NSIC Women’s Cross Country Athlete of the Week
Hannah Palmeter (Junior, Bessemer, Mich. / Wright HS) - Southwest Minnesota State
- Won the 6K Bob Walax Invitational with a time of 21:18.8
- Becomes the first SMSU runner to win a race since SMSU reinstated the program in 2012
- Won by six seconds over UMD’s Breanna Colbenson
- Led the Mustangs to a fifth place team finish
- Has led SMSU in all four races this fall, finishing in the top six in all four
- Earns her second NSIC Athlete of the Week honor of the season (9/22/15)

NSIC Cross Country teams will compete in various meets throughout the fall with the season culminating in Falcon Heights, Minnesota on Saturday, October 24 at the NSIC Cross Country Championships held at Les Bolstad Golf Course.  The NCAA Regional will take place two weeks later on Saturday, November 7 in Joplin, Missouri. The NCAA DII National Cross Country Championships will be held on Saturday, November 21 at Tom Rutledge CC Course in Joplin, Missouri.

NSIC Women's Cross Country Team Notes
Augustana

- Annie Kruse finished second at the Briar Cliff Invitational with a time of 17:21.29
- The time was a personal best for Kruse
- Augustana women’s team placed second at the Briar Cliff Invitational
- Up next is the NSIC Championships on Saturday, Oct. 24 in Falcon Heights, Minnesota

Bemidji State
- The Bemidji State cross country team placed sixth at the Bob Waxlax Invitational Oct. 9, scoring 157 points
- BSU averaged 24:38 per runner and saw Nicole Crummy place 20th individually to lead the team
- A senior, Crummy trimmed more than a minute (1:04.32) form her previous 6,000-meter time
- Bemidji State now shifts its focus to the NSIC Championship on Oct. 24

Concordia-St. Paul
- CSP was seventh at the Bob Waxlax Invitational
- Maggie Marcus set a new team record at Wapicada, running a season-best 23:50.8 to finish 29th
- Up next are the NSIC Championships

University of Mary
- The Marauders rolled to a 33-point win at the Jimmie Invitational on Friday
- U-Mary posted 29 team points for its second win in three outings
- The Marauders captured places 2-3-4 and had four finishers in the top ten
- Sophomore Kaycie Stewart was second, followed by freshman Jaiden Schuette and junior Katelynn Engh
- The Marauders are off now until the NSIC Championships on Oct. 24

Minnesota Duluth
- UMD won the 6K Bob Walax Invitational at Wapicada Golf Course in Sauk Rapids, Minnesota
- UMD has won all four races they have competed in this fall
- Breanna Colbenson (21:24.9), Emilee Trost (21:35.9) and Hannah Olson (21:53.0) finished 2-3-4
- UMD is now off until Oct. 24, when it will trek to Falcon Heights, Minnesota for the NSIC Championships

Minnesota State
- MSU finished third at the Bob Waxlax Invitational
- Freshman Lily Paul (22:25) paced the Mavericks with her ninth-place finish
- MSU’s next action is at the NSIC Championships

MSU Moorhead
- MaKenzie Smith won the Jimmie Invitational on Friday for her first individual win of her collegiate career
- MaKenzie Smith’s win at the Jimmie Invitational on Friday led the Dragons to second-place finish
- Smith ran a 5K time of 18:15 to edge Mary’s Kaycie Stewart by two seconds at the finish line
- Freshman Marissa Carlson was seventh at the Jimmie Invitational to give MSUM two runners in the top 10
- The Dragons are off until Oct. 24 when they compete at the NSIC Championships

Minot State
- Minot State finished in fifth place overall at the Jimmie Invitational at the Parkhurst Recreation Area
- Allison Windish took ninth and was eighth in scoring runners with a time of 19:07 on the 5k course
- Minot State had a total of three runners finish in the top 25 in the race
- Samantha Huether (Jr., Minot, N.D. / Minot) was 17th overall in the race with a time of 19:36
- Minot State will run in the UND Ron Pynn Invitational Saturday in Grand Forks, N.D.

Northern State
- NSU ran in the Jimmie Invitational last weekend, their final competition prior to the NSIC Championships
- Dakotah Bullen was the top finisher for the women in fifth place overall with a time of 18:37.00
- The women finished fourth overall with 112 team points
- Next up are the NSIC Championships October 24th

Sioux Falls
- USF finished seventh at the Briar Cliff Invite in a field of 15 teams and 167 competitors in McCook Lake, S.D.
- USF was led by junior Jordin Kopplow who was 28th in 18:31.49
- Freshman Keegan Day was 31st in 18:44.54
- On October 24, the USF women’s team will compete at the NSIC Championships

Southwest Minnesota State
- Hannah Palmeter won the 6K St. Cloud State Invite on Friday with a time of 21:18.8
- She is the first SMSU runner—female or male—to win a race since SMSU reinstated the program in 2012
- Palmeter has led SMSU in all four races this fall, finishing in the top six in all four
- SMSU will next compete at the NSIC Championships on Oct. 24

St. Cloud State
-The Huskies hosted the Bob Waxlax Invitational on Friday, Oct. 9
- The event is named in honor of Bob Waxlax, who was a former head coach of the cross country and track and field programs at St. Cloud State
- SCSU placed fourth of the seven teams competing in the 6K
- Samantha Sunstrom finished in 19th place with a time of 23:11.1
- Next up for the Huskies is the NSIC Championships

Upper Iowa
- Upper Iowa placed 11th with 332 points at the Conference Crossover hosted by Lewis University
- Bethani Jacobsen turned in a new personal record, earning a 52nd place finish in 24:27.76
- Next up for the Peacocks are the NSIC Championships

Wayne State
- The Wildcats finished 13th out of 15 teams with a team score of 379 at the Briar Cliff Invitational
- Andrea DeSimone was the top Wildcat finisher, placing 56th out of 167 runners with a time of 19:21 on the 5,000 meter course
- Wayne State will be in action again on Saturday, October 24th at the NSIC Championships

Winona State
- WSU finished second at the Bob Waxlax Invitational Friday in Sauk Rapids, Minn.
- WSU had a pair of top six finishers in senior Jordan Paschke and sophomore Raissa Hansen
- Paschke finished with a time of 22:08.1 while Hansen finished at 22:12.8
- WSU next competes at the Drews-Neubauer Invitational hosted by UW-La Crosse on Oct. 17
