons in that event. MSUM's 800 free relay was fifth at 8:03.13, more than three seconds faster than its seed time. That consisted of Sanford, freshman Kelly Engbring, senior Angelee Hale and McKinney. Senior Angelee Hale was 11th in the 500 free at 5:13.08, more than two seconds faster than her prelim time.  Engbring was 16th at 5:19.98, a time that was .37 seconds faster then her prelim mark.The Dragons had three individuals place in the top 11 in the 100 backstroke. Sophomore Annika Bordak was ninth at 59.74, freshman Madison Kuznia 10th at 59.99 and sophomore Rachel Erickson 11th at 1:00.87. Senior Megan Rieland won the 'C' final with a time of 1:00.65.

LINDENWOOD
The Lindenwood women's swimming and diving program will be in second place entering the final day of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) Championships in Rochester, Minn. The Lady Lions have 990 points at the competition and sit just 10 points behind St. Cloud State.  Lindenwood has won six individual titles and two relays at the competition. Half of the individual titles have come from Alecia McGillivray who has won the 500 free, 1000 free, and 400 IM. Other individual titles have come from Bethany Steffes in the 200 free and Audra Thornton in the 200 IM. Lindenwood has won two relay events in the 200 free relay and 800 free relay. Eleven Lady Lions have earned all-conference honors. The swimmers earning that award are: Storrie Cramer, Niki Dahl, McGillivray, MacKenzie Porter, Steffes, Thornton, Kyleigh Troxel, Maike Tweesman, Hannah Vinyard, Shelby Werkema, and Jocelyn Woo.
Lindenwood won half of the events on day three of the conference championships but St. Cloud State, which trailed by 50 points entering the day, outscored the Lady Lions by 60 points to take over the team lead. McGillivray won her third individual title by winning the 500 free with a time of 5:01.00. Four other Lady Lions were in the top finals of that event as Troxel finished third, Kirchner was fourth, and Rembisz was sixth. Other Lady Lions scoring in that event were Hutton in 12th, Davila Gallego in 14th, and Church in 18th. The 100 back was the event that helped St. Cloud State get back into the team race as it scored 88 points, compared to just 18 for Lindenwood. Woo finished eighth overall and Porter was 14th
In the 100 breast, Cramer led Lindenwood with a third-place finish, while Coleman was fifth. Kelsey Nettles also scored with her 15th-place finish.Vinyard was the only Lady Lion to score in the 200 fly, but she scored the maximum amount of points by winning the event. She swam a 2:03.37 and won by over a second. The first diving competition took place and Shelby Werkema led Lindenwood by coming in third with a mark of 399.85. Carleen Wayne was fifth and Samantha Brady came in 12th.  The final event of the day was the 800 free relay and Lindenwood won with a time of 7:39.06. That relay consisted of Tweesmann, McGillivray, Steffes, and Thornton.

ST. CLOUD STATE
Abby Rasmussen became a conference champion as she took first place in the 100-yard breaststroke. Rasmussen finished in 1:03.66. Erin Hart (56.24) finished just behind conference champion Emily Green (56.20) from MSU Moorhead in the 100-yard backstroke.  Caitlyn Beecher took second place in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:02.97.
