NSIC Athletes of the Week

NSIC Men's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week
Luxon Glor
(So., Winnipeg, Manitoba / Vauxhall Prep)
University of Mary

- Posted an NCAA provisional qualifying time of 6.90 seconds in the 60 meter dash at the Dakota Classic
- Ranks first in the NSIC and 10th in the NCAA
- Claimed second in the 200 meter dash with a time of 23.06 seconds
- Also won the long jump in a school-record and NCAA provisional qualifying mark of 23-08.25

University of Sioux Falls

- Set NCAA Automatic qualifying mark by clearing 5.30 meters (17-4.5) to win the Chuck Peterson Open men’s pole vault competition
- Broke USF indoor and overall record with a near four-inch personal-best clearance
- Currently holds the top mark in all of NCAA Division I, II, or III with his record-breaking mark

- Josh Barrows took first in the 600 meters with a time of 1:19.72
- Barrows topped Aduo Omot's record he had set in 2012 by almost a full second. Omot's time was 1:20.61
- Glen Ellingson competed at the GVSU Holiday Open and notched a PR and a NCAA Provisional mark in the 5000 meters
- Ellingson finished with a time of 14:35.0

- Tyler Naumowicz wrapped up a third place finish in the heptathlon with 4686 points to lead the way
- Josh Johanson added a second place finish in the 300m while also taking part in the 4x400m relay team

- Took home four top-5 finishes and 13 top-10 finishes in their first action of the season

- So. Luxon Glor posted two NCAA provisional qualifying times and a school record. He won the 60 meter dash in 6.90 seconds. He won the long jump with a school-record effort of 23-08.25. Both are provo marks. The Winnipeg, Manitoba, native also was second in the 200 meter dash (23.47 seconds).
- Sam Wilke won the 800 meter run in a time of 1:58.96.
- Sam Mackedanz, making the transition from football to track & field, placed second in the high jump (1.93 meters). He also plays wide receiver for the Marauders.  
Team Notes
This was the first meet of the season for the Marauders

- Nick Beattie in the 60-meter dash (7.24), junior Austin Carlson in the 400-meter dash (51.81), senior captain Ben Hanson in the 800-meter run (1:59.63), junior Henry Jessen in the mile run (4:27.99), junior Cody Sedbrook in the 3,000-meter run (8:49.50), junior captain Logan Rubeck in the 60-meter hurdles (8.87), senior Jason Lilja in the high jump (NCAA II provisional qualifying leap of 6'-08.00"), sophomore Kyle Kabanukin the long jump (21'-01.50"), junior Clinton Treichel in the shot put (49'-03.50") and  senior Brian Lee in the weight throw (53'-03.03")
- Carlson and Hanson teamed with senior Boston Braack and junior captain Connor Behm in the 4 x 400-meter relay and posted a winning time of 3:29.82

- The Bulldogs finished first in 11 of the 15 events

- TJ Hochstetler and Bryce Malsam finished third and fourth from the heptathlon with 4,445 and 4,416 points each

- The Northern State men took on the SDSU Holiday Open on Friday, coming away with 11 top-10 finishes from the meet
- The 4x4 relay team of Wietgrefe, Rodriguez, Brewer, and Thomas finished second, and bested the team’s 2015-16 time by over four seconds

- Scott Greenman won the men’s pole vault with an NCAA automatic qualifying mark of 5.30 meters (17 feet-4.50 inches), breaking the USF record
- Teddy Frid won the men’s heptathlon with 4,906 points, breaking the USF record and hitting the NCAA Provisional standard
- Billy Beseman won the men’s mile in 4:18.34
- Jase Kraft won the men’s 3,000-meter run in 8:44.73
- Jonathon Rowe was second in the 60-meter dash in 6.99 seconds
- Jagger Gran and Kyle Downey placed second and third in the men’s pole vault with provisional qualifying marks

- Broke two men’s records on the first weekend, setting the new pole vault and heptathlon all-time marks at USF

- In the long jump, Zach Jones recorded a mark of 6.54m to finish in fifth place
