MISU's Ninfa Ramirez named to D2CCA & NSCAA All-America Team

Minot State University senior Ninfa Ramirez was named to the 2016 Division II Conference Commissioners Association Women's Soccer All-America Second Team, the D2CCA announced Thursday. Ramirez was named to her second All-America team as she earned 2016 National Soccer Coaches Association of America NCAA Division II Women's All-America Second Team honors 

Ramirez becomes the first MSU player to be earn All-America status since Marianna Danna was named to the 2010 NAIA Women's Soccer All-American team in the Beavers inaugural season. Ramirez is the first All-American in school history at the NCAA Division II level.

After another record-setting year, Ramirez was named to her second D2CAA Women's Soccer Central Region Team in November, qualifying her for the national ballot. She finished 2016 with 47 points from 18 goals and 11 assists, leading the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference in points and goals. She was also the NSIC leader in shots (135) and was second overall in assists.

Ramirez finished her career as the Beavers all-time leader in points (83), goals (34) and shots (238) and is third all-time in assists (15).

She was the only student-athlete from the Northern Sun named to the D2CCA All-America team and one of nine Central Region players to make the three teams and honorable mention.

Sports information directors from NCAA Division II schools and conferences selected the DII CCA All-America teams. The process begins at the regional level with all first-team all-region picks advancing to the national ballot. A total of 53 student-athletes representing 29 different institutions filled out the three teams and the honorable mention squad.
