BURNSVILLE, Minn. - The 2017 NSIC Volleyball Tournament pairings have been determined following the conclusion of the NSIC regular season schedule.  The top eight teams from the NSIC Volleyball Standings advance to the single-elimination tournament.  The top four seeds host first round matches on Wednesday, November 15 with the winners advancing to the semifinal and championship rounds on Saturday, November 18 and Sunday, November 19 in a bracketed format. There will be no reseeding following the first round matches. The highest remaining seed following the quarterfinals will host the semifinal and championship matches.

Concordia-St. Paul won its 14th NSIC regular season title in the last 15 years after finishing 19-1 in NSIC play. The Golden Bears will be the number one seed entering the tournament and will host a first round match against Wayne State (12-8). Southwest Minnesota State (17-3) will be the two seed and will host Upper Iowa (12-8) in the opening round. WSC & UIU had identical strength of schedule and UIU earned the seventh seed via its head-to-head win over WSC.   Northern State and Minnesota Duluth tied in the standing at 16-4, with NSU earning the third seed via strength of schedule. NSU will host sixth seeded Augustana (13-7) while fourth seeded UMD will host fifth seeded Winona State (15-5).  All quarterfinal matches will take place on Wednesday at 6 p.m. at the higher seed. 

The winner of the 2017 NSIC Volleyball Tournament will earn an automatic bid to the NCAA Central Regional Tournament. The full championship selections will be announced on Monday, Nov. 20 via a webcast selection show on www.NCAA.com at 6:30 p.m. The regional tournament will be played November 30-December 2 at a regional campus. The 2017 NCAA DII Volleyball Championships will be hosted by the University of West Florida at the UWF Field House in Pensacola, Florida on December 7-9.
