NSIC Women's Basketball Players of the Week

NSIC North  Division Player of the Week
#40 Jill Conrad (F, 5-11, Sr., Lino Lakes, Minn./Centennial HS)
Northern State
- Led the team averaging 14.0 points and 6.5 rebounds, with 28 points and 13 rebounds, in their two wins against Minot State and U-Mary
- Shot 57.1 percent from the floor and 1.000 percent from the 3-point line
- Added five assists and two steals
- leads the NSIC in 3-point field goal percentage, shooting 1.000 percent against league opponents

NSIC South Division Player of the Week
#24 Hannah McGlone (F, 6-0, Sr., Streamwood, Ill. / Streamwood HS)
Winona State
- Averaged 22 points, 15 rebounds and 2.5 assists over two games
- Scored a career-high 25 points while matching her season high of 17 rebounds at USF
- Has three double-doubles this season and 15 in her career
- Leads the NSIC with 11.3 rebounds per game and ranks fifth in scoring (14.9 ppg)

- In Friday’s game vs. CSP, Presley O’Farrell and Naomi Rust led the way 15 points. O’Farrell added five rebounds while Rust tallied four - Lynsey Prosser led the way with eight rebounds - Logan O’Farrell poured in 10 points, secured four rebounds and secured a team-high four steals - On Saturday vs. Minnesota State, Shelby Selland recorded a double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds - Lynsey Prosser recorded 12 points while Paige Peterson tallied 12 points and hauled in six rebounds

- Bemidij State split in its opening weekend of conference play after a 52-44 loss to Minnesota Duluth and a 52-51 win against St. Cloud State - BSU’s win was the earliest for the program in the NSIC schedule since taking down SCSU in the second game of the conference schedule in 2013-14 - The Beavers overcame a 15-point deficit in the third quarter to beat the Huskies for the second time in the last four meetings between the programs - BSU shot 39.4 percent from the field and limited SCSU to 22.9 percent shooting in the second half - UMD closed its game against BSU on a 14-2 run after Bemidji State held a seven-point lead in the third quarter - The Beavers shot 34.7 percent from the field, 26.7 percent from beyond the arc and pulled down 40.0 rebounds per game in the conference-opening weekend

- Freshman guard Brooklyn Bachmann led BSU with 15.0 points per game and added 5.0 rebounds, one assist and one steal per game. She recorded 17 points and seven rebounds against Minnesota Duluth before totaling 13 points on 4-of-8 shooting against St. Cloud State. - Sophomore center Sydney Arrington led BSU with 16 points on 6-of-9 shooting in Saturday’s win - Arrington averaged 10.0 points in 10.0 minutes per game on the weekend while shooting 72.7 percent from the floor

Concordia University, St. Paul Golden Bears

- The Golden Bears went 0-2 in their opening weekend of conference play, falling to both Augustana and Wayne State - The Bears shot 34.2% from the field (38-111) and 33.3% from behind the arc (18-54) over the two games - CSP’s defense forced 38 turnovers between the two contests, as eight different Golden Bears had at least one steal - The Bears’ game against Wayne State featured six ties, including being tied three different times in the third quarter before WSC was able to go on to win

- Freshman guard Ellie Gess had two career-high nights to open up her first two NSIC games, scoring a game-high 16 points against Augustana and then 17 points against Wayne State - Overall, the Bloomington native shot 48.0% from the floor and 53.3% from three -Junior Anna Schmitt continued her solid offensive play, averaging 19.0 points per game over the weekend, while also setting up other scorers as she had eight assists between the two games

- Lauren Rotunda posted her third double double of the season with 11 points and 11 rebounds against MSUM. She followed with 18 points and five steals against NSU. 13 of her points against the Wolves came in the third quarter - Gabbie Bohl has reached double figures for points in all eight games she has played this season. Bohl had 11 points against MSUM and just missed a double double with nine rebounds. She finished the weekend with 18 points and five rebounds against the Wolves - Cassie Askvig scored a career-high 25 points against MSU Moorhead. She was 9-of-15 from the floor, including a 3-of-4 effort behind the arc. Askvig also claimed six rebounds in the game. She posted eight rebounds against Northern State.

- The Golden Eagles came close in a pair of games against St. Cloud State and Minnesota Duluth on the weekend but fell short - A 10-4 run by the Huskies to end the game helped the Huskies to the win - On Saturday, UMD used a 12-0 run in the second quarter to lead them to the win - Micaela Noga and Caitlin Michaelis lead the league in minutes played with Noga averaging 36.5 minutes per game and Michaelis averaging 35.3 minutes per contest - The Golden Eagles are fourth in the league in free throw percentage at 76.8 as they have hit on 63-of-82 shots from the charity stripe - Minnesota Crookston is fourth in the league in blocked shots per game at 4.8 blocks per contest

- Emily Gruber averaged 14.5 points and 6.0 rebounds per game on 50.0 percent from the field - Isieoma Odor tallied 13.5 points and 9.0 boards on the weekend for the Golden Eagles - Caitlin Michaelis notched 11.0 points and 3.0 assists per game in two games on the weekend

Kusler sits atop the league averaging 6.0 assists per game, while Tappe holds a league leading 9.0 assist/turnover ratio

- Jasmine Harris scored a career-high 22 points, including the game-winning layup, to lead USF past Winona State - Adding 12 points against Upper Iowa, Harris averaged 17.0 points while adding six rebounds and five steals for the weekend - Kaely Hummel reached double figures in both games, scoring 10 against Winona State and 13 against Upper Iowa - Mariah Szymanski scored 12 points off the bench in Friday’s win then added nine more on Saturday - Jacey Huinker picked up 12 rebounds in each game and handed out seven assists with five steals

- SMSU captured its first conference win with a 75-55 home win over Upper Iowa on Friday evening while also notching a season high for points scored - The win over UIU was the first home NSIC win for Head Coach, Tom Webb - The Mustangs went 8 of 14 (57 percent) shooting from the floor in the first quarter in their win over the Peacocks - SMSU hit 4 of 7 three point attempts against Upper Iowa and finished the night with 10 made three pointers as a team - The Mustangs outrebounded Upper Iowa, 44-39 - SMSU had a season high 17 assists on Saturday against Winona State

- Caleigh Rodning posted another double-double with 18 points and 11 rebounds to lead the Mustangs in both against Upper Iowa - Rodning went 46 percent shooting from the field over the weekend while also hitting 17 of 19 free throws - Erin Baxter averaged 11.5 points in the Mustangs’ two games last weekend and went 5 of 10 on three pointers in two games - Sadie Stelter averaged 11.0 points per game over the weekend - Taylor Holicky averaged 11.0 rebounds per game

- Andrea Thomas led the team in scoring in both games on the week as she scored 14 points against UMC and a career-high 24 points against the Beavers - She has led the team in scoring in three of the six games this season and scored in double figures in five of the six contests - Tori Wortz scored in double figures in both games with 10 points against the Golden Eagles and 14 points against the Beavers - The team is 4-1 this season when Wortz reaches double figures - Brianna Johnson and Amanda Christianson became the first SCSU players to get double figures in rebounds in a game as each had 10 against BSU - Johnson averaged 9.5 rebounds per game on the week
