NSIC Men’s Field Athlete of the Week
Scott Greenman (Pole Vault, R-Jr., Clovis, Calif. / Clovis HS) - Sioux Falls
- Improved his No. 3-ranked mark nationally by a centimeter, placing second at the USD Twilight - Cleared 16-11.50, which ties the school record he set two years ago
- Tied with teammate Jagger Gran for the men’s pole vault title at the Red Raider Open
- Cleared 16-6.75 to share the title in the event held in Orange City, Iowa
- Marks the second time this season Greenman has been named Field Athlete of the Week (4/5/16)

Nick Larsen (Distance, R-Fr., Papillion, Neb. / Gross Catholic HS) - Augustana
- Finished first in the men’s 5000-meter run with a time of 15:04.27 at the Red Raider Open
- His time ranks as the second fastest time in the NSIC this season

- Augustana competed at the Red Raider Open
Men’s Track
- Nick Larsen finished first in the men’s 5000-meter run with a time of 15:04.27 at the Red Raider Open, which is the second fastest time in the NSIC this season
- Dylon Van’t Hof came in second in the men’s 110-meter hurdles with a time of 14.94
Concordia-St. Paul
Men’s Track
- Caleb Troe wrapped up the win in the 5000 meter run with a time of 16:09.31 at the Carleton Relays
- Troe’s time was just over a second better than the second place finisher in the event
University of Mary
- U-Mary competed at the Lyle Hokanson Classic in Fargo, N.D.
Men’s Track
- Sophomore Derek Myers captured the 5,000 meter run, covering the distance in 15:34.95 in his first time running the event collegiately
- Senior Thomas Neale had a strong performance in the steeplechase, placing second in 9:37.51, a scant 4.1 seconds out of first
- In the 800 meter run, freshman Teegan Olson placed fourth (1:57.20)
- Freshman Marceau Jovin ran the 110 meter hurdles in 15.91 seconds to also claim fourth
Men’s Field
- Freshman Luxon Glor led the Marauders to a sweep of the top three slots in the long jump while also claiming second in the triple jump
- Glor sailed 23-3.75 for the win in the long jump, right behind him was fellow freshman Riley Miller (22-7.25) while senior Dustin Rueb placed third (22-0.25)
- In the triple jump, Glor was second overall but had the top mark for a student-athlete attached to a collegiate team (45-11.25)
Minnesota Duluth
- Minnesota Duluth competed at the two-day Lyle Hokanson Classic
Men’s Track
- Isaac Overmyer captured the 3,000-meter steeplechase title at the two-day Lyle Hokanson Classic
- Overmyer crossed the finish line in 9:33.41 which bettered his previous time in that event from two weeks ago by over 18 seconds
- Overmyer was second in the 3000m with a time of 9:08.99
Men’s Field
- Garret Schleis was sixth in the triple jump (44-00)
- Brian Lee was seventh out of 32 competitors in the hammer throw at 175-11, which is an NCAA Division II provisional qualifying mark
MInnesota State
MSU was idle last week
MSU Moorhead
Men’s Field
- Andrew Werk finished sixth out of 32 competitors in the hammer throw at the Lyle Hokanson Classic with a toss of 176-3
- Werk’s throw was just over the NCAA provisional standard of 175-10
- Werk finished ahead of several competitors from Division I programs South Dakota State and North Dakota
- MSUM will compete at the Cobber Twilight on Tuesday and will also send athletes to the prestigious Drake Relays in Des Moines, Iowa
Minot State
- Minot State finished with four top 8 performances at the North Dakota State Lyle Hokanson Classic Saturday at Schlanser Track Complex
- MISU also earned three PRs and six season best finishes from the men’s program
Men’s Track
- Tyler Bates claimed a fourth place finish in the men’s 400, racing to a season best 51.09 seconds and was a member of the second place 4x100 relay team who also pushed to a season best time of 43.01
- Dylan Harvey rounded out the placewinners for MISU as he finished seventh in the 400 hurdles, ending in a time of 59.92
Men’s Field:
- Kaleb Kirby matched Bates with a fourth-place finish in the pole vault, clearing 14-5.5
- The Beavers are off next week and will next compete at the Minnesota State University Moorhead Ron Masanz Open May 7
Northern State
- The Northern State University track and field team hosted their annual meet Friday from the Swisher Activities Complex
- The Wolves tallied a strong showing in both the running and field events with 25 top-5 finishes in the one day competition
Men’s Track
- Dylon Hollingsworth won the 400m hurdles with a time of 58.07 seconds
- The 4x400m relay squad of Itoitz Rodriguez, Luke Wietgrefe, Dylon Hollingsworth, and Nick Lindwurm took home the victory in the event
Men’s Field
- Deshonn Brown won the high jump at 2.03m for the first national provisional mark of his career
- David Murphy was the final victor on the evening, winning the javelin with a mark of 56.71m
- Taylor Rolf and Jacob Wiedrich tied for first in the pole vault, each clearing 4.25m
- The Wolves will return to action this Tuesday from the Concordia College Twilight meet
Sioux Falls
- USF Track & Field had a productive weekend at the Red Raider Open, capturing one title to continue their strong season
Men’s Track
- Josh Liester and Ethan Tabbert followed, taking second and third, respectively, in the men’s 3,000-meter steeplechase
Men’s Field
- Jagger Gran and Scott Greenman tied for the men’s pole vault title, both clearing 5.05 meters (16-6.75)
- Greenman improved his No. 3-ranked mark by a centimeter, placing second on Tuesday at the USD Twilight 16-11.50, which ties the school record he set two years ago
- Chase Jensen and Jacob Zebedee tied for third behind their two teammates, Gavin DeHaai took fifth, and Trever Nordlund finished sixth
- Evan Hagen and Xavier Scarlett finished second and third, respectively, in the men’s long jump
- The Cougars will split their squad this week, sending athletes to the Drake Relays in Des Moines, Iowa, the Hillsdale College Gina Relays in Hillsdale, Mich., and the Drake Alternative meet in St. Peter, Minn.
Southwest Minnesota State
Men’s Field
- Alex Weis had a big weekend at the Northwestern College (Iowa) Open last Friday and Saturday registering two first place finishes and a second place finish
- Weis won the hammer throw with a toss of 55.31m
- Weis captured first place in the shot put with a mark of 16.15m
- Weis also finished second out of 28 in the discus with an NCAA provisional throw of 50.21m
St. Cloud State
-St. Cloud State competed on both days at the Lyle Hokanson Classic on April 22-23
Men’s Track
- Junior Isaiah Pitchford won the 400m with his run of 49.31
- It was Pitchford’s second 400m victory of the season and the third time he has placed in the top three
-Junior Myles Witcher finished second in the 110m hurdles
Men’s Field
- Ryan Johnson placed fourth in the men’s hammer with a throw of 56.17m/184’03”, his mark was the top one of the Division II athletes in the event and the fourth time he has placed in the top four of the hammer this season
- Senior Rafael Saez placed second in the men’s discus
- On April 28-30, the team will spend representation to the Drake Relays in Des Moines, Iowa
- Other members of both squads are also scheduled to travel and compete at the Drake Alternative in St. Peter, Minn. on April 30
Wayne State
Men’s Track
- Nick Fly won the 1500 meter run in 4:05.81, leading the race from the gun to the finish at the Jim Dutcher Invitational in Crete, Neb.
Men’s Field
- Bryan Dunn won the hammer throw with a mark of 185’-3 at the Northern State Twilight Meet in Aberdeen, S.D. on Friday
- The Wildcats will compete this week with the majority of the team at the MMC Invite in Yankton, SD on Wednesday, with also some athletes competing at the Drake Relays on Friday/Saturday, and a few at the Grandview Invitational on Friday in Des Moines as well.
