NSIC Athletes of the Week
NSIC Women's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week
Emi Trost (Jr., Goodhue, Minn. / Cannon Falls HS)
Minnesota Duluth
- Prevailed over 32 other runners in the mile run at the University of Minnesota's Jack Johnson Classic
- Clocked in at 4:46.79, an NCAA Division II automatic qualifying mark
- The converted time of 4:43.98 ranks as the top mile time in Division II this season
- Named NSIC Track Athlete of the Week for the third time this season (12/6/16 & 1/24/17)

Olivia Montez Brown (So., Great Sutton, U.K. / Ellesmere Port Catholic HS)
- Won the Pentathlon with 3,808 points at the
MSU Multis & Open
- Ranks as the top mark in the NSIC and the third best total in Division II this season
- Set a personal best of total points in the Pentathlon
- Finished first in the 60-meter hurdles and the long jump
- Took second in the high jump and the 800-meters and finished third in the shot put
- In the high jump, set a personal record with a mark of 5-04.25
- Had a season best time in the 800-meters with a time of 2:25.67
- Named NSIC Field Athlete of the Week for the second time this season (1/10/17)

- In the women's 60-meter hurdles, Irene Almarcha finished in second and Ellie Rew finished fifth

| - Vanesa Rae Lopez posted a personal-best 10:59.33 in the 3,000-meter run to take fifth place. She also placed seventh in the mile run, turning in a personal-best 5:23.09—just 1.30 seconds off the BSU school-record pace set by Nicole Crummy (5:21.39) a year ago. |

- Jada Barker recorded a personal-best 7.95 in the 60-meer dash. The freshman’s preliminary time put her just 0.07 from a school record in the event
- In addition, Barker and Lopez teamed up with Christa Benson and Alex Coleman to post a season-best 4x400-meter relay time. The quartet posted the 10th fastest time in the NSIC this season, clocking a time of 4:13.40
- Alex Coleman took fifth place in the MSU Multi pentathlon with total of 3,016. She finished third in the 60-meter hurdles, posting a time of 9.26 seconds to score 852 points--her best finish of the day
- She was also fourth in the long jump, stretching the tape to 7-2.75 to collect 488 points
- Both performances were season-best marks as she increased her personal-best pentathlon score by 58 points
- Madison Olson led all BSU participants at the Cobber Duals posting a sixth-place finish in the shot put, stretching the tape to 38-9
- Madison Kealy headlined BSU runners at the duals with an eighth-place finish in the 800-meter run. Her time of two minutes, 43.82 seconds stands as a season-best in the event |

- Despite being unable to finish off the pentathlon, Kalle Burney broke the deadlock and claimed the Concordia high jump record for herself by clearing 5'6.50" and taking first in the event
- Her fellow multi-athletes Wakpor Ighovojah and Erica Young also had productive days as they both hit NCAA provisional qualifying marks in the pentathlon. Ighovojah picked up 3446 points to finish second while Young took third with a season-best mark of 3287 points. |

- Shay Lierman, Breyanna Hill, Kortney Lightfoot, and Kenzie Soeken put together a time of 1:55.06 in the 4x200 meter relay, breaking the previous school record of 1:58.00 set in 1993; UIU secured a first-place finish in the event, holding off Beloit College by .93 seconds
- Sophomore Shay Lierman competed at the Minnesota State University Open & Multi on Friday night at the Myers Field House in Mankato, Minn., finishing tenth overall in the pentathlon with 2,610 points
- Lierman competed in the pentathlon for the first time this year, after doing so twice last season. The Cuba City, Wis. native improved her shot put distance for her best event of the night
- Starting with the 60-meter hurdles, Lierman finished 12th with a time of 10.52 seconds, just .09 seconds behind her time in last year's NSIC Championships
- In the high jump, Lierman cleared 1.39-meters and finished 12th as well; Lierman finished 5th with a shot put of 10.08m (33' 1"), her best event of the night
- The sophomore finished 9th in the long jump with a 4.69-meter jump, and wrapped up the event in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:48.64 to take place 11th |

- Hope Willenbrink and Anna Rogahn went one, two in the 1000 meters
- Willenbrink won the event in a time of 3:00.65, just .05 behind her school record time
- Rogahn was not too far behind; she ran a 3:02.93 on the afternoon. Her time will move in to second on the Warriors top-ten list
- Tamika Tucker finished just better than teammate Amanda Schaefer in the triple jump as the Warriors claimed the top two spots
- The Warriors 4x400 meter relay team of Ali Skluzacek, Alexandra Hutchison, Brittany Schyvinck and Megan Seidl won with a time of 3:59.98. They were the only relay team to break the four-minute mark on Saturday |
