NSIC Men’s Cross Country Athlete of the Week
Adam Braun (Senior, Shoreview, Minn. / Totino Grace HS)
Augustana
Adam Braun was the NSIC’s top finisher in the
Roy Griak DII Maroon race hosted by the University of Minnesota at Les Bolstad Golf Course in Falcon Heights, Minn. Braun took seventh place with a time of 26:18 to help lead the Vikings to a second place team finish. Augustana racked up 99 points in the men's race, only nine points behind Wisconsin-Parkside.

Nic Rudolph finished in 138th out of 409 total competitors with a time of 28:36.6 at the Roy Griak Invitational.

University of Mary
- Marauders finished 23rd at the Roy Griak Invitational out of 33 teams
- Thomas Neale finished 95th for the Marauders top finish
- Kevin Carpenter claimed 98th
- The U-Mary entry was comprised of three freshmen and three sophomores
Minnesota Duluth
The Bulldogs placed 16th in the Maroon Division II at the Roy Griak Invitational in Falcon Heights, Minn.
Dan Nielsen led the way for the Bulldogs as the senior captain finished 20th out of 409 competitors with an 8K time of 26:40.
Up Next: UMD will pay a visit to Colfax, Wis., Friday (Oct. 3) to take part in the Blugold Invitational hosted by the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire.
Minnesota State
Minnesota State placed 11th at the 2014 Roy Griak Invitational.
Senior Josiah Swanson was the top individual for the Mavericks, finishing 41st with a time of 27:23.
Up Next: The Jim Drews Invitational slated for Oct. 18th in LaCrosse, Wis.
MSU Moorhead
Spencer Ruebke (Sr., Ada, Minn./Ada-Borup HS)
- Led MSUM with 14th-place finish out of 408 runners at Roy Griak Invitational
- Ran an 8K time of 26:25.4
- was the second-highest NSIC male finisher at the meet (among attached runners)
Northern State
The Wolves’ Clay Danielson was the top finisher at the Roy Griak as he finished 129th and ran an 8K time of 28:43.

Sioux Falls
The Cougars were idle last week.

Southwest Minnesota State
The Mustangs were idle last week.

St. Cloud State
- The St. Cloud State men’s cross country team claimed 24th place at this year’s Roy Griak Invitational Maroon II Men’s race at the University of Minnesota.
- Chris Caron led the Huskies at the Griak with a time of 28:27, which put him in 103rd place. Johnathan Hess placed second for the Huskies with a time of 28:35 in 118th place.
- The Huskies will continue their 2014 campaign with a trip to UW-LaCrosse for the Neubauer Invitational on Oct. 18.
Wayne State
Justin Brueggemann (Junior, Plattsmouth, NE) led the WSC men’s team with a finish of 96th place in a time of 28:08. The men’s team placed 27th with a total of 773 points. The Wildcats will next be in action on October 11 at the Briar Cliff Invitational in McCook Lake, SD.
Winona State
Sophomore Seth Reel led the way for the Warriors with a third place finish at the SMU No Limit Invitational Friday in Winona with a time of 28:27.42. Billy Eifert, Shane Carlson, Nick Couillard and Charles Schauer each also finished in the top 10 for the Warriors to help the Warriors win the even title comfortably.
The Winona State men’s cross country team now prepares for the Wisconsin-Eau Claire Blugold Invitational on Friday in Colfax, Wis.

NSIC Cross Country Championship
NSIC Cross Country teams will compete in various meets throughout the fall with the season culminating in Wayne, Neb. on Saturday, November 8 at the NSIC Cross Country Championships. The NCAA Regional will take place two weeks later on Saturday, November 22 again in Wayne, Neb. The NCAA DII National Cross Country Championships will be held on Saturday, December 6 at E.P. Tom Sawyer Park in Louisville, Ky. in conjunction with the NCAA Fall Sports Festival.
